Why didn't anyone tell me there were going to be consequences for doing this? I nearly saw a hateful meme! Why didn't the government stop it? I need help!

Day Three without a government.  It's all so icky that I just don't know what to do anymore.  It's like when you've got this date with a hot chick, but you have to ditch your best friends to go out and buy some new clothes, but the credit card machine isn't working so you start screaming and crying and breaking things, so then you get arrested and sent to jail where your cellmate is this big black guy named Earl, who thinks he's the boss of this ward, but then he gets killed by someone three cells down who was arrested for tax fraud of all things, and child-molesting, so you start regretting the fact that you never became an accountant.

Yeah, it's exactly like that.  Trump did this.  Wow, is there anything he can't do?

□ [“Virginia AG Nominee Texts His Fantasies About Killing Prominent GOP State Politician"]

Lots of news today, not sure I'll even be able to cover everything.  This guy posted this in August 2022 and it's just being noticed?  He's running for election now and this hasn't been brought up, fantasizing that he had three bullets and was with Hitler, Pol Pot and then Speaker of the Virginian House, whom he said would get two of the bullets.  And this is clearly the sort of person the Uniparty is trying to promote to higher ranks.

□ [“Russ Vought Freezes $2.1 Billion in Chicago Infrastructure Projects in Chicago – Specifically Projects Using Race-Based Hiring"]

Vought is the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, overseeing resources and funding.  And now they're hitting Chicago.  This will be interesting because these projects, as well as NYC and other Democrat-run states, are used to funnel money to their own people.  Just because of the locations, these probably have the most funding, and will be the hardest hit by suddenly having to pay for things themselves if they really want it.  Portland is also an obvious target.

□ [“David Hogg’s PAC Spends Millions on Consultants While Candidates They Back Come Up Short"]

It's mostly hidden from the public but we're also seeing infighting among the left.  The hustlers and grifters are being noticed, or rather, exposed by Democrats who are sick of these people, or just want to eliminate a rival.  Hogg's not even being smart about it, yet somehow he made it to a high position at the DNC, at least briefly.  BLM is also suing George Soros, something about not giving them all the money they're entitled to.

But these are at least slightly giving us a sense of who is on which team and what they are doing.  There's still no specific division between the sides but I think most people recognize that we have started Civil War 2.0.

□ [“Trump Declares Drug Cartels Are ‘Unlawful Combatants,’ US is in Armed Conflict With Them"]

This is interesting.  I haven't really paid attention to the cartels but they could largely be seen as foreign allies for the war we're fighting here.  Or to put it another way, global contacts for the war around the world.  Someone, not sure who, recently posted an interesting summarization of what we're facing here: [Note, I'm simplifying the quote for my own convenience]

For the Democrat party, SPLC is the targeting wing, Soros is the financial wing, Antifa is the military wing, legacy Media is the propaganda wing.

The SPLC is the only part of that I haven't paid enough attention to really consider, but that's where it becomes clear what the cartel's role is.  Democrats are a convenient tool but it's not specifically for them.  Otherwise, you might quibble, but this is effectively a good summery of the enemy we face.  This is where we can start looking for their connections as individual groups, whether they're all tied to China or the *woke* agenda or whatever the central command is.

I get the impression people will start looking into the Southern Poverty Law Center.  The FBI has cut ties with them according to Kash Patel.  It's noted that they can point to who needs to be shot.  The 2017 shooting at a Congressional baseball practice was by an SPLC/Bernie Sanders fan.  They did identify Charlie Kirk's group as a target although it's not said if the shooter was a fan.  One of the difficult things to figure out is how subtle influence can get and still be responsible for what happens.

□ [“P. Diddy Combs Sentenced to More Than 4 Years in Prison"]

He brought prostitutes across state lines.  That's what he's being punished for.  WTF?  This just comes off as a skit to distract the public.  If that was all he did, however atrocious, why was he given any attention?  And whatever happened to the famous people who were supposed to be part of his 'parties'?  Something is being faked, either the publicity Diddy got for being prosecuted or the court verdict just pretending to care in the slightest.

□ [“Would-Be Kavanaugh Assassin Sentenced to Eight Years Due to His Transgender Struggles"]

And this comes out the same day.  Try to murder a Supreme Court justice and this is what you get.  The guy who made it into Nancy Pelosi's house should decide to change his gender, he'd get several decades taken off his sentence.  More than anything, it's that these judges are showing they've picked a side and it's not the law.

Gotta admit, I don't know what to do about this.  The judicial system is broken but there's no way to decide who is going to make this decision.  We can't trust them but how do we organize a resistance?  Or what is Trump supposed to do?  Even if he installs his own supporters, that's just a temporary solution and the left won't go with it either.  I dunno, I suppose I'm just annoyed to see that this is what all the P. Diddy nonsense was reduced to.

□ [“Hamas Moves Toward Peace:  Agrees to Hostage Release and Partial Backing of Trump’s Plan"]

Several days ago, Trump released a "20-point plan."  The fact that he started with insisting the hostages be released within 72 hours shows how pointless this is.  He keeps demanding this and it doesn't happen.  *IF* Hamas agreed, Israel would release thousands of prisoners, which also shouldn't happen.  Hamas would be required to be peaceful with Israel, not gonna happen, and then Gaza will be run by an unelected group, along with the UN and Trump.  That's just covering the first part of this plan and it sounds totally stupid.

Hamas may be willing to stop being in charge, at least officially, but that won't mean anything.  The Philistines voted for them and haven't seen any reason to regret that yet.  Hamas will pick their people to be on the committee and the UN still wants to help destroy Israel, so nothing will change.  I suspect Hamas is only going this far just because they realize they can be easily wiped out if the "oppressive" Israel ever decides to live up to their reputation.

Trump is getting things done around the world but things like this just look like total failures-waiting-to-happen.  I haven't even gotten around to his increasing support for Ukraine.  Then there's the negotiations with China which seem to be going somewhere but no idea where.  Bad enough what we've got going on here in the states but if you really want to be part of a global war, you need to declare it.  And don't support the enemy.

Maybe I should start being naughty to make sure Santa Claus doesn't leave a federal government for me under the tree.

Day Two without a government.  The people who disagree with me are suffering through all the misery their politics have brought on them.  The people who agree with me are happy and go-lucky and not wearing a bra.  [hold on for a second.]

But life without a government is tough.  One of my shoelaces broke today.  The government is supposed to prevent that!  How can life go on when things like this happen?  I blame the people who disagree with me.  There's just too many of them.  Maybe we should get together and discuss how to eliminate them.  But we'll need someone in charge.  How many votes can I get?

□ [“Trump administration freezes $18 billion in New York City infrastructure projects"]

NYC is run by leftists and has a lot of rich people who leftists say aren't paying enough taxes.  Sounds like an easy solution.  What's their soon-to-be-installed leftist mayor going to do about it?  Otherwise the city's going to need to figure out some way to deal with two subway projects, one of which is a tunnel under the Hudson.  It's not something you can just stop.

I'm also curious what annoyances New Yorkers had to deal with with this going on, and whatever else was part of this $18 billion funding.  Not sure how subways have to deal with it but on the ground level, you have to deal with detours because construction has taken over the area for months.  It's New York so the suckers are probably used to it but this just seems very irritating.

And across the country, leftism provides the same results.  It's rumored that this land is set aside to go to China or Muslims or something, so maybe that's it.  But it should be noted that the state government promised to speed up the process and here it is.  You can completely understand the response John Galt gave when asked what government could do for him, "Get out of my way!"

Partially Europe looks easier to identify the actual war as it starts.  There's the Muslims, there's the leftists, there's the increasing protests to the censorship and war-mongering.  But we aren't European so their media isn't as free as the US is supposed to be.  But to the extent any of it is understandable or believable, this is what we're looking at.  Western civilization, and perhaps the whole world, is in a 'war' mentality.

If there was any doubts about this guy, here you go.  There are times I wonder whether John Paul II was part of the *woke* or maybe it was that the point was that he would inspire leftists to complete their takeover of the church.  Either way, here they are.  It seems impossible to do but people like Leo and his predecessor give the impression is that their whole goal was to be in charge of something so they could destroy it.  It should be noted that we see that sort of thing happening in leftist American organizations.

□ [“German Left Party Calls for Assassination of AfD’s Alice Weidel After Justifying Kirk Killing"]

Then there's Germany, acting like, well, Germans.  And no one anywhere is telling these people to knock it off.  That's how we know they're all on the same side.  Even worse, they're obviously pushing this against their own people at the same time they're trying to get to war with Russia.  Nobody's going to fight this war for them and no one will defend them against attacks.  At least Russia has centuries of experience with this sort of insanity, what's Europe's excuse?  Oh, right.  Leftism.

There was a news report a month or so ago of a black American single mother ditching everything to go join this fake tribe.  Deluding people to believe that they had a kingdom in Scotland four hundred years ago?  And it obviously fools some people.  Well, there were only three involved, one male, two females, but the fact that they were allowed to do this shows that something has gone very wrong.  These are the sort of people the rulers of Europe are counting on to achieve their goal.

□ [“Female Reporter Violently Attacked by Antifa; Portland Police Refuse to Arrest Attacker"]

The American equivalent of what's going on in Europe.  You can physically attack a woman and the leftists in charge will support that as long as the victim is conservative.  Essentially all leftist rhetoric about 'fairness,' 'equality,' 'anti-violence' includes the unspoken phrase 'until we change our minds.'  Which they always will at some point.

But they must realize that this won't last long.  Too many people are armed and you do have the right to defend yourself.  Is this what the leftist elites are expecting to happen?  Especially if the attacker is black, this could cause more problems.  It's why civilized societies don't allow violent attacks in the first place, but that's not where we are anymore.

If the police were ordered not to intervene - and 'I was only following orders' is not a great defense, jus' saying... - then citizens are going to start handling it themselves.  About all the left can do is try to form gangs and start doing the same thing, but most of them would be lacking the training and arms.  There would be chaos but it seems like it would be fairly short-lived, unless they have some foreign allies ready to step in.  And thinking about it, they're probably begging China to save them from the tyrant.

□ [“CNN Cuts Off Speaker Johnson as He Says Democrats Demand Illegal Alien Healthcare Funding"]

This cannot be helping CNN's ratings.  Why would you pretend to be a "news" network if you deliberately shut people off like this?  And what is your audience supposed to think?  Do they just accept that you're going to prevent them from hearing anything you don't like?  If that audience was interested in what you were reporting, they will never consider going someplace else to look up what Johnson was saying on the same topic?

As it is, the obvious video clips are increasingly publicized.  The main one is probably the June 2019 Democrat primary debate where every single candidate raised their hands to show their support for funding healthcare for illegal immigrants and that was at least a dozen potential candidates.  Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg and Bernie Sanders were among that group, yet Democrats are now claiming that they had never heard their party ever suggest support for such a thing.  Looking it up, I was surprised to see that the debate wasn't aired on CNN, it was NBC instead.

This just seems guaranteed to not win any support for Democrats or their pet media.  Frankly, you'd have to be extremely desperate and stupid to see that it'll just drive people away.  I'm sure it's a common analogy but the left traps people in a bubble.  Once a crack is formed and people start seeing the world outside the bubble, they start breaking through even more and soon have been freed from the bubble.  And doing things like censoring a politician on media - well, the left would call it "censorship" if it happened to them - is exactly the sort of thing that will encourage people to break free.

Oktoberfest Shut Down; Killing, House Fire, Bomb Detonation and a Suicide Put Munich in High Alert
October 1, 2025

Day One:  Last night when I went to bed, we had a federal government.  We had hopes and dreams and those little candies that are crunchy on the outside but chewy inside.  Now we have none of that.  It's all gone, stolen from us by evil men.  Because they're trying to control us, that's why we'll never have a government again.

But they can't beat me!  I'll govern myself!  I'll campaign vigorously, and spend every penny I have on ads to win my vote.  The debates will be harsh.  The speeches will win over every one of my votes.  No one will even notice that I didn't have a primary, because Democracy is at stake!

That's why I don't need a federal government.  I can just go out and do it myself.  And I'm trustworthy, you'll never see me abandoning myself like that heartless wench!  I'm good!  I'm loyal!  I'll be there when I need me the most!  I'll never be so lonely again!  I'm not crying, you're crying!

I'm curious how long the House funding bill remains active.  This is all from memory but it's been a week or so since they passed it.  I'm pretty sure normal bills can stay until at least the end of the term, or end of the year, but funding would probably be held to different rules.  The Senate can pass their own bill which then needs to be merged with the House and then go up for a vote again.  Like I said, I don't remember the specifics and am not remotely interested in looking them up.

I don't see any patterns but it does look like Democrats are having trouble with their members.  One or two Senators have started voting with the Republican bill.  To Veep Vance, this is a sign that the shutdown won't last very long, they're breaking apart.  Can't we have both?

The central concern seems to be that the Big Beautiful Bill had eliminated the methods used to provide illegal immigrants with free health care.  The Democrat version of the bill that would re-open the government restores those methods.  There's other things like funding NPR and PBS but it looks like this is the main concern.  Why not just get leftist doctors to provide free healthcare for illegals and charge Americans more for their treatment?

This is an subtle indicator of the problems the party is having.  AOC is presenting herself as the one to talk to and Nancy doesn't like that.  I hadn't heard about this so I don't know if it's true, but it sounds like Nancy doesn't either.  She makes the generic public statement about how wonderful AOC is but points out this isn't her job.  AOC is the one who decides that, Nancy.

It's also rumored that AOC is considering running for POTUS - as she's finally old enough - or Senator, where she'd be challenging Chuck Schumer in a primary.  And now she's calling the shots while Nancy Pelosi is babbling like an old woman.  She really didn't sound good in this video and probably wasn't even drunk.

For a long time, I've thought that leftists were aiming towards the modern equivalent of a "cultural revolution," what Mao had the young people do in his last decade.  They needed to purge out the old no matter how dedicated they'd been to Mao for decades.  Not sure if AOC has any authority or if she's just riding the waves but that's effectively what's going on here.  No matter how dedicated a Democrat you are, at some point you've got to be sick of looking at these old people.

This may be why old videos suddenly popped up of Bill and Hillary Clinton speaking out against illegal immigration and, in Hillary's case, specifically testifying to Congress against providing them free health care.  The party's not allowed to publicly ask them what changed their mind but they can at least put this out to remind the public that they're just saying whatever it takes to keep power.

September 30, 2025

A few days ago, there was a meme of Jeffries wearing a sombrero, Mexican music playing, and so on.  It wasn't that interesting but Trump certainly thought it was.  But the Democrat reaction to this is definitely interesting.  You can argue that Trump should have better things to do and you would be right.  But leftists really need to find a better way to complain than just saying something is "racist."

They've thrown in a few others, with Trump's approval.  By the way, I don't think he's handling his social media posts.  The reason might be good or bad but I think the writing style has changed in the last several months, much more text than before.  But whoever's handling it at least has the right targets.

Anyway, stuff like this shows that Trump and his people think, probably correctly, that they have a handle on this.  *IF* going without a government is so horrifying and oppressive and all that stuff, why are Democrats so determined to make everybody suffer until illegals get free health care?  And who do they think they're going to convince?  Portland, Oregon is preparing a naked gay bicycle race to protest, what planet do you have to live on where you think this will help anybody?

They're really going to need Antifa or China or whoever's replaced Al-Qaida/ISIS to strike if they expect to go anywhere with this.  As with previous shutdowns, nobody cares.  The rest of us have our own lives to get to, which those obsessed with politics always ignore.  As usual, I didn't even notice Trump's meme until the left started complaining about it.  There's probably going to be more of this every few days, mocking the Democrat inability to do anything.

October 1, 2025

You'll punish people for getting your fictional pronouns wrong and order the internet to silence people who say things you don't like.  "Fascist" is close-enough for government work to use on you.  As you've shown for the last several years without any punishment whatsoever from the government.

Pritzker is just trying to show off to the rest of the party.  IIRC they haven't had a nationally-successful state executive politician since Bill Clinton, and that was a long time ago.  He's also egotistical enough to want to challenge Gavin Newsom and isn't that interested in the truth.  A couple days ago he insisted the 25th amendment should be used on Trump, which means he hadn't paid attention to the last several years.  Who is really going to take him seriously?

He's doing it now for more than just the shutdown, the feds have moved into Chicago and arrested a couple dozen Tren de Aragua members.  They've also gone into Memphis and if they haven't entered Portland yet, they're ready to go.  It's unclear if these are just federal agents or if troops are included, they're probably being vague on this for a reason.  I was pretty sure Trump would use the shutdown to make this happen.

Now the states need to decide what they're going to do without a federal government.  Even worse, they claim to want the federal government back, which means they can be prosecuted for fighting it.  It's a trap whichever way you go, so whoever's making decisions for Pritzker better get ready for it to blow back on them.

□ [“Over 100,000 Federal Employees Expected to Quit Tuesday Amid Government Shutdown"]

There might be some legal distinction between getting fired or quitting the day before.  For convenience, I'll assume they all have paychecks coming in from Soros or his ilk so they won't be missing anything. They're government officials, it's not like they're hired for courage.  These people could have taken Trump up on his offer to quit several months ago but obviously didn't.

Hopefully with months of his people in running the executive branch and what DOGE learned, the Trump administration knows exactly what needs to cut out.  I'm also curious how relevant established law is to this, since there will be no Congress in a few hours.  There are laws to ensure the executive branch continues to function during a shut-down but how many changes are permanent and how many will go back to the way things were whenever the government gets around to reopening?

At a lower level, that's probably not much of a problem in the executive departments.  The leftists will quit or be fired and those who work for the chief executive can then rewrite the regulations for their particular division.  If this is anything like the other government shutdowns I've been through, I doubt much will change from our perspective.  The question is what the left will do about it.

The Senate is still making noise about trying to pass something but I assume they'll fail.  The only alternative is if enough Democrats cave, or whoever's in charge of them gives up.  But taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal immigrants but not Americans is really the hill they'll die for.

□ [“Pete Hegseth Declares a Return 'the Highest Male Standard Only' in Military Combat Roles"]

No idea if this will work but it's certainly nice to hear.  The 'kinder, gentler Army' has been around for a long time so this speech won't be enough to get rid of it.  But this is what the big meeting was about, at least the parts we'll be informed on.  More PT and no lowering standards for women.  You'd think that would be obvious but the left has spent decades on that and won't give up now.  This also applies to grooming, uniforms and medical requirements.

□ [“Trump Suggests Dangerous US Cities Should Be Military Training Grounds, 'A War From Within'"]

Trump covered this part.  He did say we'll be moving into Chicago soon.  You'd think urban combat would be a standard part of training at this point, or at any point for the last century.  Of course I was never infantry so maybe they are trained on that, but there could be a refresher.  I'm sure they're putting a lot of thought into how this will work.

It's quite possible they'll start moving into these cities in the next couple days, just to get the ball rolling.  As I've said, they probably already have troops there - it's not like these cities don't have military units - but we'll see how many citizens are ready to fight back.  I'm sure there will be something but I also doubt there won't be a lot of resistance.  It'll probably be closer to 'suicide by cop soldier' than anything else.  But that was probably covered in the part of the meeting that won't be reported.

Poland Authorities Arrest Ukrainian Man Suspected of Exploding the Nord Stream Gas Pipelines
September 30, 2025

Stan Lee and Steve Ditko's Spider-Man certainly qualifies as a building block of my life, even though it came out over a decade before I was born and even longer before I started reading it.  Although I don't pay a lot of attention to it anymore, when I do think about it, I'm usually trying to figure out what Ditko was intending to do with the characters.  He certainly had a direction and, just from what I've glimpsed at this evening, it started early on.

For all that we're told about Spidey being an unusual superhero, he was actually the first one at Marvel who followed the standard tropes.  The Fantastic Four didn't have secret identities, they didn't even have costumes for the few few issues.  Thor and the Hulk were literally separate characters from their secret identities and what they had as far as love interests was very simple and unimportant.  Basically none of these characters even fought standard supervillains for quite a while.

That's not the case with Spider-Man.  Costume, identity, he fought criminals and supervillains right away.  Didn't have a love interest for a few issues but he had the kids at school.  We don't know how much Stan Lee really contributed to the stories beyond dialogue and editing and we know that Ditko did more and more as time went on, but I've been looking at the basics for the first several issues.

Skipping the origin story which is very different from the actual series, the first issue had Spidey encounter the main antagonist, J. Jonah Jameson, and meet the Fantastic Four, to start re-enforcing that all the different titles took place in the same world.  Technically DC did the same thing but there was much less continuity or connection.  Atlantis was presented very differently depending on which title it appeared in, and you couldn't just have Superman or Batman show up for a few pages.

The second issue had Peter Parker start working for JJJ, establishing their long-standing relationship.  The third issue was the first one to be a single story instead of two short stories and made use of the extra pages.  The hero thought things were good, then he was defeated, then he found his way back.  Not great literature but better than comics had been known for.  All that plus a guest-appearance by the Human Torch.

The fourth issue had the Sandman attacking Peter's high school, detailing some of their interaction.  Liz Allen makes her first notable appearance as Peter messing things up with her.  We also see him having other problems, including dealing with JJJ and his secretary, Betty Brant.  Stan always said he preferred writing romance comics the most and Steve was clearly pushing this plotline.  I've been convinced for some time that he always intended Betty to be Peter's true love and everyone else was just a distraction.

The fifth issue has Spidey face Dr. Doom.  Usually characters didn't fight enemies from a different title, but this would indicate things were different here.  All the characters were involved.  The sixth issue was a bit different, leaving NYC to fight the Lizard.  I've always noted that after this issue, Doc Connors never became the Lizard again during Ditko's run but was always available as a brilliant scientist when Spidey needed help.

The seventh issue had the Vulture return and attack the Daily Bugle itself.  This starts the theme of JJJ getting closer and closer to the villains.  Sometimes he supports them, sometimes he's the victim, other times he's just comic relief.  The issue ends with Peter and Betty chatting, like they're attracted to each other.  Can't be too specific in superhero comics aimed at kids but it is what it is.

The eight issue is unusual in that it's two short stories.  The first one is an evil robot attacking the high school and is probably notable that Peter makes a convincing case that no one should suspect he is Spider-Man, unlike what Clark Kent and Superman have to deal with.  The second story is another meeting with the Human Torch and is drawn by Jack Kirby.  The Marvel Universe was slowly becoming more solid and coherent, helped by the fact that only a handful of creators were involved.

The ninth issue has Betty and Peter fighting because she's scared for him, taking pictures of crimes.  It ends with them walking off together.  This was the first of the 'Aunt May is almost dead' issues and Betty even visits her in the hospital.  JJJ is being attacked by Electro and when the villain is defeated, it's the first of several times where Spidey unmasks him and realizes it's a complete stranger.

This was redone in the tenth issue when Spidey spent the whole issue assuming the villain was JJJ but it turned out to be another reporter for the Daily Bugle.  Ditko would continue to do stories like this here and there for the rest of his run.  Unfortunately he died without telling us what his intentions were because this is definitely one of the many reasons the series and character were so popular.

The eleventh and twelfth issues started a change of direction, but it's still not clear exactly what.  Betty had left town for some mysterious reason and it turns out she was working for Doc Ock.  Her brother is a criminal and they're all in on it.  Peter tracks her down to Philadelphia and is not remotely creepy about it.  Betty's brother dies and Doc Ock escapes, possibly the first time that ever happened in a code-approved comic.  We're told Betty will never be back, then she returns on the first page of the twelfth issue.  With a new haircut.  Chicks, amiright?

This issue is finishing the Doc Ock storyline with some very stupid parts to the story.  Betty and Peter are clearly dating by this point although it's not specific and now Liz gets a crush on Peter.  He was caught impersonating Spider-Man and she thinks that's awesome.  That's not even the stupidest part of the story but at least in context, you could believe these characters are doing this.

The thirteenth issue introduces Mysterio who doesn't really have any great insights but the characters all continue moving forward.  The fourteenth issue is weird in several ways.  First of all, the Hulk appears.  If his series hadn't been cancelled yet, it was close, and either way he made appearances in multiple titles which helped push the overall franchise.  Second of all, the story was a rip-off of a recent Fantastic Four story where the villain pretends to hire the heroes to make a movie because they need the money.  And third of all, this villain was the Green Goblin.

In one of the few revelations in his later years, Ditko did say that he always intended the Goblin to be Norman Osbourne, although it's not clear if he'd even conceived of Osbourne by this point.  As Spidey carries out this adventure, back home the other characters are all doing their usual things, keeping the series fleshed out that way.  It's also noteworthy that the Goblin was working with the Enforcers, who had appeared in issue ten.  Issue fifteen had Kraven's first appearance, helping the Chameleon who had appeared in the first issue.  Villains were bringing in helpers to deal with the hero.

And on the romantic side, Betty is getting very jealous of all the other girls in Peter's life.  It's interesting that it's done so subtly that kids can read it without knowing what's going on but there's still enough to understand.  This was also the first chance Peter had to meet Aunt May's friend Mrs. Watson's niece, Mary Jane.  Luckily that doesn't happen but unluckily Peter can't call Betty or Liz to spend the evening with.

Issue sixteen is the first time the story starts and ends with Peter dealing with Betty and the rest of it is one long scene of Spidey and the villains.  And Daredevil, because there hasn't been another Marvel character appearing for a few issues.  Issue seventeen has the Human Torch appear as the Spider-Man Fan Club finally gets together.  No really, that's what happens.

The high school kids love Spidey so they form a club.  Everybody shows up to the first meeting, including the Human Torch and the Green Goblin.  There's standard superhero hijinks, there's Betty and Liz, another attempt to meet Mary Jane and then the big fight scene is interrupted because of news that Aunt May is dying so Spidey runs off like a coward.  There is no 'to be continued' but Ditko is clearly putting out a continuing story.

Issue eighteen has JJJ thrilled by this and the rest of the Marvel Universe confused at Spidey the wuss.  Aunt May is slightly better, Spidey is trying to figure out different ways of making money but it doesn't work out.  Sandman is going around loose and nobody can stop him.  It's an effective change-of-mood from issue-to-issue and I'm quite impressed that all the characters keep getting shown off in their roles.  I haven't looked at these issues in years and I'm not even reading them now but the interest still seeps out and fascinates more and more with each page.

This is one of the first examples of a long story being told in comic-book form.  It is known that Ditko was plotting several issues in advance although we don't know how far ahead he was.  This was effectively a three-part story - issue nineteen has Spidey taking down Sandman and the Enforcers, with help from the Human Torch - while setting up future stories.  The issue ends with someone following Peter for some reason on behalf of a mysterious character.

In this instance, it wasn't a big set-up, the mystery is solved in issue twenty as JJJ being responsible.  But he sets up his spy to become the Scorpion, definitely stronger than Spidey and JJJ actively creating another villain.  Betty is also trying to get Peter jealous by hanging out with Ned Leeds.  Despite being superhero comics aimed at kids, something about this comes off as believable character interactions presented on a day-by-day basis.

Issue twenty-one has Spidey and the Torch flirting on each other's girlfriends to make them jealous.  Issue twenty-two brings back the Circus villains as Peter and Betty's relationship keeps bouncing back and forth from bad to good.  Issue twenty-three brings back the Green Goblin and the criminal reporter from issue ten.  Periodically Ditko's stories, especially when the Goblin was involved, focused on crime gangs and sometimes with business.  This was one of the former and one of the reasons we wish he had continued on the title for a few more years.  In the first few issues after Ditko had left, Stan made sure to clear out the Betty Brant story and finally introduce Mary Jane, but I assume he wanted to continue the crime gang storyline which is why the Kingpin soon appeared.  Issue twenty-three also has someone standing in the background with JJJ who is clearly Norman Osbourne.

Issue twenty-four has JJJ trying to start a news story about why everyone hates Spider-Man and gets suckered and embarrassed by Mysterio.  Peter ends the story going out on a date with Liz.  He's been getting more confident in the last several issues.  Issue twenty-five has a great scene of him suckering JJJ into funding a robot to beat Spidey with while Betty is trying to get him to stop.  Once again, all the characters interact in a very well-paced scene, leaving Betty and Liz so angry that they storm over to Peter's house to confront him.  He's not there but they get to meet Mary Jane.

Ditko was only credited for "drawings" but a caption says he came up with the plot so by this point, Stan probably had no idea what the story would be until the pages were brought in.  I don't know if Ditko was still giving them to Stan personally or if he was just leaving them with the secretary.  After this, he would receive "plot" credit for the story.  But it must have been a big problem for him as the artist.  He had plotted and penciled the story, then he had to ink the lettering for dialogue and captions Stan had contributed.

Issue twenty-six and twenty-seven were a two-part story, continuing the Green Goblin and the criminal gangs.  Issue twenty-eight began and ended with a few pages about the girls in Peter's life and graduating high school, the rest was one long fight scene with the Molten Man.  Annual 2 had Spidey teaming up with Dr. Strange and I still can't figure out how Ditko of all people would come-up with a magician for a heroic character.  Issue twenty-nine was another long fight-scene, the Scorpion wanting revenge on JJJ.  Also Betty and Ned are getting closer and Aunt May is hiding her sickness.

Issue thirty was supposed to be a minor issue as far as superheroics go.  There was a screw-up because Steve was setting up a future villain but hadn't told Stan, who assumed the gang committing robberies around town worked for this issue's villain.  Spidey's basically useless in stopping this villain, the police solve everything.  Otherwise we meet Liz again and see that she's totally done with Peter and Betty tells him that Ned has proposed to her.  Spider-Man is keeping these two apart.

Is it the greatest romance you've ever read?  No, but it's very obvious that Ditko intended Betty to Peter's eventual love interest.  The personalities are very different but her behavior isn't that different from Dominique, the lead female character in Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead.  She'll eventually end up with the hero but goes through a lot of effort - and two marriages - before figuring that out.

Issues thirty-one through thirty-three are generally considered the high point of Ditko's run on the title.  As noted before, these issues came out overlapping with three issues of the Fantastic Four fighting Galactus, which is generally considered that title's high point with Jack Kirby.  I don't know how this was deliberate but I'm quite certain it was.

Aunt May's in the hospital.  Peter starts college, we meet Harry Osbourne and Gwen Stacy.  Gwen knows how hot she is and acts like you'd expect a college girl to act but for some reason Peter isn't paying any attention.  Part one sets up all these problems.  Part two has Spidey going to Doc Connors for help, the villain is revealed to be Doc Ock and Spidey is left to die in a flood.  Part three resolves everything quite well, except for Betty who has had enough of this and leaves.

Issues thirty-four and thirty-five are mostly fight scenes with the return of Kraven and the Molten Man, interspersed with Peter finally paying attention in college.  Gwen is getting more and more interested in him even though he's barely said anything to her at all.  She tries to get closer in issue 36, which features an odd villain called the Meteor.  I'm not sure he ever appeared again but it seems he's deliberately simplistic.  Either Ditko was getting burned out working for Stan or he was deliberately trying to make the superhero parts less interesting.

Issue thirty-seven has a villain creating robots, and working for Norman Osbourne.  Issue thirty-eight concludes Ditko's run with another meaningless villain and Peter arguing with Ned over Betty.  There were also bits with his fellow college students and criminals ganging up on him.  If it didn't have a strong ending, I have to admit I really enjoyed flipping through the pages.  I knew the stories, even if I'd forgotten parts of it.  Ditko/Lee's run is clearly part of my life and these 800-and-some pages show why.  That's not even counting the franchise built from it.

If there's a problem, other than the long fight-scenes taking up too many pages of the later issues, I would say it was that the crime gang/business subplots weren't especially developed.  You could argue that Ditko was going somewhere or that he was just using it as a plot device whenever he thought it was a good idea and that was all it ever was.  Peter was certainly growing and changing as a character, Ditko had totally stopped presenting him as a dweeb when dealing with his fellow students or with his employer.

Other characters weren't particularly changing but they were showing more complexity.  Gwen and Harry could range from being mean to Peter or trying to be nice because they weren't bullies.  Even Flash wasn't a total bully, deliberately taking all the blame for a fight with Peter, trying to get along with him at college.  Liz decided she was out of school now and it was time to grow up.  Maybe Ditko would bring her back some time in the future but probably not as a major character.

Really, it's Gwen and MJ that show the potential lost by Ditko leaving.  They were clearly more mature than Liz and perhaps that was the goal.  First Gwen, then MJ would compete with Betty to win Peter.  Wouldn't surprise me if Ned Leeds would have eventually been caught working with the Green Goblin to ruin that marriage.

Part of the problem is that comics are really time-intensive medium to work in and progress is slow.  It usually takes a month of work to create one fairly-short read.  So whatever plans Ditko had, or anyone else for that matter, it would take years to really produce a readable work of decent size.  And of course he wasn't doing it with his property, it was a corporate IP, so he didn't get final say on anything.

The reason I was thinking about Spider-Man today is because I was pondering that his creation was a deliberate act of *something* with an IP in the newly-borne Marvel Universe and I was trying to figure out what it was.  All I came up with was the romance subplot and the less-developed crime gang/business stories and, considering how none of this got very far, I was still impressed by how much work Ditko put on the page.  This is the sort of thing comics needs, fascinating readers right from the start and keeping them interested.  I don't know if I'll come up with anything else to say but I'm probably going to be thinking about these comics for a while.  This is really how a franchise deserves to be built from the ground up.

□ [“'I Think We’re Headed to a Shutdown” – Vance Slams Democrats For Funding Illegal Alien Healthcare"]

That's a given.  There's absolutely no way the left can turn around now.  They'd have to answer to all the leftists who want to burn everything down.  You've taught several generations to not be loyal to America well guess what, they're not loyal to the Democrat party either, even though they're all tied to each other.

Another problem they're facing is that this isn't the first government shutdown ever.  It's not even the first one under Trump, or the second.  Does anybody even remember the two shutdowns from 2018-19?  No we don't, but one of them was the longest federal shutdown in history.  Yet we did just fine without the government then, even though there was the same 'we'll all die!' rhetoric.  They really need to hope Antifa is ready to do something, anything.

Still anecdotal, but I'm thinking of all the youtube videos of aging women crying that men no longer notice them.  I think that's effectively what's happening here, most people won't even notice that the federal government has vanished.  Pretty sure these women voted for Harris so it's the same effect written large.  You're not appealing and people can do without you.  Bye.

□ [“'I Tell Them to Go F**k Themselves' – Nancy Pelosi Melts Down on GOP 'Sh*t' about Healthcare"]

Here's another example, a drunk old woman babbling about how she doesn't need anybody else around her.  Who is this supposed to appeal to?  They really need to hope Antifa is capable of doing something - and I assume at least some of them are - or this is who their party is stuck with.  This is the world you wanted, Nancy, except that we have the right to vote against you.

□ [“Actress Ariana Grande’s Attempt to Embarrass Trump Supporters Backfires When They Respond"]

I've heard of her before so she must have done something I'm vaguely familiar with.  [looks her career up]  Well I've heard of her anyway.  So she stupidly tweets the question to Trump supporters if anything in their lives has gotten better in the last 250 days, and many of them respond 'yes' in detail.  This is a common problem with these rich leftists, they have no clue what it's like for normal people and even less interest in finding out.  She gets to be surrounded by sycophants and those aren't cheap.

This is really who the liberal base is.  People who have never known anything about reality and were installed as celebrities to try to keep the masses in line.  And their paid employees because who but a leftist would go for a job like that?  Hollywood probably has the highest percentage of leftist plumbers and electricians in the world.  But that's a very limited number and all these activists are doing is pushing everyone else away.

□ [“Rep. Eric 'Fang Fang' Swalwell Vows to Go After Private Citizens Working With Trump if Democrats Control Congress Again"]

And this is the same thing, just the next level up.  He's obviously been programmed by his Chinese masters and mistress but he's blatantly threatening to go after the public if he ever gets power again.  It's not just that other Democrats should be telling him to stfu, it's that they've known how he is for a long time and still haven't done anything about him, meaning they feel exactly the same way.  It's just that only now are they going to say so out loud because they... think they'll win.

One very obvious thing they're missing, where are they going to find new supporters?  They spent years pretending Biden was coherent, then ditched him to someone who was even worse but had the right gender and skin color.  Then they couldn't steal the popular vote and now they're supporting shooting people to death and promising massive purges if they ever get power again.  Who do they expect to listen to this and think 'I never got into politics before but this is a great idea and I want to be part of it!'?

It's Russia so there's no way to know if this is true, or if they could actually accomplish it.  It's also strange that they promise not to send the draftees to Ukraine.  One the one hand, again, it's Russia, why would you believe them?  On the other hand, it's not like they need much help in Ukraine so to a large extent, this is probably believable.

The obvious guess is that this is about dealing with NATO and the EU who have decided to become obnoxious.  It sounds like the notion that Russian drones hit Hungary seems to have been laughed off with obvious questions like 'why would Russia just waste a few drones with they have nukes?'  It's not like the west has ever faked an attack as an excuse to expand a war.  I have yet to find a Ukraine supporter who even considers that possibility.

□ [“Hungary Says Zelensky ‘Losing His Mind’ After Allegations of Hungarian Drones Invading Ukrainian Airspace"]

Then there's stuff like this.  I'm sure it's not 100% true but there's no way to know who is lying or why.  Maybe all of them are.  But it does show that NATO is in no condition to face Russia, at least not without the US handling everything, taking all the risk and getting all the casualties.  Otherwise they'd have to figure out whether they should side with a member or a non-member who's attacking that member.

But Trump is still involved in this, against all reason.  He's supposedly going to limit the missiles he's giving Ukraine, they won't have enough range to hit Moscow.  Wow.  Truly that'll end the war immediately.  There is no sign of a serious plan here, just staying involved for its own sake.  If you need a reason for Trump supporters to ditch him, here it is.

She doesn't say exactly what she regrets, just something about "distress" and then goes on to talk about how summoning demons is totally not a bad thing to do.  Sounds more like it's just an aftermath of what she did with the demons and it's not a coincidence that these witches were aiming straight at Kirk just before he was shot.  They knew something was going on and wanted to help however they could.

A lot of people had never heard of the guy and seeing all these people thrilled at his death is not appealing.  That's not even counting the idiocy of trying to claim a right-winger did the shooting, then why aren't any right-wingers happy about it?  This is not a way to appeal to any new followers and it's possible that this is what she's really sorry about here.

□ [“Mass Shooting at Eagle Pass Casino Leaves 2 Dead, Several Injured"]

A couple shootings today, one at a Mormon church in Michigan, I think this one was in California.  And one last night at a North Carolina dock.  Of course everyone is trying to figure out who to blame for this and the left will use it as a reason to ban guns.  That alone suggests the shooters were leftists though there's not much evidence.  The Mormon shooter still has 2016 anti-Trump/Pence stickers, that's about it.

Although I'll assume they're leftists, it's quite possible they were just targets of the mindset pushed by the left, regardless of their individual beliefs.  Back in February I noticed that the left was openly admitting they're at war - presumably against the rest of us - and that does explain the insanity and violence they've emersed themselves in this year.

They were probably also inspired by the murder of Charlie Kirk and the left's approval of that.  Sorry, but until there's proof otherwise that they're die-hard MAGA, that's what I'm going with.  Until we find a way to identify who's on what side, I'll just assume it's all 'enemy' action.  It does suck to be the people involved in this but maybe it will encourage more people to be armed for self-protection.

□ [“What If Ozzy’s Song Was a Piano Ballad?"]

Not great but I liked it.  She picked one of my favorite Ozzy songs, "Mama, I'm Coming Home," although that may be just because it was the first one constantly playing on MTV when I got cable so that's what I know most.  I love power ballads anyway although I'm not sure this one transferred to a piano particularly well.  The video probably didn't name the song just to let people guess when they started listening.

Anyway I have been enjoying any number of cover songs people are putting out now.  At least I hope these are real people, we're at a point where you have to seriously wonder if it's all being done by A.I.  But assuming these are real, it's nice to hear people actually making an attempt to play music.  It's not like you can get much of the garbage from the last twenty or thirty years into an interesting piano track, or whatever.  Pretty sure no one's going to try covering a rap song on piano.

But these covers require some actual ability, playing an instrument and being able to sing.  They also call back to a time when there was actual melody and you had to get it right or your performance would flop.  We're not getting any of that from A.I. or from the modern corporate product.  They're just playing music for enjoyment, no profit and whether it's really good or not, it's fun to hear.

□ [“Oregon Files Suit After Hegseth Orders 200 National Guard to Protect ICE in Antifa Stronghold"]

A lot of antifa stuff has come from Oregon although I may have thought that was just part of being on the 'left coast.'  For that matter, these states may be competing to be more antifa than the others.  But Oregon governor and mayors have been begging the federal government to stay out so may there's something worth looking at.  What happened to 'if you're not doing anything wrong, there's nothing to worry about'?

I'm fine with that but what's happened to the other cities this has been going on in?  At this point, I'm not even sure which places the federalized National Guard has gone, much less how long they've been there.  30-day limit without Congressional approval, anyone remember that?  But now there's just leftists begging 'please, not us!'

In whatever cities this has taken place, I'm pretty sure we'd have heard if there was any big public opposition to it.  Gangs showing up to fight the troops or something like that.  And another thing, notice that there's been no attention to DC for the last month or two?  Any major crime going on that they want to bash Trump for not preventing?  Any blacks protesting because they were happier without law enforcement?  Funny how the left just suddenly ignores this stuff.  How's Chicago and NYC doing?

So there's the obvious benefits of stopping crime.  There's the fact that the townsfolk see it being done and realizing that their Democrat leaders refused to do it.  The worst of the lot are being taken off the streets, I'm sure they're getting questioned intensely about who organizations they're part of and where their money goes.  Hopefully what we've gotten so far is very valuable and we can get more.  Meanwhile the opponents don't have much to stand on.

□ [“Three Days Into Jimmy Kimmel’s ‘Big Comeback,’ His Ratings Have Crashed by 70 Percent"]

Liberals demanded a giant corporation support a rich white man and force smaller companies to comply, then the audience doesn't show up.  A lot of us assumed that would happen from the start but Disney insisted on proving us right.  And of course the left will completely ignore this, other than making sure Kimmel gets $20 million a year for a failure.  What would rich white men do without them?

Disney forced the affiliates who didn't want to air the show to comply, so now they get to share the low ratings.  The advertisers get to see how much money they've wasted for a show that people won't watch, no matter how loudly they demand it must be aired.  The government didn't make them do this.  Reportedly Bob Iger threatened to take away the Super Bowl if the affiliates didn't obey and now they're stuck with this.

So now Disney put their muscle into this and it failed.  And where is the so-called 'government censorship' they were all insisting was happening?  All Trump had to do was make a little noise and they've ruined everything by themselves.  And now they're facing real rebellion from their own people because they couldn't leave well-enough alone.  The only thing to help Kimmel would be an interview with Orange Man where he comes off as interesting.  But even for $20 million, I'm sure he's not going to do that.

They're going to try something on Wednesday when the government shuts down, aren't they?  Maybe they think ICE will somehow be shut down and are dreaming they can free the prisoners, burn the building down, etc.  That seems unlikely but these are leftists so they may be completely unaware that the chief executive will decide what parts of the executive branch will shut down and Trump, hard as it may be to believe, wants to keep ICE.

We see this sort of idiocy in California, as they suddenly have a law requiring ICE to not protect their identity with masks.  The state government thinks it commands federal employees so its military forces (i.e. antifa) are just as stupid.  And they do think they're an actual military force, they're preparing for conflict.  As is the federal government.

Another example of the idiocy.  They keep saying Trump will rig and/or cancel the elections and it hasn't happened once.  He keep winning and you never learn anything from that, you stay with the same old mindless rhetoric.  I get the impression he's not even trying to convince anybody, he just knows that their servants require hearing the same thing over and over.  Otherwise, since he's so sure Trump will cancel 2028 elections, why is Newsom wasting time and money campaigning for 2028?  That's time and money he could use to focus on problems right now.

□ [“The Defendant, His Attorney and the Judge Make Jim Comey’s Trial the Most Corrupt in History"]

I doubt I'll pay a lot of attention to this because it's not like we can expect anything important to happen, at least not on our side.  So we're being reminded that he was behind faking the Russia Hoax as an excuse to attack Trump for all these years, faking whatever documents they needed to make it happen and leaking them.  His attorney was one of those people.  The judge started his career working for Comey in the mid-90s, then again in the early-2000s.  Totally not a conflict-of-interest.

Now they'll start putting out all these stories so we want the guy punished.  I'm not sure it's going to work and not just because we know he'll get a six-month suspended sentence.  They had all these months to do this and waited this long.  Of course the media will be helping him too, they aren't covering this the way they covered Trump staff being sent to court in the last few years.  Back then it was 'prosecuting criminals,' now it's the POTUS going after his enemies.

Another problem about taking so long to do anything means we've all forgotten what actually happened at the time so now we have to trust what we're being told now.  I wrote about all this stuff for years and don't remember who did what.  Ok, I have memory problems but I also have thousands of pages to look through to try to find anything relevant.

If there's any chance this might go anywhere - I know, I know - it's that we might start getting more ties to their affiliates.  John Brennan has rushed out to defend Comey, a former CIA head who is now paid to handle the media.  We're also told that the anonymous sources Comey authorized leaks to the media for was covering the FBI investigation of Hillary Clinton.  *Maybe* the web is getting larger and will trap more relevant people.  And *maybe* monkeys will fly out of my butt.  But this is all we have to go with now.

□ [“White House List of Political Agitators — 'Gestapo' Rhetoric for 1,000% Surge of Assaults on Federal Agents"]

Congressmen and governors who recite these cliches that anyone who disagrees with them is a nazi and needs to be shot, especially government employees.  Partially they have their own fanbases and partially they link together so it becomes something their mindless servants hear over and over until it becomes a direct order and they must obey.  Might not specifically direct them who to murder but oh well, one less living enemy is one less living enemy.

Ok, nice start but what are you going to do about it?  Other than identifying enemy leaders, where can this go?  What connection can be drawn between these people advocating violence against people they don't like and their claims that they had nothing to do with someone they don't like being shot to death but they're glad it happened?  If Trump+ doesn't have an actual plan, they need to let us know so we can stop depending on them to fix everything.

I'll use the term "uniparty" for convenience, I've long suspect that these people have been working together in more than just political ways.  I've mentioned before that I think they self-identify as being part of a 'new world order' government and do not accept submitting to any particular nation or state.  I'm willing to bet that more than a few of them are just gay, and/or part of the Epstein cult, or similar groups.

I remain a big supporter of Israel but that country is probably deeply imbedded in whatever's going on here, and just today it occurred to me that these people may have all converted to Islam a long time ago.  It would explain why they can lie to the infidel, how they self-identify as part of another entity and why they're so willing to ignore when women are outside and unsupervised by a man, so they get attacked.  Basically the virus that is leftism has managed to become attached to real world powers that actually matter and is using them to push disaster upon us all.  I hope Trump and his people know what they're fighting but don't have a clue how they can win, or even inform the rest of us what's going on.

□ [“Insane Liberal Pregnant Women Chug Tylenol to Protest Trump and RFK Jr."]

I haven't been following the recent news about drug companies and whatever Trump is doing with them.  But Trump made a comment that pregnant women shouldn't take Tylenol because it would increase their baby's risk of autism.  He should have said pregnant women shouldn't jump off the roof instead because that's what these Kamala Harris fans are doing.  Videos of themselves swallowing a bottle of Tylenol and winding up very very very sick.  Reportedly at least one of them had her liver give up and she'll be dead any time now.

You have to hope this is all 'fake news' because the idea of these people being so stupid is hard to believe.  It's also as big an argument in favor of abortion as you can find, these people must not be permitted to reproduce.  Whatever it takes, their bloodline must end with them, as soon as possible.

That sounds extreme and I might change my mind at some point but if this really is happening, it's very disturbing.  These people - presumably all self-identified as female - are just pumping drugs in with no clue what they're doing to themselves, except their delusion that everything is fine.  Don't they have any friends or family who suggest checking on this first?  Not that long ago, Tylenol had warnings on the bottle that pregnant women shouldn't take it.

What do you say at the funeral of your fellow Trump-hater that decided to swallow tyenol to prove a point?  Some of them are nursers or otherwise in the medical profession, they should be out screaming 'stop!'  But this gives the sense that they've just gone too far to turn around now.  This is why an increasing number of people believe the left is possessed by demons because how else do you explain this?  Notice that Trump supporters aren't just offing themselves like this, that's something to learn from.

□ [“James Comey Indicted on Two Counts – False Statements And Obstruction of Justice"]

On September 30, 2020, he lied to Congress and said he didn't "authorize" anyone in the FBI to put out anonymous info on Russiagate.  That's it.  That's his crime.  Trump had three and a half months to prosecute him in the first term and eight months to do it this time around but they're only getting to it now, a few days before the statute of limitations ran out.

Well isn't this going to do something huge against the leftist tyranny across the nation.  Wow.  I'm... (tries to think of an appropriate word) thrilled.  Congress didn't bother to prosecute the guy for lying to them.  Sounds like he's just going to get an activist judge and the only punishment will be the waste of time.  Is this really the best they can do?

Now he gets a chance to become a leftist idol.  He didn't bother showing up to the police today, maybe he'll show up at his scheduled court date next month.  Congress gets to work on laws to protect people who lie to them and promise they'll attack Republicans this way as soon as they're in charge again.  And of course Comey insists he's innocent of everything.  What, at this point, does it matter?

Comey supporters in the DOJ are planning to resign, that's also not a big deal.  They probably don't need money, they probably do have connections and now they'll have more time to work against Trump, just as they've already been doing for years.  Apparently he also has relatives in the DOJ or SDNY and they were going after Trump too, maybe they're quitting, maybe they'll stay right where they are.

□ [“DA Alvin Bragg Lets Violent Thug Walk Free After On-Camera Assault on Pro-Life Woman"]

Assaulting a woman isn't something you can be punished for anymore because that's how leftists run the legal system.  This was in NYC.  Down in Florida, another state attorney refused to prosecute a man masturbating in public in front of children.  There have been other recent cases, activist legal officials letting their people go regardless of the crime.  This has clearly been going on for a long time but it's never been so prevalent as it is now.

Maybe they're getting bribes from Soros or someone but I don't get the impression that's a priority.  They're showing off their authority and political preference, expecting the citizens to just shut up and obey.  That's not healthy for any society as they demonstrate that law enforcement cannot be trusted.  At the very least, people are going to make a point of severely injuring the criminal right away because they know no one else will doing anything about it.

The activist criminals are certainly funded so it's possible, even likely, the judges are too.  Maybe I'm just pessimistic but I don't see a good way this can go, even if Trump is right about everything and defeats the enemy by the end of the year.  There's just too many people all through the legal and political system who are simultaneously too damaged and too powerful to just be gotten rid of, not to mention their followers.

The left may be incompetent but they're at least organized and funded.  That's a major advantage.  It looks basically impossible for them to win but that doesn't mean they can't destroy everything else in the process.  And Trump still hasn't put out any design of actual 'order' being built here.

□ [“Democrats Are Convinced Republicans Will Take the Blame for a Government Shutdown"]

Blame from who?  The people who already blame them for everything no matter what?  The Senate needs 60 votes to pass a budget, Democrats refuse to give up any votes, so that's that.  We're willing to see the government shut down and, at least rhetorically, so is the left.  Ok, let's go.

They had a chance to do this last March but reportedly the reason they gave in was because the economy was collapsing and they'd get blamed for everything if the government shutdown happened at the same time.  They don't seem to have noticed that the economy didn't collapse then and hasn't collapsed since.

I'm not quoting any government statistics because, well, they're government statistics, but they do say the employment rate is getting better and inflation isn't much of a problem.  We can see that just because gas prices haven't gone up for most of Trump's term.  If you want proof of economic problems, that's the most obvious place to look.  When gas is more expensive, everything is.  So if the Democrats were wrong about this, they could be wrong about other things too.  But yeah, it's totally Republicans' fault.  Everybody believes that.

Their political and media pets will be reciting this endlessly but it will just show the limited affect they have on anyone else.  The left will believe this but they already believe we'll all die without the federal government.  What are they going to do when the rest of us just go on with our lives?

□ [“Hegseth Summons Military’s Top Officials Worldwide For 'Rare and Urgent' Meeting in Virginia"]

I'm guessing that this is primarily about the upcoming government shutdown.  We should be expecting the left to go bonkers any way they can, so obviously there will need to be military preparations in place, along with the usual comment about plans not surviving first contact with the enemy.  They'll need to know where and how to take over if it comes to that.

Al Qaida is demanding attacks on the US, an example of other preparations that need to be accounted for.  Countless other nations and organizations could want this opportunity as well.  China, Soros, the Clintons, Antifa, any number of others.  So I think this will be centered around the shutdown but obviously that's not everything.  We're getting ready to deal with Venezuela too.

But these are just back-up plans in case something goes wrong.  Most likely life will go on as normal, as with other government shutdowns.  The left will do something and it's not clear what, but they won't have their usual protection by the government.  They're also the left so for the most part, they really have no idea what to do.

Not sure how much it's connected, but in the recent spat of videos by people whining about losing their job because they're stupid, it's surprising how many of them make sure to mention how attached to that job they are.  Even low-level employees said they felt like it was their whole lives.  That's just spooky but I suspect it's at least as relevant to government bureaucrats.  No evidence and I can't imagine how this actually works, but it's quite believable that they deluded themselves into thinking this was so important.  At least the military is a 24/7 job and even there you're entitled to time off.  But leftists aren't capable of that.

□ [“Judge Denies Detaining Man Who Aimed Red Laser Pointer at Marine One With Trump Onboard"]

I think judges are still demanding to make the rules for everybody but something about this seems to have gone quieter recently.  The Supreme Court hasn't spoken out very much lately, it's like they're just letting these activists make their attempts.  Or maybe it's at basically the same pace as it's been all year and I'm just not paying much attention.

The laser pointer guy just seems weird.  Doing it deliberately would seem to be an obvious crime, targeting the POTUS.  The aircraft was fairly low so it must have been close to take-off or landing.  Also not clear if Marine One is always a helicopter, which may make a difference here regarding how low the aircraft was.  But even if the guy was close to the airfield or helipad, how would he know that's Trump and not just another random aircraft?  We're missing some details about this.

Anyway, it's not clear how the courts are affected by the government shutdown.  I've just looked it up in several places and still don't get it.  They are affected, they're still operating, their staff might not be paid, there is back-up financing...  At least Congress is a little clearer, they still get paid during a shutdown although their staff doesn't.

So the judges will continue to operate.  We'll see if this makes any difference for the activists, or if the Supreme Court will step in and fix a few things.  Then again, the Supremes might just make things worse.  The last several years will probably be taught in civilized schools for generations as an example of why government must be kept as small as possible.

□ [“Trump Plans Mass Layoffs of Federal Employees If Democrats Shut Down the Government"]

I really want to hope this was always part of the plan.  So much has happened this year that I don't even remember how the threatened shutdown went in March, but it sounds like whatever good will Democrats had is gone.  Federal employees are one of their prized servants but the activist branch of the party thinks the shutdown will be a weapon against Trump.  One of these sides will have to lose and Democrat leaders will need to pick which.

Out of curiosity, what will happen if Republicans cave on Democrat demands?  My guess is Trump would sign the bill because why not?  They've already lost, just go with it.  If he doesn't sign the budget and Congress is in session, it becomes the law anyway.  If Congress is not in session, it's effectively a veto.  I really don't think Trump supporters would go along with this but I also don't know what response they could have.  I'm pretty sure the Republicans won't cave but unlike leftists, notice that I've given some thought to the options if they do.  Like it or not, the enemy gets a vote.

To the extent these people really are a cult, I'm wondering what their behavior will be in this situation.  Depression, desperation, possible suicide?  Or attacking other people?  There's no way to know how needy they are for a regular income, although it's possible government investigators could be very specific on who is broke and who isn't.  It seems unlikely that the better-off would be funding their poorer co-workers although that's a possibility, charity without the government.

Whatever happens will probably be totally unexpected but it's certainly fun to think about the possibilities.  The left has considered themselves to be at war for years, if not decades, so now they'll get a chance to pretend they're really on the front lines.  Or maybe they'll just beg the black community for help after all the assistance they've given them for so long.

□ [“MSM Reports on How Ukraine Is Crumbling Under Military, Political and Economic Problems"]

This was is coming off like watching a re-run of an old tv show and one of its later seasons.  It's like they're just replaying the same things over and over.  Finally admitting Ukraine is losing, Russia keeps moving forward, yet there's never any change in the war itself.  One minor change is that in his UN speech this week, Trump said Ukraine might regain all of its territory, with the EU's help.  Yeah, and monkeys might fly out of Russia.  [quick internet search to make sure that hasn't happened.]  Maybe that could be why the media is now saying this, just to contradict Trump.

The EU is also really trying to get a bigger war started, trying to get Russia to attack them so NATO has a reason to openly respond.  So of course Trump added that of course they could shoot down Russian aircraft in NATO airspace.  Which has already happened.  It can be argued that he's making some subtle point but screw that, there's no way to keep him from getting closer to being at war.

So Russia moves forward, Ukraine's logistics fall apart, drones are showing what they're capable of and this comes off as everybody getting involved in the Spanish Civil War as a prelude for the next big thing.  But that's why I compared it to a lousy sitcom, nobody else is following this anymore and even the most die-hard anti-Russians are happy to stay home and complain on the internet.  Nobody outside the region actually wants to fight this war so the elites, Trump included, deserve to be humiliated if they keep pushing it.
