This is quite funny although I'm not sure he's serious about this.  Something is being done and I'm sure there are advance troops on the ground already, but there are several valid reasons for the delay.  For starters, it'll avoid any legal problems about whether or not he can do this, although I'm sure they'll invent some reason to sue no matter what.  But that's the least of the benefits here.

Another benefit is that the elites can show off what idiots they are.  How many illegal immigrants does Trump need to arrest to have the slightest effect on Chicago elections?  That says a lot more about Chicago than anything else, not to mention the crime.  If the elites can ignore this fact, they can ignore the crime, especially since it doesn't interfere with them.  If anything, they're paid bribes for keeping criminals safe.

But the people of Chicago on the other hand, they'll have a different perspective.  They know that it's a real issue and that their city and state governments won't do anything to help them.  We see that in Baltimore with more and more videos of non-whites saying they want Trump to save them from criminals too.  Trump will affect the elections by showing the public how worthless their long-standing Democrat leaders are.

So really it's best for Trump to talk about what he can do to help these people while holding off and letting the Democrats damage their own image.  He still has the option to move in and talk about what other cities there are.  It's worth noting that Congress has no plans to vote on whether or not to expand the 30 days he has for DC, or however long it is.  [It's said he has expanded it to November 30, which I'm pretty sure is more than 30 days away.]

He might just ignore him and keep the troops there, which I don't really support but that's one option.  My issue is mainly that it will cause problems with Congress, but I'm sure he already has those.  Or he can withdraw and say he's following the law, now it's up to the city to keep people safe, unlike what they were doing before he stepped in.  IIRC the DC mayor has already requested that he stay longer, or at least told the city to help, precisely because she doesn't want to be stuck with that mess by herself when the 30 day period ends.  And this will reflect on the other Democrat mayors of the situation they might be in, all because they've let crime run rampant against their own citizens.

I'd flip a coin on whether or not that's true.  On the one hand, it's possibly the best option, but on the other hand, Trump tends towards minimalism on things like this.  I'm sure we have special forces on the ground for whatever the plan is but these forces are probably just back-up in case they're needed and to make sure no one else tries to get involved.

Venezuela has certainly been funding cartels and all sorts of trafficking across the western hemisphere.  Given their alliance with countries like China, they may be working all over the world.  So I'm sure Trump is willing to stop that with one or two big hits, then leave the region to solve its own problems.  Maduro has been in charge almost as long as Chavez was, 12 and a half years vs. 14 years and 1 month, in case you hadn't felt old today.

As I've said, I'm fine with the US being the world policeman as long as we have straightforward plans and can be a bit tougher than usual.  Venezuela itself isn't much of a problem and should have been handled a long time ago.  The real problem is what its BRICS allies are going to do and I'm sure they've been discussing it.  Putin and Xi recently had a meeting in China and this must have been a topic under discussion.

I hadn't looked up the details but a couple days ago, China celebrated the 80th anniversary of Japan's defeat, and brought in leaders from Myanmar, Pakistan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Vietnam, Malaysia, Nepal, the Maldives and Zimbabwe.  Then there was the Prime Minister of India, along with Putin and... Kim Jong Un???  If he leaves North Korea, China would be the place to go, but WhenTF does he ever leave North Korea?  This is just spooky.

Of the few news bits that I've seen on this, most are about Ukraine so they're not particularly relevant.  At least on the surface, we see no evidence that last month's Alaska summit did anything and I didn't expect anything.  This is why Trump needs to stay out of wars like this, even if Putin said a few nice things about him for trying to help.  Then there's this:

They're from China and Russia, the two biggest spy countries in history.  Not sure about Xi but Putin was very experienced in how to spy on people.  There is no way they would have this discussion in public and not take it as a given the enemy was listening in.  So what was the goal?

They're referring to biotechnology and organ transplant.  I try to avoid thinking about such things so I'm not sure how realistic that is, although I guess it's believable.  That said, who's actually using it?  There are some very old people who seem to be more energetic than anyone would expect but they still look old.  And regardless, there would be tons of media attention to people reaching their 110s and still being in decent shape, much less going on for decades after that.  So if it's happening, it's kept very very hidden.

Beyond that, is it possible?  I really don't know (obviously) and I'm very wary on if it would work, much less wanting to do it.  I can understand the appeal and I'm not saying I'm totally against it, but at least as an incredibly rich person, there'd be a point where you could afford to do everything in the world you always wanted to do.  I don't see the appeal to poor people who would just see age and weakness and having to afford all those future decades.  Maybe Xi and Putin were just trying to mess up anyone who tries to think about this, that's just depressing.  Moving on now.

I've wondered that.  Maybe not the FBI but it's believable that he was assisting some law enforcement agency.  There's a couple points about this, positive and negative.  The positive is that it's believable.  Furthermore, it's why the left has suddenly been given instructions to attack Trump for this and nobody bothers to ask why it wasn't put out last year or any time before that.  Given everything else they used to go after Trump, why hide this unless they had info from the FBI or whoever, saying 'he's one of us.'  Or worse, 'he's not one of us but has all the proof he needs on what we did with Epstein.'

So I would like to think that this is the case.  That said, it's been months since Trump said he'd release everything on Epstein.  It was all on Bondi's desk, just needed to be approved.  Then it was that the FBI had destroyed all the files, darn it.  Then it was that Trump can't believe anybody is still interested in this stuff.  You could make the argument that he's still acting as an informant but a much bigger issue is why is he still doing that at this point in his second term?

And if it was true, why would Johnson be the one to put that out?  Well once again, there are possible good or bad reasons.  Johnson could be one of the Epstein supporters and this is a way to get the truth out to them so they can avoid being caught.  Or he could be another informant and this is a way of luring them into a trap, which is believable as House Speaker.  Or he wasn't supposed to release this and here he is breaking the plans.  Or it's all a pointless distraction and he's doing his part to keep it going.

This is why this has become a bad way to go.  Whatever the real truth is will be unbelievable whenever it comes out and the Trump administration has just been wasting time not moving forward.  They can't even acknowledge that they've contradicted their point multiple times, the same kind of failure Democrats are facing now.  That's really not where Trump should be at this point in his career.

They're hoping there will be violence.  I assume they think ICE will be the violent ones although I'd bet they won't.  Most likely there will be no violence at all, they'll just arrive and walk in like federal agents at a federal building.  If there's any violence, it'll come from the Chicago government.  They may expect to have street gangs working with them but I think the odds of that are slim.  Why would they be willing to risk themselves when there's suddenly a whole city without government protection of citizens?

It's like the death-worship is linked with their tyranny and insane belief that they're at war.  There's no reason to think Chicago citizens will approve of this, at most they'll be too scared of the masters to say anything.  But that would explain a lot about Democrat-run cities.  This is where I think Trump and co. are setting up the left to cause their own failure.

And I must ask, where's Obama?  At least one of his mansions is in Chicago, he's supposed to be some sort of respected leader, at least in theory.  He and Michelle are both from there.  But I'm not aware of him making any statement on the matter one way or the other.  Of course he hasn't complained about the crime in Chicago either, maybe he doesn't want to break the habit.  It's not like he has much in common with poor black people.

No proof of course but I suspect he's been given orders to stay out of this.  Whether those came from those in charge or if Trump passed it along, who knows?  I assume groups of people have ways to keep each other in-line and that's what's been done here.  That said, I assume he'll be obligated to make a public statement if anything actually happens, empty words with nothing to back them up.
