That's why I hope the trucker strike starting tomorrow is actually serious.  I've been saying for the last two years that they should do this, but no one listens to me.  [Note to self:  force people to listen to me.]  To my understanding, truck drivers are business owners.  They own the trucks and have to jump through all the government hoops to keep driving.  I would assume there are many businesses that have hundreds or thousands of trucks, but that's for their established clients.  They can't just order everybody to go to NYC or anywhere else.

I don't know if they'll actually go on any kind of strike tomorrow.  I hope they do, and not just for NYC, but what are the odds I'll get what I want on that?  Truckers support Trump, but their industry is probably in the leftist pockets like all the others.  Still, New York has a lot of other businessowners, and they aren't going to trust the kindly tyrants who spent all these years lying about the POTUS and finally got away with something.

If we ever have a successful revolution for freedom, one of the things we need to do is forbid anybody to be in politics if they haven't actually run a business for a substantial period of time.  It used to be that way, you had to own land, but now we have a black woman with no intelligence or ability who wants to make the decisions for everybody in complete ignorance of how anything works.

I know it's California, but she should get a ton of messages tomorrow from every thinking business owner that says they're going to pack up and leave immediately if she doesn't turn around the same day.  What is she going to do, start her own business to show how to do it?  She wouldn't even think of that possibility.

It's just another example of why there needs to be a massive strike.  All of our rulers are like this.  There are none of them who believe they can actually turn things right, not if they have any brains.  Or at least no blackmail pix that can go out any time.  Their staff and media are all like this, as are all the people who can breath but still vote for these people anyway.  The only way to shut them down is to cut off all connections with them.

Finally go to the end of Genesis [the book, not the band who's only lead singer has been Phil Collins and nobody else] and it's certainly enjoyable as a narrative from the creation of the world to God's example of men and their descendants.  Most of the book is focused on the last few generations and is itself a set-up for the sequel which stars Moses.

My suspicion is that the next few books are mostly covering setting up a religion, a temple of worship, and from there working out laws to run a society.  To the extent I've gone through the rest of the Torah, that's what it looks like, but I'll hold off on further speculation until I get that far.  But Genesis itself is a coherent story even though much of it takes place above the reader's head.

The climax is the most dramatic moment.  It's difficult to figure out what it looked like to the people at the time, then there's all the changes in perception since.  Jacob just looks like he's been failing his way upward all his life and the result is the celebration of his establishment for feudalism.

Joseph's brothers hated him, so they were willing to kill him, or at least let him die, or at least sell him as a slave.  That last one is what happened, where he wound up in Egypt, and did so good at his job that he kept getting promoted.  So then his master's wife is hot for him, but he refuses, so she lies about what he did to her and he's sent to prison.  But he does such a good job there that he's still promoted.

He can even comprehend dreams that come true, which leads him to meet Pharaoh, who puts him in charge of making decisions for the kingdom.  Pharaoh's dreams were about an upcoming famine, which is what happens.  Joseph's brothers need to come to Egypt to buy food, so he sets them up, claiming they stole money, then that they stole a silver cup.

There's a few verses where the text gets very unclear, repeating words like "servant," "lad," "lord" and "father," so it's not clear who's talking to who about what.  I'm sure the dialogue works at the level we humans read it, but I also think it's part of a higher dialogue with God, so we can only get bits and pieces of it.  There had been a reference to a "crimson thread" at Joseph's birth and this may be another plotline which we don't understand.  Maybe it's mentioned in the sequels.

But Joseph finally tells the truth since his brothers didn't recognize him, they make up and the whole family is moved to Egypt.  Or rather, Goshen, because Egyptians are prejudiced against shepherds.  They also discriminate against Hebrews, as we saw earlier when they refused to eat dinner when Joseph was dealing with his brothers.  Whatever reason Egypt has for this, it's definitely their decision.

So ok, the family moves and gets very wealthy selling food to Egypt in a famine.  Nothing stereotypical about that.  To deal with the famine, Joseph gathers up all the money in Egypt *and* Canaan and gives it to Pharaoh.  But that doesn't help.  Strike one.

People still need food, so Joseph offers to give them bread if they turn all their cattle over to him.  They agree with this, so they get to eat for a year.  But then they run out, and now they have no money or cattle to get more food.  Strike two.

So Joseph says he'll buy up all their land for Pharaoh and move them to cities, but he'll provide them with food.  And they go along with that.  And they praise Joseph and Pharaoh for the generosity.  They're such devoted servants and all they had to do was give up everything.  They own nothing and like it.

It's even worse than that, the text says the people are the ones who came up with the 'buy our land' solution to the problem.  I'm just being cynical to assume it was actually Joseph's idea, maybe it was Jacob or somebody's.  Maybe Egyptians are a very different breed when it comes to getting enough bread.

There's realizing that life was very different back then, there's believing in God's higher plan, and there's wanting to smack these people in the face and ask "what the f*ck are you thinking???"  'Praise Pharaoh' is not the right answer here, even on a day-to-day basis, never mind the centuries that Joseph's ancestors had spent getting him to this point.  Egypt just let this Hebrew shepherd out of jail a few years ago and now he's effectively in absolute power.

I'm a little nervous about moving on to Exodus.  What if Pharaoh changes his mind about something?  It's not like you have the right to claim you're oppressed after imposing this tyranny on the population and saying it was their idea.  But a lot of this seems to be very, shall we say, "modern."  That's not even counting that Egypt had the habit of impregnating your sister and any number of other perversions.  Would Joseph and his family be able to resist that?

The rest of the book is mostly a summery of the rest of Jacob's life, death and descendants.  He's old and realizes that God had brought him this far, having told him about this in Luz, just before he met his wife Rachel.  He even seems to be a bit senile, mentioning Joseph's sons, then Rachel's death, then asking who these boys are with Joseph.

But he wants to be buried in his family graveyard back in Canaan, and blesses his sons, the 12 tribes of Israel.  They'll be in the sequels but this is where the main story has ended.  Jacob dies and is buried in the family grave his grandfather bought.  Even that was a tie-up of plotlines to this point.

A son of Canaan, Heth, had helped Abraham set up the deal to get the cave, as did Ephron the Hittite.  Hittites are under the Covenant of Abram, as are Amorites, who are also a subsect of Canaanites.  Abram had lived on Mamre the Amorite's land and he helped Abram rescue Lot from kidnappers.  This lead to Abram dealing with state leaders at war, where he refused to take anything from the king of Sodom [insert joke here] just before the Covenant and Sarah's cave was built at Mamre.  The covenant was what set Abram on this path, adding circumcision and changing his name to Abraham, the father of many nations.

This is one example of the theme running through long periods of time.  There's a similar one when Joseph and his brothers have it out.  They're scared that he's going to get revenge for their torment and selling him to slaveowners, now that their father is dead.  But no, it's a sign that God's plans work out for the good, even when people do evil things.  Joseph forgives them and they live happily ever after, so long as he's in charge.

When he dies, it's specified that he wanted to be brought back to the family grave, but that hasn't happened.  He had promised that his descendants would return to Canaan, and I assume the point is that they'll wait until this happens.  Wikipedia says yes, he's buried in Sarah's cave, so it'll probably be in the next few chapters, but the book has a nice dramatic exit, the coffin waiting to go back home.

So yes, it is a very satisfying and inspirational ending to the book.  It's easy to see why Jews spent the next few thousand years considering Israel as their home, and it's probably not coincidental that all their opponents refuse to accept that.  It's also very easy to see aspects that are confusing, incoherent, or just plain wrong, which is why it's far more complicated than the anti-religious believe.  Probably wouldn't be hard to find someone at least as devout to scripture as I am who disagrees with everything I've just written, yet we can both serve God.  That's the real message here.

Never let a crisis go to waste, so always cause more crises.

Yet somehow Russia is supposed to be this big threat.  Some US Senator just said we'll send US troops to the front lines to fight Russia if we don't give Ukraine money.  Money doesn't provide support and logistics to the front lines, it doesn't produce supplies, you need men to do that and it still doesn't work if the troops can't actually use them, or if they don't want to.

This is just an excuse to take from others and probably launder the money.  Notice that he's not going to risk his own life to do this, he's not *that* dedicated to the fight, he'll just send others.  He's in the Senate, he could be putting a declaration of war up for a vote, but he won't even do that.  It's more like Vietnam, which leftists remember so fondly, fighting for a nation that has nothing to do with us because *RUSSIA!!!*

Haven't paid attention to the Trump ruling, I don't even know what the false accusation was.  I assume the judge is a political hack who had the decision ready before the case even started, so what surprises me about this is that truckers are getting involved.  How does that happen and why?

If they actually mean this, I support it and think they should carry it out everywhere else for a few weeks.  But I've been saying that for a long time.  But are they really serious?  I could believe they're basically all Trump supporters, so my main worry is that this is just talk and they won't actually go through with it.  Or they'll just keep shipping illegal immigrants.  They get paid either way.

Near as I can tell, the truckers and the police are the two irreplaceable jobs in society.  We can live without working toilets and electricity, at least for a short period of time, until the gangs and thugs come out to loot.  They'd be doing that already if the police weren't there to limit them and the truckers weren't providing supplies to loot.

Someone was whining about Israel on the internet today - unusual occurrence, I know - and how they committed genocide.  That's always annoyed me because the Philistines and their supporters have been claiming that for 70 years, but their population just keeps going up, which is not how genocide works.  "Genocide," as it is properly known, is wiping out a large portion of the people in a specific area in a short period of time.

But now the poster responded by citing Article 6 of the International Criminal Court's description, where it's been reduced to "killing members of a group," "causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of a group," or "deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its destruction in whole or in part."

That sort of things happens in New York City every day.  That's not "genocide," that's lowering the standards and making up new definitions for words to use as a weapon against your opponents.  And it's always targeted against Israel which all these people want to destroy anyway.  The poster even said it included shutting off water or electricity.

The lowering of standards is what struck me.  The poster claimed that 30,000 Philistines have died since Israel attacked last October.  Assuming that's true for the sake of argument, it's less than 1% of the deaths in the Holodomor of the early 1930s.  Ukraine's population today is @30 times later than Gaza today, so the deaths were much much higher in numbers and percentages, to say nothing of the much shorter period of time required compared to the decades of accusations against Israel.

But my point is this is the excuse our rulers have used to change what words mean and to use that as a weapons against their opponents.  These opponents, by the way, are very willing to commit actual genocide, against Israel and anybody else they don't like.  It's not just shutting off the water.

But that's also why I'm getting annoyed by all this, more than usual.  The rulers obviously have a plan, and hopefully there's someone on our side who also has a plan, and they were aiming for 2024.  The point is that the year will end with one side getting everything they want.  But who's seriously willing to put these things together and work out the puzzle?  Just get it over with.

As to the intelligence agencies around the world collaborating on something like this, it's not surprising.  They're all trying to build the 'new world order,' and if someone gets in their way, squash them.  This particular incident might be relevant at some point, but it's not that interesting on its own.

That's why I'm convinced they have the plan in place to replace him.  But I can't figure out how they expect that to work.  It's getting too late to replace him on state tickets and they don't even have a replacement ready.  The bar is already so low that even Kamala Harris could qualify.  Ok, they'll just ignore their own rules, but that still leaves with no obvious alternatives which are kind of important if you want to pretend the election isn't stolen.

In theory, the rulers could just be delusion and assume everybody loves Biden the way he is, having made our lives so much better, but I just can't believe that.  They couldn't have gotten this far without somebody who'd be able to point out problems and be listened to.

Just another note about scripture, I've started trying to work out who's related to who and how they named their tribes/cities/states.  I'm only partway done, but I've noted a few things which exemplify what I've looking for, the reason I'm paying so much attention to scripture.

There's part of Numbers where they're dealing with people from Moab.  As you might remember, Moab was only mentioned as a living breathing person very early on, born after the drunken experience Lot had with his daughters after the collapse of Sodom.  And remember, Lot was the good guy who got to survive the disaster.  He'd been the one hanging out at the city gates, looking for strangers to bring home with him.

Anyway, we don't know anything about Moab, he's dead, but his land is still occupied by his descendants.  In the scene in Numbers that caught my eye, there's arguments involving the "elders of Moab" and the "princes of Moab."  This is a living city-state and it's still named after the original founder.  Some descriptions even look like it's an actual person, the identity of a nation, just as Israel is expected to be.  It has a wikipedia page, it was a real city-state.

And that's the point that's being gotten across, building a nation that stands as its own individual.  Thousands of people lived and died to make it happen, but at some level, the effect is the same.  We can see this with the land of Edom, which was an alternate name given (for reasons we'll never know) to Jacob's brother Esau.

It is fun paying attention to this stuff and I haven't even gotten into the actual scripture yet.

Another aspect of scripture I noticed in passing was also at the end of Numbers, or maybe somewhere else, but there was a recap of the 12 children of Israel and their respective sons and their tribes.  I'm just mentioning this as a note because I still need to work through the material to be sure, but it looks like some of the sons were moved around.

Nemuel was listed as a Simeonite, but he's the son of Reuben, not Simeon.  Hamul and Hezron are both called the sons of Phareh, but they were listed elsewhere as the sons of Reuben.  Zerah is also a Simeonite, although he's the son of Judah, as is Phareh.  Worth noting, Simeon, Reuben and Judah are all brothers, begat by Jacob and Leah, so it comes off as a very interconnected family.

It's things like this that tell me is actually the word of God and remembered for centuries, not something pieced together and edited by Babylonian media moguls.  If it was, they'd have fixed the typos and clarified the confusing parts.  Instead, they left it exactly the way it was.

My current theory is that they were probably just as close as it looks like.  It brings a family together, in good ways and bad.  At the dawn of civilization, men didn't know any better.  And it may well be a factual mistake, it must have been very difficult to memorize every name and relation and how would Tribe A settle a disagreement on this with Tribe B?

Or how many people can you remember without looking it up?  Can you name a friend's family members the way Jews remembered Pharez and his father Judah and uncles Simeon and Reuben?  How about their parents, Jacob and Leah?  How about their parents, Isaac and Rebekah?  How about their parents, Abraham and Sarah?  And that's just the ones who became famous and are still remembered.

How about Abraham's father, Terah?  Tarah's father, Nahor?  Nahor's father Serug?  Serug's father Reu?  Reu's father Peleg?  Peleg's father Eber?  Eber's father Salah?  Salah's father Arphaxad?  Arphaxad's father Gomer?  Gomer's father Shem?  Shem's father Noah?  Noah's father, Lamech?  Lamech's father, Methuselah?  Methuselah's father, Enoch?

That's not even counting when more than one person has the same name.  Abraham's brother Nahor had the same name as their grandfather.  The first Enoch was Cain's son.  This Enoch is the son of Jared, who was the son of Mahalaleel, who was the son of Cainan, who was the son of Enos, who was the son of Seth, who was Adam and Eve's third-born.  Who's going to remember all that?

For that matter, who has time and interest to make that up and convince other people?  If you're willing to do that, you're just not as devoted to the material as those who have believed in it since it was happening right in front of them.

You can see why the rulers want a war and why there's already increasing discussion about bringing back the draft.  That's the best way to make everyone government property, especially since they're losing volunteers every day.  Just make it official, people don't get a choice and you stick whatever you want into them if you're in charge.

Showing how up I am on pop culture, G'n'R released a video last month for a song they released last December and I'm just now hearing about it.  It was supposed to be released last October but we know how devote the band is to putting out new material to the audience.  Apparently the basic recordings go back to the late-90s, meaning it's closer to when they were a real band than to today.  It also means they've now released more official material in the 15 years since Chinese Democracy came out than they'd released in the 15 years before it came out.  Not that anybody cares, that's what Axl and his employees have been reduced to.

As a song, it's probably better than almost anything they've released since their crappy cover of "Sympathy for the Devil" in 1994, obviously a low bar.  Like everything else they've done since, it's just sounds piled together with Axl's whining vocals, there's a few bars of low volume noise, then it's repeated.  Then there's a bit of airy whining, again with repeated voculs, and then another repeat of the same verse.  It's possible there's different lyrics or vocals, but to the extent you understand any of it, it's still meaningless.

This is not remotely a song, this is just random noise repeated over and over until it just stops suddenly.  All that said, I kinda liked the sound of the band in the background of the verses.  Buried under tons of noise, but it actually might sound good if it was just a band playing and adding a competent singer.  But that's not what they're paid for.

The video is cgi generated by A.I. and it wins a point for novelty, although it doesn't do anything interesting.  Apparently G'n'R even had a press release about how proud they were to finally have something to release so they could pay someone else to make this.  If you have any fond memories of what Guns'n'Roses used to be 30+ years ago, you aren't missing anything without this song.  If you still want to hear it and have nothing better to do with four minutes of your life, I suppose you could do worse.  Probably.  It's at least 50-50.

Still trying to figure out if the elites actually enjoy this garbage or if they had really expected the world to remain as thrilled by Axl and his employees as we were when I was a teenager.  I also think they were a tool to manufacture a large amount of obedient servants, given how popular the tours have been since Slash and Duff were re-hired.  If you really want to hear Appetite for Destruction, just play the album at home, the way it should be.  Don't spend so much money to hear lousy live versions.

But I remain focused on this band, at least somewhat.  They were never my favorite, but they were high on the list of faves and about the only act on that list who didn't get together until well after I was born.  So they stand out for that, if nothing else.

That's why his schedule is almost entirely empty week after week.  She probably knows that she's lying but does she actually think people will believe her?  Who?  The first step to fixing a problem is admitting you have one, and your problem is the guy who gets older and more senile every day.  This is the wrong way to go.

So until they come up with a big distraction, this will be what we get to watch, Biden's supporters realize that they're looking worse and worse as this keeps going, while all the problems going on in the world just keep getting worse.  And this is the guy we're supposed to depend on?  Not going to work.

And it's different for each individual, but they're realizing that the structural foundations they've relied on for their whole lives are crashing.  The whole purpose of Kamala's life may be to demonstrate for the world why you shouldn't pick the man in charge by skin color and gender.  Pretending for the sake of argument that Biden's in charge, if something happens to him, then you're stuck with her, and she's deluded enough to think she's qualified for anything.

So different people at different levels are starting to turn against the masters.  I think that's why we're seeing the increasing rejection of how things are going, where even the pet media is criticizing our rulers.  This makes our rulers more desperate, determined to get everything their way before time runs out, which will probably lead to mass slaughter unless something happens first.  We'll see.  Want some Flavor Aid?

Seriously?  They're just putting the money in their secret bank accounts and will punish anyone who tries to stop them, specifically Trump.  That also tells us that the war will just keep going, no chance of it stopping in the next year.  That shows how it's not a real war and how little interest they have in what's really going on.

There is absolutely nothing Constitutional about promising impeachment if the POTUS - specifically Trump in everything but name - doesn't help give the money away to another corrupt government.  In addition to getting their own share, my guess is that this is also part of helping destroy the nation-state for the 'new world order,' which will also give them a bigger share.  And as always, they certainly don't need to worry about losing elections because of this.

But I'm sure the House will go along with it, despite being the branch where the funding bills are supposed to start.  The RINOs will obey, especially those who aren't even bothering to run for re-election.  What do you think they're getting out of this?  Other than not protecting the borders.

What amazing timing.  As the situation keeps decreasing, he gets more time off of work.  But I'm sure he'll keep working on imposing more DEI requirements, which is the real purpose of running the military.  Maybe he'll even get vaccinated again, never know when covid will be back.

He made one brief appearance since his last hospital stay, not enough to be clear if it's even the same person.  I try to avoid conspiracy theories like this - I have enough of my own, thank you very much - but is he even alive anymore?  Of course asking that just leads to other possibilities, is he a victim of a bioweapon?  Is he just old and fat?  Or my favorite, could this be a sacrifice to the demons our rulers worship?

So did Biden even hear about it this time?  I'm not saying he'd remember it or even have a clue what these words mean, just if someone went through the motions and actually told him something had happened.  This is what we're getting through the whole system, people who can't do anything and were only picked to follow the *woke* agenda, which leads to disaster.  That's the only result.

Listening to the first part of Putin's interview.  Don't know why I was thinking he could speak English.  Maybe he could back in his KGB days, but he's gotten through a few decades since, so he's probably forgotten most of what he knew.  Or he'll just keep it hidden until it's needed, whatever.  No clue if the interviewer remotely understands Russian so that must have been tricky.

I had the same reaction when I read War and Peace many years ago, old-time Russian translated to English and read by someone who speaks modern American and it was still one of the greatest written works I've ever experienced.  [Did Tolstoy write it in Russian?  I have some vague memory of hearing that he actually wrote in French, like Russian nobility used it for writing, but can't find any example or explanation.]

Anyway, Putin starts off the interview with a long explanation of the historical origins of the Russia/Ukraine thing.  It's interesting for what it is, starting out in the 800s, but the specific examples he used were less important to me than the agreements he was citing as the foundation for Russia as a nation, and by extension, Poland and Hungary.  The people form their respective nations over history and they aren't giving it up.  

This lines up with the opinion I've had for the last two years, that this isn't any of our business.  You can conquer them with war, eradicate them with nukes or accept that they are their own people with their own problems.  You're not going to change them, get over it.  If Ukraine is its own nation, they're not going to submit to Russia, which would explain the last several centuries.  Yet the Ukraine supporters line up with our tyrants and all insist that they can just make everything new.

Continued listening, mostly as background noise, but there's still a vast difference from what we're used to from our rulers.  Putin probably has almost as few people who disagree with him as Biden and has been in charge for a lot longer, so it's interesting to hear how he's responding to a standard American media figure.  Not used to being talked to this way, even when dealing with westerners, but he's trying to stay polite.  Your mileage may vary on if he succeeds, but he maintains a coherent, knowledgeable viewpoint throughout.

Your mileage may also vary on Trump, but at least he has to fill stadiums without special effects or a rock band.  Putin manages to stay rational and thoughtful for a couple hours.  Joe Biden is totally against that and that's the way our rulers want it.

Towards the end, there's a question about some event I haven't followed, Russia has had an American in prison for a year or so, who Putin says he was working for US special services and had somehow taken classified information.  News to me, I didn't even catch the guy's name, but classified information?  Really?  Even Russia has problems with this?

The reason this stuck out to me is because it's obviously relevant to the issues we're having.  There's Hillary's unsecure private server while she's dealing with Russia to get lies about Trump, there's Biden and Mike Pence keeping classified documents at home, there's the attack on Trump, there's Hunter Biden and those are just the ones we can name right now.

This also lines up with the people who've been jailed without trial since 1/6/2021.  Which people can you jail and why, at least according to "international law"?  Whatever the law is, does the US intend to follow it or not?  Or do they only expect others to do that?  Is this the sort of thing that's kept secret?

Vladimir Putin:  I would like to discuss the X-Men.

Tucker Carlson:  I liked it when Hugh Jackman played Wolverine in that movie.

Putin:  Well yes, but that's a minor aspect for a character created by Len Wein and Herb Trimpe for a storyline in Hulk.  Partially because the story was set in Canada so obviously Canada needs a superhero and partially because then-editor Roy Thomas liked the concept of a wolverine as a superhero name.

But no, I'm referring to the X-Men as a team in and of themselves and I'm primarily focused on the Chris Claremont era which is what made them the popular team that they still are to this day.  Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created the team as an excuse to not have to think of different origins for each character - I'm simplifying matters here - and both of them quickly left the title which was then handled by whichever writers and artists were available and looking for jobs, which coincidentally enough, included Roy Thomas and Len Wein.

Scheduling problems meant Wein had to choose between writing Hulk and writing X-Men and he liked the Hulk a lot more, so his assistant Chris Claremont took over.  To Claremont, it was just a summer job to bring in a little money while he was trying to get through acting school.  Marvel didn't pay royalties yet so even a successful title wouldn't make him rich, and X-Men under Claremont was not yet successful.  It did slowly become more popular but it was still a bi-monthly title when artist Dave Cockrum left.  He had similar reasons to Len Wein, he was doing too much work and had to drop a title.

Carlson:  You mentioned Len Wein, so he didn't create the X-Men?

Putin:  In a sense, yes.  This was the New X-Men and they were intended as race-based replacements for the old X-Men.  Wein and Cockrum added new characters, Nightcrawler, Storm, Thunderbird.  And Colossus whom I've always preferred for obvious reasons, go Russia!  They also added a few pre-existing characters, Wolverine, Banshee and Sunfire.  But Wein is probably best known as the creator of Swamp Thing for DC, which was also a popular title in his day.

Funny enough, Swamp Thing was rebooted in the 1980s with Wein as editor, and as the title failed, he hired a new writer, Alan Moore, who would go on to success after this.  So Wein can be seen as the creator of titles which he personally handed over to writers that were very big, very popular and very influential.

But this is getting off the point, I wanted to talk about the X-Men.

Still going through scripture.  I'm not reading it line-by-line so I'm still not up-to-date on who's related to whom, but I've been looking at the end of Genesis and realized that it basically does meet all the requirements for an epic novel, taking place across generations.  It doesn't really have an overarching plot beyond that, but it comes surprisingly close in that regard.  No wonder it was so memorable for so many centuries.

The writing's not good and it can be incoherent in places, but that's the result of remembering such a long work over such a long time before writing it down in ancient Hebrew, Greek and Latin, then eventually translating it into 1600 English to be read by modern Americans.  My interest is in the way it covers individuals who begat others into families, and then into tribes and becoming cities and nations, and the text is covering all of this.

By the end, Joseph is the star.  He'll move the family to Egypt at the beginning of the sequel, but he's already been there as a slave.  His experience there must be where the Jewish stereotype comes from, failing upward.  He's brought in as a slave but does such a good job that he keeps being promoted.  The master's wife lusts after him but he refuses, so she lies about him and he's sent to prison.  In prison, he does such a good job that he's still getting promoted, and he's even able to read dreams, to the point where he's Pharaoh's second-in-command.  You can say God is looking after him, but this just comes off like the greatest swindle of all time, and he's the winner.

But the family members keep appearing.  The reason Joseph was captured as a slave was because his brothers hated him.  They threw him in a pit and were trying to attract some Ishmeelites to buy him, descended from Isaac's brother Ishmael.  But they were beaten to the punch by Mideonites, descended from Mideon, one of Abraham's later sons, whose only other mention was his birth and the fact that he'd been slain on the fields of Moab, named the son of Lot and Lot's daughter.

It gets a bit tricky to follow, because clearly locations are named after the men who owned the land.  'That's where [fill in name] lives.'  A few years later, it's where [fill in name's] family lives, then the tribe, then they've built a city and so on.  But this is what they're doing as part of the first appearance and origin of Israel the nation, which itself was the alternate name of Abraham's grandson Jacob.  It's all tied together, which is what makes this so enjoyable.

Jacob had a dozen sons, but Joseph was one of the only two he begat with Rachel, the woman he'd actually wanted to marry.  Probably wouldn't have stayed faithful to her, given Leah, Bilhah and Zilpah, but if you're expected to father a nation, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.  Just getting the girls was scheme against their father who swatted him down with a rational argument, that Jacob had stolen 'my daughters, my cattle, my jewelry.'  This is basically how the law should work for property rights.

Jacob met Rachel just after lying to his father about his brother Esau and arguing over birthrights.  It's stated that this was the birth of 'two nations' although I'm not sure that was ever defined.  This argument was the first big conflict after Abraham had died, the founder of this religion and everything else.  Abraham had already set up his son Isaac with a wife, Rebekah, also a close family member.  Her grandfather was Abraham's brother Nahor.  Must have been some fun family get-togethers.  You can see why Moses would be very vehement on forbidding people to see their family members naked, or their spouses.

Before Abraham had given Isaac a wife, he'd been ordered to sacrifice him on an altar.  Both of them were quite obedient, so fortunately they were stopped before going through with it.  But in-between those two events, Abraham's wife Sarah had died, so they needed to set up a gravesite for her which, face it, this is where Israel was born.  This is what I mean about this being a story that runs across generations.  We can see the connections even if we don't fully comprehend them.

I'm still trying to work out how the Caves of Sarah were set up because it was clearly a major economic achievement.  I'm sure family tombs already existed, but this is where their descendants would be buried and still remembered to this day.

Even this is another example of how the family is always involved.  The children of Heth help Abraham get the land.  Heth was the son of Canaan, which is why we name the land Canaan where much of scripture takes place.  Canaan also begat a lot of the tribes mentioned elsewhere, and was also the son of Ham, one of the few survivors of the flood.  Ham had seen his father Noah drunk and naked and had to report it to his brothers.  Noah's son Shem is the actual ancestor of the descendants who became famous, but it certainly looks like Ham, Canaan and Heth pushed them in this direction.

So as you can see, this scripture already has deep and meaningful connections across each chapter, even with very few details, and I haven't even included what we know about Lot's history.  There's also the fact that, before his name was changed, Abram had already started hanging out with the rich and powerful.  That included Pharaoh, probably not the same one we see later, but just imagine what that did for the family's reputation.  "Wow, your relative knows Pharaoh???"

We don't actually know very much about how ancient Egypt operated.  Very little written information has survived and this book is probably a large piece of that, but Egypt was clearly the world superpower at the time.  This was all several generations after the flood, we know even less what had come before.

But the narrative is well-shaped.  The first ten chapters build up to the birth of Abraham (by his earlier name.)  The next fifteen chapters cover his life.  The next twelve chapters cover his grandson Jacob, and the rest is about Joseph.  The connections and the hidden meanings have run very deeply into our lives for thousands of years.  This is why I continue to insist that the Jews are either the chosen people of God, or they are under a delusion so enormous that no mortal man can beat it, so it's effectively the same thing.

I've read the Koran before, but one of these days I need to look at it again, just to see what specific contradictions they include.  The only one I remember is that it says Ishmael, not Isaac, was the son Abraham was told to sacrifice and then was stopped just in time.  I think of that every time I see an appearance by one of his descendants, the Ishmeelites.  And why did the spelling of his name change?

I also want a chance to go through all the tribes/families mentioned here and there to work out who they're descended from.  Not sure how far to go though, there's a limited amount of time and I'm skeptical on how far to look past the five books of Moses.  Then there's the internal contradictions and pieces that were clearly edited in after-the-fact.

For instance, Exodus opens with a baby being thrown in the river.  It does state that the mother is from the House of Levi - one of Jacob's sons - but that seems a bit dubious anyway, and there's no reason to think that she's one of the tribe by blood-relation.  And he's found by Pharaoh's sister?  What a coincidence.  And then a few chapters later, he suddenly has a grown-up brother, Aaron.

There's 'God's will be done' and then there's inventing some reason to be connected to this family, which is identified all the way back to Adam and Eve.  I'll go along with the lineage because it's convenient, but this seems really iffy.  There's also a chance it's covered elsewhere in scripture and I'm just not paying enough attention.  And so it goes...

It was obvious that they would do this, if nothing else, they're paid to recite what they're told to say.  None of them get into any details about what, specifically he did wrong, or even what lies Putin had to say.  This means they certainly weren't going to look at whatever they're talking about and are projecting their own propaganda industry onto someone else.  The closest they get is mentioning that Putin hasn't been interviewed by an American since February 2022, which is a very short time in his long reign.

It's strange that they don't make the slightest effort to report on the interview, only to focus on the interviewer, who should be the least important thing to focus on.  Western media just takes it as a given that they know best and anything they ignore is unimportant.  Their audience must obey, and they never question why it's getting smaller every day.  Anyone who actually wants to learn something from this has to go elsewhere.

As with Biden humiliating himself, this might be a point where the media puppets might start questioning what they're actually doing.  There's a mentality that they don't care how small their audience gets so long as they retain complete power, but there's also basic human nature, some of them must see they're going in the wrong direction and getting closer and closer to a cliff.  That means they have to turn against each other which will cause even more dissent.

The bright side is they're just going to keep making themselves look more and more foolish.  Another disaster will come along soon enough to distract the rest of us, but this isn't helping.  Jill now self-identifies as Beau Biden's mother and added in a fundraising pitch that "I can't imagine someone would use our son's death to score political points."

Her husband brings up his son's death constantly to score political points but she's not complaining about that, and claiming to be Beau's mother Neilia Hunter Biden in her place.  That place is St. Joseph on the Brandywine Cemetery where she's been for over 51 years.  Just think, someday Jill will be in a place like that and some other woman can self-identify as Beau's mother.

But what else can they do?  They can claim he's still in great shape for his age, but anyone with working eyes can see that's a lie.  Most of us have known a number of old people over the years and can tell which ones have or haven't lost a large amount of ability.  Jill gets an excuse because she's known him for so long that she can't see any change, but that doesn't work for anyone else.  Those who know Biden less than she does can see the decrease, and those who don't know Biden at all can see something's wrong with him.

It happens once or twice a decade, Hillary Clinton is actually saying the right thing.  It must be just a coincidence, no other reason for that, but still, credit where it's due.  They have to figure out what to do about this and anything other than stealing the election just makes it worse.  No qualified replacement, just a bunch of low-ranking unlikable people and a Veep who was only picked for skin color and blowjobs.

As I write this, I have no clue if the Super Bowl has happened yet or not - I was born and raised in Nebraska where we have better things to think about than football [wait, what?] - so I don't know if Trump got to make an appearance or not.  But either way, you'd really think Biden supporters would be thrilled if he just showed up or called in or something, just to show his ability to think quickly and spontaneously.  Let's see Trump try to live up to that.

Otherwise, it just shows that Biden's own people don't have enough confidence in him to take initiative.  If the election wasn't already stolen, that would be something to worry about.  Couldn't he have appointed better people?  Oh wait, people like that wouldn't have wanted him in the first place, same reason they don't have anybody to replace him with.

This time it only took hours instead of days.  I guess that's a step-up, like someone in the vicinity realized that they needed to show a bit more responsibility in doing their jobs.  So now the troops in the field - and we are sending them, like it or not, it's always being done without public knowledge - only had to go hours without leadership.  What an improvement.

I've always denied it, but there is some truth to the saying that large institutions move slowly.  We can see this with the Biden appointees who are finally realizing that they look bad and if they want to avoid being blamed for everything, they need to actually show some ability at what they're doing.  Which means imposing tyranny and "population reduction" but that's still something.

It was just a spontaneous joke I made up several hours ago, but I've been thinking about the rhetoric about the "X-Men" needing their name changed to account for all the dozens of brand-new genders.  I didn't make it up, but googling it shows that it's been going on for longer than I had expected, 2019 through 2023 based on the first page of search results.

Still trying to figure out how they even get to this position.  Just from a company standpoint, they have to throw out the corporate intellectual property that was created over 60 years ago because *now* the name is offensive.  That's what "cancel culture" is, people who look for any excuse they can find to censor anything based on the beliefs they woke up with this morning.  You can't run a company that way, or publish art work or create anything, but "cancel culture" has no interest in that.

Then there's the whole point of going *woke* which shows that they aren't remotely capable of long-range planning, or any kind of rational thought whatsoever.  For over 50 years, the X-Men have been as *woke* as possible, so naturally they're an immediate target for their own kind.  Hard as it is to believe, that really shows that leftists aren't as dangerous as they want to be, because attacking each other is much easier than anything else and they're all about keeping it easy.

I think it's the focus on image that gives them whatever credibility they have.  They get so offended, so whatever they're offended by is to blame.  Most people aren't remotely interested in fighting them so they can just keep expanding their power.  They're not more dedicated to their beliefs, they're just more willing to fake it, and they have a lot of experience there.
