We would have had world peace by now but my kitty won't go along with that.

Deranged Leftist Tries to Kill Elderly North Carolina Man Over Trump Banner
September 6, 2025

The US is totally capable of faking attacks to justify military action, do you really think we'd automatically believe it when someone else does that?  I admit I was amazed that talk about this just vanished immediately.  Apparently even the UN had a big meeting about it, which shows the status of the UN these days.

Ukraine would have had a lot of pieces of Russian drones lying around, it wouldn't have been hard to put them together and use that as a fake.  It's the sort of thing you really should look into before devoting yourself to war, but other NATO members are at least claiming they've upgraded their defense.  Well, they've written papers about it.  Germany says it will increase its troops by 2029.  Um, they made that promise before, promising to to reach a certain number by 2018 and still haven't done that.  So if Russia invades before 2028, there's no problem.

This is ridiculous, get out of the negotiations!  The conditions are that all of NATO must refuse to buy Russian oil *and* impose their own sanctions.  That's stupid.  Russia can just sell it to China and the rest of BRICS.  Meanwhile some NATO members depend on Russian oil.  This isn't a switch you can just turn on and off.  Meanwhile Ukraine is attacking the oil pipelines, damaging those NATO members, and it's been a couple months since Trump said he'd give up within two weeks if there wasn't peace.  He's not going to make this work, quit with the loses you already have instead of pushing down because you think it'll work *this time!*

I really am getting the impression this guy was given a brain injury so he could pass the required standards to be elected as a Democrat, then the injury was healed so he can really see what these people are like.  Since his 'recovery,' he has been one of the sanest members of the party.  I don't know if that's changed any of his votes but at least it's something.

But that's not what the left is doing, as we see around the world.  They're rushing out to show how loving and peaceful they are that they support murder.  We expect it from celebrities, they're rich and famous enough that there's less pushback.  It's surprising how many of these people are teachers or government employees.  We're already getting videos of them realizing that they've been fired and hope there will be a lot more.  As is being pointed out, they still have free speech, now they can face the consequences.

Don't know if it's established or anecdotal but it's also been noted that most of these murder supporters who think the world needs to hear from them are female.  Well, that's believable, they've already had to live without facing the consequences for their actions.  Men are expected to handle things for them.  Now they'll see if George Soros or whoever will pay for their lifestyles.  Probably not.

As for the celebrities, I'm far enough away from pop culture that I'm really only noting those I followed in my sordid youth.  Mark Hamill sounds like he's doing everything he can to drive people away from the One True Trilogy of Star Wars.  Stephen King sounds like he's not used to being disagreed with, which makes sense as he spent most of his life sitting at a typewriter.  But for some reason he seems to have an urge to be in movies now as an old man, and just wasted a movie that came out this weekend - starring Mark Hamill - by quoting fake statements from Kirk that he read on the internet.  Of course there are other old famous people doing the same thing.  Somehow they don't think karma will get them.

To an extent, they're still trying to push that the assassin was a right-winger.  Despite his, um, association with transgenders and increasing evidence of his support for antifa.  If nothing else, they could at least ask why the left is so thrilled by what he did.  Maybe they could shoot one of their own famous people to show gratitude to this supposed "Trump supporter."

Wow, notice how all the attention has gone away from this in the last week or so.  It sounds like Chicago is still up in the air, refusing to keep its citizens safe from criminals.  We must be reaching 30 days in DC, the POTUS will need congressional support to go beyond that.  Or IIRC the mayor has asked for help, so maybe that's enough.  I keep reading that troops have been in Los Angeles for a while but don't recall when or why that happened.

Posse Comitatus keeps being mentioned, one of those important legal acts that has been remembered for a long time.  This makes it illegal to use active-duty military to enforce the law unless there's a specific disaster or something to that effect.  The law was passed in 1878 and I'm guessing it was about ending the Northern occupation of the South so Democrats could run things the way they wanted.  Ah, the things you learn from history.

It's not clear how many Democrat mayors are starting to realize that they really need help fighting crime and their Democrat states aren't going to help but their Democrat voters are royally pissed off.  This makes it convenient timing for so many loud Democrats to announce their support for murdering anyone they don't like, suggesting that they aren't opposed to other crimes either.  Not that they're in any danger themselves so who cares what happens to other Democrats?

We'll see how many Democrats are sane enough to want to stop fighting this and how many are willing to pick up guns and make it worse.  It reminds me of the potential for disaster with the War on Terror.  The Afghanis had been willing to fight the Russians for over a decade and won, I don't think anyone in the GWB administration expected to take over the country that easily.  Then there was Iraq, which not only had all of Saddam's connections to terrorism, but there's Baghdad, the most important historical city in Islam after Mecca.  I still say both wars would have been much better if we'd gone in tougher, without early-21st century liberalism, but the point is, what we're facing now could be either a huge battle or a much easier-than-expected victory.

I wonder how many people are checking just to see if they recognize anybody.  I know I'm checking, the site itself says they're over 60,000 submissions by now.  So many that they haven't checked everybody and, near as I can tell, can't currently be searched for what they do have because they're still processing.  But it will be interesting to see what happens here.

It's going to suck for anyone looking for a job with employers who don't openly support murder.  It'll be tough to complain about the consequences for what you say when you're fine with people being shot to death for what they say.  It's not just that a potential employer is worried you'll embarrass the company by supporting murder, they'd have to worry about what you'd do if you get mad at someone at work for what they said.  You'd have to hope there's a lot of leftist employers who support this, and maybe agree with you about how bad capitalism is.

There will probably be a lot of entertaining videos of them crying about this, although eventually they'll have to realize this doesn't look good either, especially to potential employers.  But then they'll get the response that at least they're still alive.  The guy they wanted dead doesn't get that option, so what are you complaining about?

It'll also be interesting to see how they deal with their friends who support the murder but for whatever reason aren't desperately in need of a job.  Will they actually get assistance?  Or even emotional comfort?  I'm detached enough from that part of society that I can't even conceive of what that must be like for anyone involved.  I still know virtually nothing about the dead guy or what he said beyond what the left tells us so in a way I'm in an ideal position to watch this.  If I ever have some free time, I'll try to see if there's any convenient videos giving a sample of what he said that appealed to people, but it's not a top priority.  In the meantime, this is a tremendous experience to watch.
