I have no idea what's going on but the internet has been getting worse for months.  Safe to assume Microsoft is totally in on it.  I tried to open a word document.  A half-hour later, I'm still waiting.  The other word documents I use aren't available so I can't work on them.  The excel spreadsheet I use isn't available so I can't work on that.  The internet access is way down.

Things just keep getting worse everywhere.  We've gone from 'the vaccine will stop the virus' to 'the vaccine cannot keep you from getting the virus or giving it to others' to 'the virus can kill you even after you've been vaccinated' to 'keep getting vaccinated over and over' to 'it's non-vaccinated people's fault!  Kill them!'

Makes you wonder what the second half of the year will be like.

Well, I was right, they are trying to install the multiverse.  This trailer looked horrible and that was before the really unlikable Dr. Strange showed up.  I was amused to hear a brief voiceover from the only actor who should ever play JJJ although he wasn't identified.

It sounds like a really stupid story, then they went into talking about the multiverse.  Near the end, a Green Goblin bomb was dropped although we don't see who threw it.  Then Doc Ock's arms, then the actor who played him in the second movie from the first trilogy.

So ok, they will be trying to utilize whatever non-Disney franchises they can add.  Dunno if this will be all of them, no idea who's going to play Wolverine when they finally bring back the X-Men - not that it matters, you could count on one hand the number of movies I've ever seen Wolverine in - but that's what they're going for.

They obviously have to know that people really don't care which studio makes which movie but probably do care which actor plays which character.  It's almost the inverse of how Marvel and DC worked all these decades, the company and the characters matter, who writes and draws the comics doesn't.

I'm not sure how they'd work this out.  At some level they have to realize that Alan Moore and Frank Miller actually brought something that others didn't and Neil Gaiman set an example from there.  How does this get applied to making a single movie, much less a franchise?  The actors are going to get old and die no matter what, everybody else is already replaceable.

The British Parliament held Biden in contempt last Thursday for his loss in Afghanistan.  And he's the guy claiming our allies agree with him.  We have no allies greater than Britain and never have, we came from them.  I might be missing something but I also can't think of Parliament voting contempt for a POTUS before.  Of course they still have the military over there to rescue their citizens who all-of-a-sudden really need protecting.

And Biden just makes himself look worse.  In his only actual interview, he blames Trump, denies his years of insisting he'd pull out immediately, ignores that the Taliban didn't break up with Al Queda like they'd promised to and didn't try to make peace with the US-supported Afghanistan government who, by the way, hadn't supported the peace agreement.  He also claimed his dead son was still alive but couldn't remember if he'd served in the Army or the Navy, deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan.

It's not Trump's fault the Taliban wasn't remotely trying to live up to any agreement and he was willing to stay there against their will, Biden (or whoever's really in charge) was totally fine with them being in charge.  And now they rule more of Afghanistan than they did 20 years ago.

Don't forget another advantage the Taliban get from us immediately running away, we didn't have time to shred all the information still in those offices, including every bit of data we had on all the Afghanistanis who helped us in any way, where they live, what they look like, all that stuff.  You know, in case they want to have a chat.

If I didn't know better, I'd think I knew better

I do have to wonder if leftists are having some problems dealing with betraying Afghanistan.  Obviously they'll get over it because only power matters but they see women being executed for not being in burkhas and have to wonder why somebody isn't doing something about that.  They wonder why other nations aren't doing anything about it and they were all following our example, or they've always been opposed to us with much applause from the left.  It's not like China or Iran are saying that homosexuality is perfectly natural and the Taliban should be more respectful.

They have to keep insisting that Biden is totally right about everything even though he was clearly totally wrong and doesn't seem to be remotely bothered.  It's not like invading Syria on Day One, the Taliban had to wait several months to realize that this wasn't a joke, they could do anything they wanted and the President of the United States could do absolutely nothing to stop them.  Well, he didn't do anything to stop them and it's not a positive look to claim 'he could have stopped them if he'd wanted to.'

He didn't remember what he had said two days go and claimed he had said the opposite months earlier.  He has no idea if he was told to leave the military in Afghanistan.  He's only spoken with the leader of Britain and Germany once in the last ten days, no other foreign leaders.  He's not scheduled for any public events.  He claimed they planned for every contingency which suggests they deliberately wanted the Taliban to get thousands of Americans.

This only works on people who don't know anything.  It doesn't take seven months to plan a military operation or to change them.  We had soldiers in Afghanistan a week after 9/11, D-Day kept getting changed until almost the last minute.  The military is totally capable of doing things, the idiots in charge aren't.

But they're so happy to celebrate "Pride Month," just imagine how many more gun-battles can be won with that.

Or on a more serious note, just imagine how many "Pride Month" supporters will be so outraged by this that they'll pick up their guns and head to Afghanistan.  You'll have to imagine it because obviously they don't have the balls to do anything.

Leaving aside that she's obviously lying about asking 100% of Americans, how many of that 95% agreed with Biden a month ago that the Taliban had no chance of taking over?  I bet just as high a percentage of Americans agreed with Biden then too.  He must know what he's talking about, right?

He voted for the war when it started, he had eight years as Veep to watch it - and wasn't he officially supposed to be handling it then? - and he got to see what a disaster it was when Obama suddenly pulled all the troops out of Iraq so ISIS could take over.  Assuming he was paying attention, we're nearing the 20th anniversary of it starting.

Or is this one of those things where CNN doesn't ask Americans what they think unless the answer is what CNN wants so we'll never know how many agreed with him a month ago?

Maybe it was just 2001, but my opinion is that we should have announced Afghanistan would be a permanent move-in.  I was thinking of the Monolith, we'll be there as long as need be to make them learn how to be civilized human beings.

And yes, I would have lowered the rules of combat.  You kill one of us, we kill 20 or 30 of you.  As long as it takes.
