What's that word for things you can't remember?
Several years ago, I spent a few days putting together a list of how long Democrats ruled the South and how long it took for Republicans to start winning elections, despite leftist pretense that all the evil racist Democrats ran over to the Republican party in 1963 (or 1972). The list is available in my book,
Invasion
, but I've been pondering it again.
For starters, in almost everything I examined - governorships, congressional elections and Presidential votes - it took years for Republicans to show any growth. This is a simplified version, but for instance:
Virginia had 2 Republican governors before 1877, the next was in 1970
South Carolina had 3 Republican governors before 1877, the next one was in 1975
Texas had 2 Republican governors before 1877, the next one was in 1979
Louisiana had 7 Republican governors before 1877, the next one was in 1980
Alabama had 2 Republican governors before 1877, the next one was in 1987
Mississippi had 3 Republican governors before 1877, the next one was in 1992
Georgia had 2 Republican governors before 1877, the next one was in 2003
North Carolina had 3 Republican governors before 1877, the next one was in 1897, the next one was 1973
Florida had 3 Republican governors before 1877, the next one was in 1966, he lost re-election, the next one was in 1981
Arkansas had 4 Republican governors before 1877, the next one was in 1967, he lost re-election, the next one was in 1981
Tennessee had 3 Republican governors before 1877, the next one was in 1881, 1911, 1921 and 1971 – The Nashville congressional district has voted Democrat without exception since 1875.
Notice that none of that falls into the liberal myth and the rest of the elections I checked mostly fell into that category. There were exceptions such as what you see here with Tennessee but they were just that, exceptions. The biggest exception is that hey did start voting I always wanted to check state records but that would be a lot of work and I've never been able to find actual records of what parties won which elections for mayor and city-council. I was able to add many large cities and capitals in
The Fall
, but it's still incomplete.
It requires believing that Democratic voters are just stupid. Which may be the case, but the notion that they swapped out a bunch of idiots for a different bunch of idiots is odd. It requires them telling blacks that Democrats have been totally wrong all these years and should never have been elected, so vote for them now! And there's no loss of office anywhere across the Confederacy in the process.
It's more sensible to think that they knew how to keep blacks in one place. They had already been doing it for decades, they've continued it for more decades. LBJ even noted that the party would have them for 200 years. Which is exactly what's happening. They already knew how to keep blacks where they wanted them.
□ [“Dinesh D'Souza: "What Is Identity Socialism?"]
This is a very good video and goes straight to defining the issue we face, transferring Marx' class system to race, gender, etc. That's a very good point and probably the most important part. I'm a little less convinced that it all falls on Herbert Marcuse, a San Francisco professor, although if D'Souza is wrong on the specifics, he probably gets the basics right about kids in the 60s being trained by leftists to turn against society and becoming the next generation of teachers in the process. He certainly identifies the transition in socialist views, a good explanation of why they're all into rich people and large businesses and opposed to working class and small business.
What I think he's missing - and it's not a complaint, this is a short video and very well done - is that it misses the overall 20th Century-in-process. The Baby Boomer generation grew up with greater wealth than anyone had ever seen in history. Their parents had only just started learning about indoor toilets and refrigerators, now they would see television, space flight and the internet by the time they reached middle age. This has never happened before and however much human nature has remained the same, the living experience has altered unbelievably. No King of England has ever had as many sex-texts as an average high-school girl.
Still I'm going to be pondering this and hope to use its inspiration in my "History project."
