Do you want sharks with laser beams on their heads? Because *this* is how you get sharks with laser beams on their heads! Now that I've got your interest...

The band that's been around for over fifty years is finally at the end of the line.  It's not official, there's no promotion like Ozzy had that this is the end of the road, but that's clearly what they're doing here.  They're too old to keep going.  Steven Tyler's medical issues made them announce in 2024 that touring was permanently over.  He's made a few live appearances since, showing that he can still sing, but everybody just took it as a given that they wouldn't be going out again.

In Tyler's case, he may be busy.  I've noticed more attention has been given lately to his 15-year old girlfriend back in the early-80s.  He may be busy answering questions to do anything else.  That's another reason this is similar to Ozzy, he died a day or so after his big show.  Nobody has mentioned 'assisted suicide' but that's obviously what happened.  Tyler may be setting up that same ending.

Another similarity is that they made sure to bring back drummer Joey Kramer.  He was kicked out a year or two before the touring ended, my impression is that he was just too old to handle that physical labor anymore.  If I was in charge I'd have kept him there to play tambourine or something but he has to be there, he's the one who came up with the band's name.  Ozzy made a point of bringing back Bill Ward for the finale, Black Sabbath's least-relevant member.

As a show, I'm not that interested.  As an Aerosmith fan, I'm glad that these guys get a decent send-off.  I might see some clips after the show, and maybe some of the listed 'friends' but it's not that big a deal.  I will admit interest in how these big rock acts are at a point where they can still do this with all the relevant members.  Off the top of my head, Led Zeppelin is the only major band that could have that sort of finale.  Jimmy Page even has the same underage girlfriend issues as Tyler.  There's also Guns'n'Roses, who still has all their original members alive, and the same underage girlfriend issues, "My Michelle."

It's also curious how this suddenly came together.  The shows were just announced and they're only three weeks away.  Could somebody be getting ready for a Halloween surprise?

Speaking of Guns'n'Roses, their part in the Aerosmith finale may also be moving their story to the next chapter.  The 'smith announced the show and the list of 'friends' and I was surprised to see Duff McKagen listed fairly high on the list.  It makes sense that he'd be there but as a solo artist?  And then a couple lines down, there's Slash.  They're both there but not together and without the band that they're supposed to be members of?

A day or so later, it got changed so yes, Guns'n'Roses will be there, that big band who used to open for Aerosmith when both sides were at their peak.  Aerosmith were desperately trying to stay away from drugs on the Permanent Vacation tour and G'n'R, well, weren't.  Appetite for Destruction hit #1 on Billboard during that tour, a year after it had been released and by all accounts both bands did well together, personally and professionally.  So why weren't G'n'R automatically on the list for this final show?

Most likely it's because of Axl Rose.  He's spent decades surrounded by toadies who keep the real world away as much as possible.  Axl's only public statement in years came several months ago when he had to testify in court and admitted to not even knowing he was legally the CEO of the band's businesses.  He didn't even see why it was a big deal.  Neither did Fernando, his "partner" for lack of a better word who also testified under oath about his ignorance of who ran the businesses he and Axl set up.

So my guess is Aerosmith asked G'n'R to take part in the show and got no answer.  I'm curious if Slash and Duff received the same invitation or if Aerosmith's management contacted them separately.  Of course they were glad to take part and were probably more willing to explain dealing with Axl to Aerosmith than to the G'n'R audience.  So that's what they did, you see Duff's name on the list, ok.  Then Slash, huh?  Axl's people probably had the same reaction so they needed to find out what's going on and then inform Axl and ask if he wanted to be there too.

This reveals one problem in the G'n'R franchise which will lead to the next problem.  Axl's vocals are gone.  They're worse than pathetic, they're embarrassing to be part of songs that are still pretty cool.  And that's all he had aside from his skills as a front-man back in the day.  Now he's old and his weight goes up and down but he's in no danger of ever being skinny again.  The band's last tour wasn't selling stadiums and he certainly can't put out any new music.  But now he suddenly has to get ready to do something quickly?  This is Axl Rose we're talking about.

I haven't heard anything about his performance at the Ozzy concert but G'n'R ticket sales have dropped since then.  So it's possible that a bad performance for Aerosmith will make things even worse.  I'm still amazed that they've gotten away with it for all these years but I'm wondering if that's over now.  Given their origins in the drug and sex world of Los Angeles and all the connections from there, I think they've funneled a lot of money around to the wrong people and now the bill is becoming due.  Axl will find out how many people around him were only there for their own reasons and who actually ran the business.

The attention is already going away.  The longer this goes on, the more you have to ignore what she actually said.  And that makes you look bad to anyone who does know what she said.  It becomes very clear to others that you're ignoring the truth to push your own political agenda, which depends on false accusations against others.

It's still too early to see what effect this is really having but my guess is the majority of people are normal and want nothing to do with this.  A leftist site I pay attention to has mostly ignored this and I suspect it's because most posters are old white people.  At some level even they know what young women are like so it's easier to just ignore this unless at some point it becomes useful to them.

The ripples keep growing just around the case itself.  Lucy Craig's lawyer is filing lawsuits against the frat boys - not sure if it's a group or as individuals or what - and picked the wrong guy who had the same name with one of them.  He was in the Marines and was deployed when the incident happened and the lawyer didn't put the slightest effort into seeing if he was the right guy.  That's a pretty big level of incompetence to pick a random stranger to attack for some for of "justice," especially in a case with this much attention.

They're still trying to build this into some political weapon.  NY governor Kathy Hochul - who replaced Andrew Cuomo after he resigned for sexual harassment - and AG Letitia James - who tried to persecute Trump for anything, including massive financial charges that went up day by day and also breaks tax laws for her own properties have appointed - have appointed Sally Yates, who helped on Russiagate and fought to protect the Clinton Foundation from investigation.  All of these self-identify-as-females have nothing better to do than investigate Cornell right now.  James has already posted on Facebook that she supports the female accuser so you know how unbiased they are.

This will keep growing.  I think the reaction is getting louder too.  I've noticed a lot more social media posts from (have to assume they're) men and sane women openly disagreeing with this rhetoric.  From females, they're speaking out that this is the wrong way to go.  That probably means more to their opponents just because of gender.  From males, I've noticed it's a range of comments.  Sometimes it's serious argument, sometimes interesting observation, sometimes it's just funny, making a comment that there's no reason to think they believe but just watch the reaction.  This will continue.

These are still going on.  I always ignore French riots so I don't know if this is the usual practice, if these are different somehow or if the reporters just want us to think they're different somehow.  Leftists and Muslims are teamed up, just like Iran 50 years ago, but we've also seen that happening for years.  There's a reason US Muslims vote Democrat.

We don't know how the French public will react.  There's a video running of people at a cafe chatting or playing on their cellphones while behind them, rioters set fire to stuff.  It's a living version of that meme of a cartoon dog sitting in a room on fire and saying "This is fine."  This does not help the stereotype about what the French have been reduced to.

I think the effect will be men going on strike.  I don't know how that'll work, and it's France so they don't work anyway, but I do suspect that's what each nation is dealing with.  They're supposed to have a reputation for the people showing that they can get rid of their leaders and once upon a time they were able to fight off invaders.  But I gotta admit, compared to Spain, Britain, Italy or Germany, I think France is the big nation closest to death right now.
