What a wuss.  He wants his set maintenance to starve, his camera operators to be homeless, the caterers to go out of business and their employees suffer, all to benefit...  Ok, I can't figure out who this is supposed to benefit, but it certainly doesn't help the strike, or anyone else who doesn't threaten people into obedience.  But that's leftism for you.

But other than them, at least no one's losing a thing from this decision.  The audience has already gotten used to living without Bill Maher for five months (or longer) and Maher certainly hasn't had to sell any of his mansions.  But whoever's in charge of the strike is really going out of their way to demonstrate that nobody actually needs them, which isn't a good way to handle a strike.

Reportedly California is trying to pay the people on strike so they don't have to work anyway.  No word on if that will apply to any other workers who are being hurt by this.  On the one hand, it would be pretty stupid to willfully deny those others food, rent and such, but on the other hand, it's California.  They need to show their elitism and refusing to help those who are suffering is the most obvious way to go.

Things are starting to get very weird around the world, even worse than a week or two ago, if you can believe that.  And one example is the leader of Canada threatening the most populous nation on earth for killing a Canadian, Hardeep Singh Nijjar.  Ok, he only moved to Canada in 2015, he's from India, working for a Pakistan-based resistance movement, and Trudeau was informed by India that Nijjar himself was a murderer, so now Trudeau is blaming India?

Dude, this is where you start a war.  If you're claiming he was a Canadian citizen, you're the one who failed to protect him.  India said he was a terrorist back in 2020 and you've known he was threatened since summer 2022.  So now you're blaming another country.  If only Queen Elizabeth II were still alive, both sides would have a monarch they could turn to and settle this.  But now...

Your side are the ones who wanted their nations torn down.  You couldn't be bothered to see if there was any problems with that.  Look at Pakistan and India, they've always had problems and they always will, but somehow you thought they'd magically become Canadian citizens of the world and didn't even notice that contradiction.  So now you have to hope BRICS doesn't defend their members and NATO is remotely capable of supporting you.

Ok, trying to figure this out.  Ukraine filed in the World Trade Organization that its allies refused to start buying Ukrainian grain.  The EU is also complaining about its members not buying buying products from a non-member.  Is this like Obamacare where the government tells you what to buy whether you want it or not or is the EU just showing that it's the only one making decisions?

Keep in mind, these nations daring to disagree with their masters know what this is like, they used to be Russian property.  They didn't really enjoy that status at the time and probably aren't all that willing to go back to that.  And if you think about it, some of them spent centuries as Ottoman territory, so they know what it's like to be rule by foreigners with no sense of unification.

This is an interesting challenge, these individual nations have to disagree on defense of another.  And the rulers insist that everything be done their way, no exceptions, no one is allowed to make their own decisions, on behalf of a nation that isn't an ally.  This sort of thing makes me think of the genius of our founding fathers in designing federalism.  Virginia couldn't be run the same way as Massachusetts and it would be stupid to try, never mind the other 37 states that joined after this original decision was made.  The point is to solve problems at the lowest level, the opposite of how tyrants want things.

But siding with the outsider against your own side?  That's just ludicrous.  I'm trying to think of an example in history, or fiction for that matter, where this has been done and doesn't classify as "treason."  Or in the case of the masters, blatant totalitarianism.

Remember when Democrats voted for the Department of Homeland Security?  And then they complained that it was fascism?  And now they just keep adding more and more to it to fight whoever they decide are "terrorists"?  All that in 20 years and they don't even recognize the changes.

At least a straightforward monarchy or dictatorship has a direct chain-of-command, defining who's in charge of whom.  The rulers might change their minds and purge someone they promoted yesterday, but there's still that basic concept.  The problem with leftist tyranny is that they keep making up new groups to supersede the ones that came before, without getting rid of the ones that came before.  Since seizing power is the objective for all of them, as well as oppressing everyone else, they end up turning against each other.

One aspect of the rulers' goal which seems to have been handled well is to very slowly expand the tyranny.  It's just been a normal part of much/most of our lives, so people might say 'reform' but they don't say 'dissolve.'  I don't remember if my complaints were DHS-specific, but I generally supported the post-9/11 changes under George W. Bush.  I thought these new additions would be beneficial under GWB, it was those who followed him that would bring the real problems, and that's where we are now.

But not for lack of trying.  Just the fact that you make them waste time memorizing all these brand-new genders proves that.  It has nothing to do with military preparedness but you just keep pushing it.  Then there's all the soldiers you fired because you wanted to shove a long, hard shaft into their bodies to ejaculate fluid and they wouldn't let you.  They are government property and you don't accept any disagreements.

So why don't you just film yourself for some advertisements, insisting that the military really really really isn't as woke as people say it is, so please increase enlistment numbers, pretty please!!!  Or you could just get a bunch of 20-somethings 'voluntold' to sign up right now.  Show off your authority, that's what you've worked for all your life.  You're the one making these claims, why not prove it?

If the military was doing so well, you wouldn't have to keep lowering the standards just to get a handful of people to enlist.  Furthermore, you'd see serious problems with doing that, but obviously you totally support that.  This shows that you have no business being in uniform and should probably be executed for treason.  Maybe someday we'll get to see that.
