Thinking about the calendar.  The months would be established by the fact that the full moon and women's periods happen on a regular basis, and just counting how many times that happens in between that time where it gets really cold and snow falls from the sky.  Those who've figured out how to plant and grow crops would also see a benefit in keeping track of this.

The problem is that there's no hard-and-fast way to count it.  28-day months, ok, that works, and teach your daughters that the women who don't fit into that pattern probably worship demons and must be executed.  Those people who spend years living in the same cave could even figure out how to count the number of times this happens, so they'd have a written record to ponder.

But if you do that long enough, it would be clear that a 28-day cycle doesn't match up to a full year.  So then you have to figure out what to do about that.  I assume there were various options that different tribes decided to go along with, the thirteen-month year or something of that nature.  It doesn't fit in with the women or the moon, but it can be taught and expanded.

Religion probably found a way to advance with this.  Need to think of some excuse why it's like this, so whatever deities your tribe has probably made it happen for some reason.  This also motivates people to pay more attention to the calendar and sooner or later, someone might figure out a better way to keep track of it.

According to wikipedia, the bringer of truth, the Babylonian calendar is the oldest one that we have a reasonably accurate establishing date.  The year lasted 360 days, closer to accurate than before.  Must have been fun to work out, they still need to track the moon but they also need a month that shows up at the same time every year with as many days as every other month.  It looks like they made two calendars for that reason, though I can't figure out how they worked them together.

But what does sound believable is how this would work for a young and growing empire like Babylon, or Sumer or anyone else who had worked it out this far.  This is where the calendar would really become useful because you could make plans over the course of several years.  Genesis has Joseph getting Egypt to prepare for a famine in seven years by building up the crops from the seven good years.

Just the basic requirements of this plan would be a massive increase in administration as well as business.  There's keeping track of how much food people owe Pharaoh, and how much needs to be set aside for the state religion.  Then there's how you're getting wagons to move the food where it needs to go and how it's accounted for.  If you're using actual money instead of barter, you'll need to invent banks, which probably existed long before Babylon and were already complicated institutions by the time the Code of Hammurabi officially recorded them.

So the Jews didn't invent the calendar, they just based in on whatever Egypt was using at the time, but their version has become more influential to western civilization.  Of course it's been much more developed over the centuries, I'm just having fun thinking about the motivations to getting this started.

This is just generic leftism.  They all believe this and uniformly oppose it.  They oppose the nation and refuse to accept that they exist for a reason, or that each nationality is different.  They also oppose Christianity, the most successful of earthly religions.  She's not going to say such a thing about Muslim nationalists and without even looking it up, we know she opposes the Jewish nationalism, which is where the whole concept of nationalism came from.

But I think the main opposition comes form opposition to God, and not in the sense of just opposing God, but in favor of collectivism.  God exists above the government and the left self-identifies government as absolute control of everything.  That's why they want to be in charge, but as individuals, they're incapable of seeing this own contradiction to their beliefs.

We can see this with their blatant ignorance of the rational point that whatever the government gives, it can take away.  We saw this with all the leftists and RINOs insisting that we don't have freedom so just get the poison-vaccine.  Then there's the fact that the government made abortion legal, so it can make abortion illegal.  We can see this with how China keeps changing how many children women are required to have, and that number is going up recently because they don't want "population reduction."

All these concepts which have nothing to do with their stereotype of "Christian nationalism" and they ignore all of them.  It would require too much thinking and then they wouldn't be permitted to appear on government propaganda media, another right the government gave her and it can take away from MSNBC whenever it wants.  At least according to her.

This is actually a little worrisome because they're, y'know, French.  As much as I support the protests, this sort of thing could blow up much bigger than anybody expects.  But being French, they're also making the point about nationalism.  The fact that these protests are happening all around Europe points out where real internationalism stands.  We all want the same thing, freedom, it just means different things in different countries.

And just next door, another nation's rulers are finding problems when giving up centuries of neutrality to side with the 'new world order.'  This isn't going to help Switzerland and that should be their priority, but for some mindboggling reason, it's not.  You don't get a peace summit if one side isn't going to show up.  They say they're in talks with other members of BRICS on the matter, but don't even mention which nations, so that's obviously not going to get anywhere.

It's not like I don't see the benefits.  I'm negotiating with Disney for publishing rights to my books, comics and music.  Disney isn't around, but other than that, it's a very successful negotiation.  I do hope they show up soon, I've rented a lot of hotel rooms for their lawyers and that's not cheap.  I'm also dating that sexy neighbor three doors down and it's been just as successful.

That's not even counting how many citizens of Switzerland want to remain their own neutral country and not be another toy for the self-appointed world elite.  Some internet article cites a poll from May 2023 that says about 93% of them don't want to get involved.  It's a poll so it's automatically untrustworthy, but that would mean anybody who's not in the government and/or a sycophant wants to keep as far away from this as possible, and they're the ones being ignored by the rulers.

The more you tighten your grip, the more systems will slip through your fingers.  This is why I think the rulers are basically headed for the Flavor Aid, using either nukes or bio-weapons.  This is what the war is about and they want to keep us as ignorant as possible until we're dead.

A.I., like all computers, is limited by its programming to what it can learn.  This defeats its use as a tool and demonstrates why this if a fundamentally bad idea.  The director, who self-identifies as a white male, really doesn't like white people.  Unlikely he'd hire anyone who disagrees with him on this, so the A.I. has only one way to be programmed.  They don't want a tool other people can use, they want a tool to use against other people.

Google and Microsoft are both part of the "Big Five" information technology companies, safe to assume Apple, Amazon and Meta (Facebook) are just as obedient.  By extension, so is every other business.  If nothing else, they need internet access.  So this 'get rid of white people' propaganda is being pushed everywhere and they'll all openly help leftists steal elections to gain more power.  And for their owners, more money.

They don't even comprehend their own obsession with skin color and basing all decisions based on that.  Surely this sort of person existed before the internet was invented, what did they do with their lives?  And for that matter, why is this information coming out now?  It's clearly been known for a long time, just like the visitors to Epstein Island, yet hasn't been revealed until now.  Something is behind this and there's no clue who.

Has he ever made a bad stock deal in his life?  Or at least since married Nancy?  Well, this will help him pay for more drunk drivers and strange men coming by his house in the middle of the night.  Wonder if Nancy will know about that?  But then, does she even know about the wealth her own husband is bringing in?

Obviously it's bribery and is totally permitted by the laws Nancy herself gets to write.  How is it a bribe if you're telling a family member where to bring in tons of money without problems?  This is probably why Diane Feinstein was so rich, it's certainly why AOC is no longer in debt but now has $20 million.  There's all the other members of Congress who get their family member highly-paid jobs at big companies.  That's not even mentioning Hunter Biden.

I have to admit, I don't have a clue how this problem could be fixed.  Bribes are going to happen.  The closest we could get to eliminating them is for the government to have no authority, so a bribe would be a waste of money.  Otherwise the bribed will write laws that only they know about so they can obey whoever pays them enough.

As an example, there could be a law that every member of Congress has to list all family members and everything those family members invest in.  That isn't going to be tracked and even if it was, it wouldn't be hard to find someone else who could take the bribe and still get away with it.  The original idea was that members of Congress wouldn't be paid much so only the rich would have time to be involved, but that didn't work out well either.

□ [The Drew Barrymore Show | The Facts of Life Cast Reunite to Surprise Drew on Her Birthday"]

Well ok, there's something to look at this weekend.  No idea when or where this episode will be aired, but I simply can't deny my affection for the show.  Not Drew Barrymore, I've seen very few things she's ever done in her life and I'm fine with that.  She's only a year older than I am and over a decade younger than the girls she's sitting with, but she looks much older than all of us.

Unfortunately, Kim Fields was not included.  As far as I know, there's only been one public appearance by all four girls since the show ended.  But you take what you can get (and what you get is usually bad.)  So far there's been just a few clips but yes, I do like seeing them again.  Most of the clips just have the girls telling the usual anecdotes, or else Drew talking about herself.

That said, one thing I liked the most was a clip where Drew is going through the various characters and compared Jo and Blair.  Actors do often have to re-enact their characters from decades ago, to remind us of how we liked them, so Mindy interrupts her and barks 'what about me?  What about me?'  That's not Mindy, that's Natalie.  :)

I still want a 30+ minute show of the four girls interacting again, probably covering the death of Mrs. Garrett, and what facts they have to show for all this time.
