□ [“Anthony Weiner Plans Another Political Comeback, Files to Run For Office in NYC City Council"]
In case you forgot, Weiner was the beard for Hillary Clinton's lesbian girlfriend. Weiner was arrested for wanting sex with children and that marriage kinda broke up after that for some reason. No word on where the Clintons would find such people. Anyway, it's clear that Weiner has no other skill a civilized nation would find useful, all he had left was to get into politics again.
What's unknown is how much support he gets from the cabal. He might be considered a sensible back-up move to promote. Or this maybe a last attempt to help him before going on without him. Or those in charge may have already ditched him and this is all he has to keep going with.
□ [“Pete Buttigieg Weighs Run For Michigan Governor in 2026 or President in 2028"]
And this makes Weiner look good. At least he's from NYC and can limit his goal to the city council. Buttigieg just moved to Michigan and already thinks he can be in charge of the state, or even higher. He's been mayor of a small town and that's the farthest he's ever gotten politically, but he just fails upwards.
Since he doesn't bother with election results, he can ignore the complete failure of a month ago. Everyone who agrees can keep pushing this and ignore reality for as long as possible. They've barely gotten started on this, unless something big and unignorable happens. We aren't remotely out of danger yet.

□ [“Zelensky Calls for Diplomatic Settlement, Defends Idea of Foreign Troops Deploying to Ukraine"]
He defends the "idea" of it. Not sure if that's just insisting that he wants to join NATO immediately or if it's a reference to the western troops who are already on the ground. The former isn't an option and the latter isn't something he should make public. His western allies will just look worse for getting involved with a conflict that has nothing to do with NATO.
□ [“Zelensky Says Putin 'Only Fears Trump,' Refuses To Lower Conscription Age From 25 to 18"]
Then there's a mixture of humor and WTF? The implication is that this is what Trump has been pushing for a month now. Stop the war, negotiate peace. Russia and Ukraine have made a bit of noise to agree, but here Zelensky is bouncing around. It's just rhetoric, but he's talking like he expects more help from Trump than from his actual supporters, like telling your girlfriend she'll get replaced if she doesn't stay in line.
And it's been mentioned all throughout this war, but why does Ukraine not draft 18-year olds in the first place? I don't think I've ever heard of a draft that didn't include those before getting around to the 25-year olds. They're just younger, healthier, easier to control and, like it or not, more expendable. The only reason I could think of is that they're somehow still considered children, but if that was the case, Ukraine's government would be far too insane to have lasted this long under any circumstances. They'd have fallen apart even if the US was sitting there and making all the decisions.
It'll be difficult to filter through, but this looks like Russia and Ukraine are both recognizing a real authority who's stepped and said 'enough of this.' Both sides will have to work this out through their allies over details we'll remain ignorant of. This is also going to have effects elsewhere in the world, as we're seeing in Syria right now.

□ [“US Launches Strikes in Syria"]
□ [“Turkey Bombs U.S.-Allied Kurds in Syria While Backing Radical Islamist Groups"]
Reportedly we're hitting and Turkey is supporting ISIS and ISIS-allies. At least Turkey has a long-standing claim for that territory no matter who's there, but the rest of this looks like it was all a fake. Was ISIS created by the US and our allies as a pretend-threat? Or a way to get others like Iran involved? It was part of a big scheme, there's just no clue what it's intended to achieve.
Gotta admit, I don't have a clue what this part of the war is about, but it suddenly broke out. Are we sure that the Air Force is hitting ISIS bases or something else, like biolabs or other secrets that were being kept because nobody expected Trump to take charge again? I don't know what those would be, but it's certainly believable.
I say this as someone who totally supported the War on Terror, I don't have a clue what they're trying to do here or why. We could have handled Iraq and Afghanistan better and it certainly shouldn't have ended the way it did, I also know that we didn't limit our actions to those two countries. But I don't see a point to what's going on now, which is why I think it's more about getting rid of evidence before Trump becomes commander-in-chief. There's a lot of things the rulers of the world want to keep secret.
Iran had agents there, they've fled. Al-qaida's commander (or an ally; it's not clear) now claims to be ruling Syria. A lot of them will want a new sharia law imposed. Others are probably still members of the Ba'ath party. Then there's all the history of the region, which goes back many thousands of years. I'm not sure Syria could ever be a real nation in the modern sense, it might as well be broken up for Israel and Turkey, so we'll have to see what happens from here.
