□ [“Canada Cancels Tax on US Tech Firms, and Trade Talks Resume Between the Countries"]
Trump says 'drop this tax,' the other country makes some noise and then drops the tax. Still not seeing any real wins like people being arrested or names coming out about the elite conspiracies and trafficking, but short of that, there's been quite a few victories in the last five months. Basically every country on the planet seems to have gone on the defensive, at least those that have to deal with the US economically. And the left needs to ignore how they kept insisting inflation would skyrocket and the stock market would crash.
The Big Beautiful Bill sounds less and less appealing. I'm certainly not going to make any guesses about this but my suggestion would be to hold it off for a year so that Trump has a lot more wins to basically tell Congress how to handle it. By then, the left will be so overwhelmed that they can't do anything about it. Just a thought.
I think the Big Beautiful Bill has made it through the House and Senate and now they have to put the two versions together. This is where they set the example of 'how the sausage is made,' the sort of thing few people want to pay attention to. But Trump keeps backing up up these wins and even though it's his final term, that doesn't seem to be very effective.

□ [“DOJ Sues Los Angeles Over Sanctuary Ordinance, Citing Supremacy Clause"]
What is LA supposed to do about this? I can't imagine they have a chance of winning in any court at this point, there's simply no justification for it. Other sanctuary cities can't help, nor can the governors. And just last week the Supreme Court spoke out about judges trying to give orders to the executive branch. It's like this was planned.
The Supremacy Clause places federal law above the states and is part of the Constitution. Can't give the states precedence, can't overrule federal law and can't pick and choose which federal law to obey. I assume this is similar to the Army where I learned that lower units can have their own rules be stricter than Army standards but not more lenient.
□ [“AOC Under Federal Investigation for Employing Illegal Aliens and Helping Others Evade ICE"]
This could be interesting. A member of Congress openly defying laws written and passed by Congress. She's not remotely ashamed about it either, although that maybe because she has no clue what she's doing. We'll see, but it's safe to assume she's not the only congressman doing this or breaking other laws. I would hope the others are also being investigated and AOC just gets attention because she's popular at the moment.
It's suddenly come out that she's not a poor Bronx chick. No Joanna Marie Polniaczek, someone just found her high school yearbook and she went to school in a much higher class neighborhood an hour away from the Bronx. And people are just looking into this now?

□ [“Kamala Harris Talks to Democrats About a Bid for California Gov, 'No One Is Incredibly Pumped'"]
She has no idea what to do. She's still young enough that she can't just sit around if she's not being paid for it. I'm beginning to wonder how many rich leftists are actually closer to going broke than we know. They oppose money so they never bother to learn where theirs came from, and they spend way more than they have. No idea how common that is or if it applies to Harris but it's interesting to think about. If her finances are drying up, does she have more options than, say, Hunter Biden?
She also thinks she's still relevant, which shows how out of it she really is. She wasn't picked for ability, except by her married boyfriend mayor and that wasn't the sort of ability that could be publicized. Joe Biden openly admitted she was only picked for gender and skin color, no other reason. Then he was kicked out of the race and there was no one else who could replace him without winning a primary, so the whole party was stuck with her. And since she lost, she's stayed almost entirely out of the public eye. She could be out giving speeches about how she fought against whatever Trump is doing, but no one wants to listen to her.
Worst of all (depending on how you look at it) is that the party doesn't have many better options than her. They've kept old rich people in charge for decades to get older and richer so there's little room for young people to start being noticed. Trump himself is quite old but he's also surrounded by younger people who are noticeably doing the work. Harris has never been in that situation. Hell, even Biden tried appointing her to various positions and then a week or month later someone else was doing it. That's where the term "border czar" came from.
So what else could she do? This article insists she wants to set up a Clinton Foundation-style form of bribery but that only worked because back then, the Clintons were still theoretically a work-in-progress. They still had Hillary. But that's out and Chelsey's even less capable of doing anything than Harris. But Harris can't set anything up and nobody has any reason to keep bribing her. If she's running out of money, there aren't any options.

□ [“Pride Founder Who Repeatedly Attacked J.K. Rowling Online Gets 30 Years for Child Rape"]
Is there anybody in the 'gay rights' movement who doesn't rape children? If so, why aren't they going after the child rapists in their own communities? This just seems like an obvious thing to do, showing that they really aren't that sort of person. Especially those who become celebrities. They suddenly get access to everything and everybody and no reason to restrain themselves.
Maybe this is going on in their circles and we just don't hear about it. I do suspect that's happening elsewhere in typical leftist organizations. Blacks, women, many of them realize how they've been controlled all these years by the left. Whatever's wrong with America can be fixed but these people just want it destroyed. Everybody sees that they have to pick a side or it will be chosen for them.
And Rowling isn't even American. This is a worldwide phenomenon. I've got to think that at this point, Trump could drop dead and the movement would still continue. Hard to believe this only started, or at least only became public, because enough people didn't want Hillary. And as these gay rapists show, they're all on her side and that's why they're going nuts.

□ [“Jim Shooter, Marvel Editor-In-Chief Through Crucial 80s Era, Dies At 73"]
If people from comics are actually famous, Shooter was famous for most of his life. He started submitting stories to DC in his early teens. He went into advertising in his early adulthood but soon came back, writing for DC and then moving over to Marvel where he eventually worked his way to the editor. Marvel was in lousy shape and he did re-organize it, adding more editors and becoming the editor-in-chief.
Unfortunately he had a very limited mindset. He does get a lot of credit but face it, he wasn't very good at writing, editing or being in charge. He dumbed down the Marvel line. It helped sell more comics but that was largely from the speculator market in the new comics stores. Since Secret Wars was a guaranteed hit, he didn't give it to anyone else, he wrote it and although I liked it as a little kid, it's very bad. But it was successful so he held it as the standard for the rest of the franchise to follow.
He tried and failed to purchase Marvel and was fired. Afterwards he attempted to start a few companies which also failed. But he stayed around the industry, at least as a celebrity. I never actually met him but was at a convention he attended and passed by his table. That guy was huge.
So he did bring a lot to the comics industry but I'm not sure how much of it was positive. But it's also not clear how much he brought that someone else wouldn't have done if he hadn't been around. Paying royalties to comics creators? Killing Phoenix in X-Men, then bringing her back for X-Factor? Introducing the world to the sassy, misunderstood Boom-Boom? Kinda depressing to realize that he contributed so much and has so little of a legacy to be remembered.
