Day seven without a federal government.  This is great, we're running full speed to take down that tyrant Trump.  He thinks he's so powerful just because he's the only one in the government still working.  He doesn't have any idea what it's like to fire people but if government workers ever get their jobs back, he'll learn.  Or maybe they won't come back at all, hunh?  What about that, you orange man?

We're the ones with all the great ideas and we don't need any sissy government to do things for us.  You might as well give up now and let us have the government doing everything we want.  And make it quick because my former co-workers are applying for the same job at Starbucks that I applied for and some of them were actually better at making coffee than I ever was.

He suspects Schumer will get several Democrats to vote with Republicans as a favor to him.  He'll owe them but it needs to be done quietly, so he'll complain in public.  No idea if that's true, I never met Schumer, but it's certainly believable as standard Senatorial behavior.  You've got the leftists demanding the shut-down because it's the only way to win bigger, more powerful government, and then there's everyone else who's asking wtf are we doing this for?

I can't trust polls so there's no evidence, but I do get the impression that people are increasingly sick-and-tired of what the left is pushing everywhere and it's coming to a head with this shutdown.  Kennedy put out a list of all the ridiculous spending Democrats want to restore if they get their way on this shutdown and the more attention that gets, the more people will ask 'seriously?  That's what's more important to you than a functioning government?'  Basically they're increasingly looking like losers every day.

Then there's the way Trump gets to use this as an excuse to cut the government even more as long as the shut-down lasts.  He's willing to take all the blame although Congress could do something any time they want.  He also gets to handle the increasing wars without interference.  Then there's the fact that, as usual, most people don't even notice the government is absent.  That's just not a good position to be in but Democrats insisted on it.

I'm not even going to try to guess how long until Democrats cave in [although I will estimate that within three days, I'll completely reverse myself and make a guess anyway.]  Otherwise they don't have many options other than joining antifa and declaring a new Confederacy, separate from this country forever.  The only way that could work is if they've already spoken to China and are ready to let it take over on Day One.

Assuming he hasn't done it already and just hasn't told the public.  By now I think it's pretty clear that this was the reason for the government shut-down, to give him free reign to fight the left.  The only question is if the Democrats and the uniparty knew about this in advance.  I think so, at least their leaders did.  I'm pretty sure they'd need to be notified of executive plans like this, the targets and the overall goal if not every specific detail.

Democrat state and city leaders are going to need to answer for why they support these criminals.  Maybe put them in these neighborhoods without bodyguards.  As a prominent Democrat once said, "only when people feel pain personally do they move on policy."  Just think of how many Democrats would be won over if we put that into action.  Chicago gangs are already offering money to kill government agents or provide information leading to their murder, something else Democrats can make use of anywhere they want.

Yes, the government is indeed antagonizing and people want less of it.  Problem is, the left never applies that to themselves.  Which is arguably what this war is really about.  There's an amusing video from Portland of a group of very old, very white people who think singing "This Land is Our Land" means anything.  Tell that to the Chinooks you took it from.  They must know that nobody is seeing this and is suddenly won over to their side and I'm not sure they even expect any attention for this.  If there's only one way to make these people change their policy, well, that's what we have to do.

Sounds like he's going to need to make some people change their policies and there's only one way to do that.   They aren't cancelling the fundraiser because the party is dumping him, although that may eventually happen.  They're just going quiet because the whole party agrees with him but don't want the public to know about it until it's too late.

They're trying to cover for him.  From the media to Hillary's veep choice, they just say it was an inappropriate comment but he's apologized so just forget about it.  They don't realize that this is the same sociopathic behavior that Jones demonstrated, that they should just get what they want and that's that.  If anyone disagrees, well, find a way to make them change policy.

In January 2022, several months before his comments on August 8, Jones was arrested for drunk driving.  As a Democrat, he was only punished with a few hours of 'community service,' and he carried that out by working for his own campaign.  The judicial system and the guy who wants to be in charge agreed that this was the right way to go.  No word on if they punished anybody else the same way, because "equality."  For driving 116 mph.

His line about "only when people feel pain personally do they move on policy" sticks out because it's a very simple explanation of what they're doing and why.  At no point is there a question on if hurting people is wrong, it's all about changing them.  This is sort whom the masters pick to oversee the other slaves, i.e. the rest of us.  All we need to do is treat them with the exact same viewpoint and they'd be wiped out.  We have the majority and the guns.

I *think* some of them are starting to realize that but no idea how many.  It's typical for leftists to just sneak away in the dark instead of publicly stating that they disagree.  Until they're willing to do that, I don't think they should get any pass.  As far as I'm concerned, they all agree with Jones and should be treated accordingly.

I'm not a big Rush fan and even if I was, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't qualify to be as devoted as the *real* Rush fans are.  I do respect them, I've heard all their albums, although I have to check to make sure they didn't release anything else.  If they're playing close enough to me, I'll buy a ticket, but it would be more to say I got to see them than a major urge to hear them live.

But I'm glad they're doing it.  There's the obvious excuses, they're old, they could use the money from one last tour, doesn't sound like they have the slightest interest in doing another album.  The replacement drummer is female, of course.  I'm not one of those people who think Neil Peart was the center of the band.  One of my favorite Rush songs is "Working Man" from the album before he even joined.

One thing I do like about Rush is their integrity, virtually their entire career was based on the same three guys.  The two survivors shouldn't have to give everything up for that and I don't think the fans mind either.  Rock'n'roll is in its waning days because 'most everyone important is an old rich leftist, or they're dead.  So might as well get a last moment to appreciate what they brought, and gratitude for devoting their lives to this.  They're giving a 'thank you' to the fans, so it'll make a nice end of the story.
