□ [“Gavin Newsom Flips Out Over Trump Ordering California National Guard Troops to Portland"]

Maybe people who are actually interested in chess have a better view of the strategy, but the rest of us are still seeing the moves being made.  A judge just blocked Trump from sending the Oregon National Guard to Portland so he sends the California National Guard.  I bet this sort of thing was discussed at the military meeting last week.  Newsom flat-out admits he has no authority to stop this and just babbles off with generic leftism.

'Oh, they'll sue Trump for this.'  For using his authority, the National Guard has been federalized and the Constitution Article VI Clause 2 says the federal law overrides state law.  In this case, government officials are being attacked and the state government refuses to enforce the law.  'Trump is doing it for his own ego.'  Uh, no, if you enforced the law, Trump wouldn't need to do this.

I've been saying this all year and will probably keep saying it, but for all the irritating things about Trump as POTUS, this really is the sort of thing his supporters voted for.  He's taking a hard attack on the illegal invaders, the leftists who support them and the elites who fund this.  He's also making a point of relying on basics found in the Constitution itself, as well as other long-established laws like the Insurrection Act.  I'll continue to criticize Trump when I see a reason, but the worst thing I have to say about this is 'why didn't you do this in your first term?' 'fer cryin out loud...

Day five without a federal government.  You kids don't know how lucky you are.  Back in my day there was a federal government everywhere.  We couldn't start a business or buy a gun without them sticking their noses into everything.  And they demanded to be paid for it.  Now you just think everything is fine, of course there's no federal government.  Well we had to work for it, sonny!

Now I know some of you are thinking 'hey, maybe a federal government isn't that bad.  Maybe we should try one.'  I'm telling you now, don't start.  And if you have started, stop now.

□ [“Trump Calls for Virginia Attorney General Nominee Jay Jones to Drop Out of Race"]

All he wants to do is kill people he doesn't like.  And their children.  He says so in public.  What Democrat would be opposed to that?  Do you think they've been totally ignoring the guy since his 2022 post?  They knew all about it.  If any Democrat sees anything wrong with this, they should ask why no one else in their party complained.

But they didn't so now they have to stand up to defend an aspiring murderer because he agrees with them about Trump.  And then they have to tell the public that either you go with this guy or, well, you won't like what his reaction.  Just obey Democrats, that's the best way to go.  That's why you have an attorney general in the first place.

“Well again, I am so deeply, deeply, sorry, for what I said, and I wish that it hadn’t happened and I would take it back if I could.”  He was almost smiling when he said this.  There's certainly no shame.  He doesn't even bother to explain how, exactly, he decided children must be murdered.  Voters need to know his decision-making process.  I get the impression he sees no negative consequences for him.

I'm guessing the party will quietly push him into the background and pick someone else just like him.  Might want to check his posts first, just in case.  The party mostly appeals to this sort of sociopath so it'll be tough to find any other alternatives.  The important thing is that they don't get caught.

□ [“CNN’s Abby Phillip Chokes, Admits Trump’s Middle East Policy May Be ‘Major Victory for Him’"]

Trump is far less obsessed with himself than these people are.  He's actually trying to think of what's best for this region and the people there.  I have a lot of complaints about how Trump is handling these foreign wars but I limit that to what he actually does or is trying to do.  As we've seen countless times in just the last several months, these people would rather see death than accept Trump did anything to help.

I go back-and-forth on what the Nobel Prize people will do.  Trump has stopped more wars than anybody else and put more effort into stopping the wars he hasn't stopped, so just based on the requirements for the award, it's a guaranteed win.  But the Nobel people are totally leftist, so that guarantees they'll avoid giving him the prize.  Notice that the wars Trump has stopped were all among non-white countries, how can you possibly give him applause for that?  The Nobel people would just have to explain that to their fellow leftists and... Just skip Trump.  Mass death is better than giving him positive credit for anything.

I really don't expect any success with this Israel policy, but for some reason these people on CNN think it has potential.  That's why they're so upset, Trump might be succeeding yet-again.  And that itself is entertaining.  Not sure how it qualifies as "news" but that's CNN for you.

□ [“Elvis As Han Solo - A.I."]

A.I. is getting better very quickly.  I'm not the best judge of these things but I only saw a couple obvious mistakes, mostly Leia and Luke's appearance and one scene where Elvis had the wrong color pants.  But beyond that, Elvis' voice was good, his physical behavior was mostly good.  There were a few bits where he's looking at the camera, which is believable because he's Elvis, but I get the impression A.I. would have had anyone else do the same thing, which doesn't work.  But it's surprising how close to real a lot of it was, chatting with the film crew and drinking coffee.

Hollywood is definitely looking in the same direction.  They just announced an A.I.-generated actress.  I have no interest in looking at any clips but examples like this show that they could get much more believable very quickly.  And then what will these obnoxious wealthy celebrities do?  Or anyone else?

I have certainly enjoyed the surge of actual musicians doing actual music, covering songs from decades ago.  To an extent, that will probably make a comeback, especially for people who really don't want to deal with A.I.  But if A.I. is capable of doing the actual song - instead of pasting the lyrics over generic melody - people might use it to hear a Beatles album played like a slow blues band, then tomorrow hear the same album by a grunge rock band.  People with very limited musical abilities might still try to write their own songs and then give it to a competent A.I. band to hear it done for real.

Soon you could do the same thing with movies or animated cartoons, deciding camera angles and visual effects for each shot.  Tell the A.I. actors to perform in a different way and do another shot.  I come from the comic book-perspective and am anticipating a time when I could get my comics drawn and lettered competently.  Every few months I'm looking to see if there's any breakthrough, haven't found one yet, but I have the finished pages, I just need them done well, i.e. by someone else.

I've even started working on a new comic, having written and laid-out 24 pages in the last few days.  At the rate things are going, by the time I get around to finishing the planned book, we may be at a point where I can just scan my finished art into the computer and give instructions on how it should be reproduced.  These are very spooky times and this is looming over our heads, but might as well try to be creative about something.
