Day eight without a federal government.  I just know Trump is begging us to come back but not for a million gazillion dollars!  Not until he spends a gazillion dollars on the things we want!  Like health care and sunny days and that girl who smiles at me.  Give me that and maybe we'll think about re-opening the government.  Well, I won't, I'll be busy living out my fantasies with that girl, teaching her how socialism and DEI really works, but you get my point.

But I'm trying to figure out what the federal government did for us.  We're surrounded by men-with-guns and we're attacking those evil government workers and anybody else who gets in our way.  Frankly we're having more fun than we did when there was a federal government.  But don't tell anybody.  If Trump supporters find out we're enjoying this, they'll want to join us and that would just be too much.

Trump's given us reason to not trust his appointees and I'm sexist anyway, but I do still try to be optimistic when I hear things like this.  The Insurrection Act is hovering directly above these people and they've had a week or so to show what Antifa is capable of.  They haven't put up much of a fight so far and I'm sure everything possible has been done to determine how much they have in back-ups.  Quite likely we've sent drones out to track whoever's in charge.

Sure, they have the gangs on their side but that's not a solid alliance.  The gangs will just go for chaos and victims, turning against anyone else.  That's the nature of gangs, they run their territory as a tribe and that means it's tough to get them to connect with anyone else.  Ooooh, the mayor wants help fighting the feds!!!  Maybe the gangs can be bribed, they're disposable anyway, but it seems iffy at best and not something you can do repeatedly.  This applies to Chicago as well as Portland.

Meanwhile, the federal government just has a lot more people they can send in.  I'm not saying it'll be completely effective, there will always be a level of resistance, but these are liberals so even that will be pretty flimsy.  It also looks like more and more people are supporting the Trump administration, given that this is clearly connected to the government shutdown.  As a revolution, this is a complete failure, as a Civil War, they're very badly outnumbered, and as a political strategy, it's going to be tough to find enough votes to steal to win anything for this.

Of course they are.  As media, they are inherently leftist, especially those owned by giant corporations.  If they started telling their viewers what's going on, they'd basically have to shut down tomorrow.  That's why they're comfortable to stick with an ever-decreasing audience.  They're not going to change their policies until they feel pain personally.

Fortunately for them, this lines up with Jones' sudden absence from the public eye.  I think it's likely that he'll be kicked out of the election sooner or later but there's still a chance he'll stay in.  Since the media's not covering him, the party might just expect the D after his name to handle things with the voters.  They've got a lot of experience to think that'll work for them.

It's not like Democrats themselves are willing to speak out.  Checking leftist messageboards, they're basically the same as the media.  To the extent they acknowledge what Jones said at all, they just say 'that's bad' and then go back to ranting about the tyrant Trump and how we're all being put in camps and there's mass 'population reduction' and whatever.  Not that long ago, they were terrified about the upcoming war with Iran, now they've forgotten all about it.  The people in charge of the Democrat party know how to handle these people and assume everybody else is as easy to control, as long as they keep the media subordinate.

Because Hamas is so trustworthy.  There's no reason to think they're going to go along with this for real, they'd lose their status in the Muslim world if they did that.  If nothing else, they'd lose the next election in Gaza.  They've always been about wiping Israel off the face of the earth and aren't going to change their minds just because some paper has been signed somewhere.

Hopefully Trump and his staff know this is going to fail and they have plans ready when it does.  There's really no other positive result here I can see, just more delusion that somehow peace is possible here.  I will admit it's funny that the next Nobel Peace Prize should be announced any day and now they have even more to ignore to ensure Trump's not the winner.

Then there's stuff like this.  This article came out several days ago but since then it's reported that Trump will send/has sent tomahawk missiles to Ukraine.  Not that it'll change the outcome of the war, just that now it really is the US at war with Russia, which the EU always wanted.  As far as I'm concerned, things like this just wipe away any credit Trump gets for his accomplishments.  It's not what he was elected for.  At least with Israel it's the same delusion every POTUS has about finally fixing things.

But of course more things are going on to make this extra-complicated.  Zelensky is going back and forth on whether he would run for reelection or quit the job now if it would mean peace.  It's also rumored that Russia is ready to release info on the bribes Hunter Biden took from Ukraine that started this war.  The CIA was ready to report this but Biden stopped it.  Not sure who's less trustworthy, the Biden family or Russia.  And Hunter worked for Russian companies too, didn't they give him any bribes?  And behind all this, there is still China expanding its influence across the world.
