I don't think this is a deliberate set-up although that's still possible.  He's trying to replace Gavin Newsom and has been around long enough that he probably has the best chance, unless Kamala Harris decides to run.  And maybe she will, they just need to get rid of the better candidates without having to face a primary.

This comes across to me as more of an example of the dam bursting.  These women spent years with Swalwell and totally agreed with him that accusers must believed and all the other *woke* feminist rhetoric he's cited.  But now suddenly they've decided to turn against him.

My guess is that, consciously or otherwise, this is more about the party realizing that it needs to stop being *woke* if it hopes to win voters, especially the white male deplorables.  That means they have to turn on the white male puppets they've installed over the years, at least the easier targets.  Can't kick out Clinton or Biden, they're too old, Swalwell isn't even 50 yet.  There's also a chance that this is China making a decision to cut their loses, given what they know about Swalwell and his ilk.

But this won't solve everything.  The women are coming out with stories from the last six or seven years.  How "bold and strong" can they be if they kept silent about this for so long?  The "Me Too" movement came and went without them speaking up.  It sounds like they were fine with sexual assault when it came from this man and people are only turning on him now because it's convenient.

We'll see what else comes out.  There are records that he used campaign funds to pay his wife for childcare.  Um, isn't that in the job description?  Or is this what the left has decided marriage is.  But does she even self-identify as his wife?  And for that matter, of the accusers, are there any transgendered females among them or is Swalwell transphobic too?  I'm guessing he'll drop out very soon because Democrats really don't want to face these issues.

A few minutes after I wrote the above, it came out that Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff have withdrawn their endorsements and told him to drop out of the race.  I'm sure that will happen within a few days.  Maybe the left will use this to restart the 'believe all women' movement.

I think we're losing track of the plot here.  Just a few days ago, the strait was other country's problem to deal with.  I stated that this wasn't the right way to go but now Trump is contradicting himself.  The most positive parallel I can think of is this is like a big brother telling his little brother "stop hitting yourself."  If you want the strait open and secure, take it.  If you trust Iran to do anything, you're the one making the mistake.

How much of this is just killing time until something happens in Iran?  It's coming across that nobody seems to know who's in charge there at this point.  To an extent, that works for resistance but if Iran wants to be considered a real country, they need an official government with leaders.  I'm not sure the new Ayatollah's even been heard from since he took office, much less seen in public.

Iranians are still protesting, or at least Persians.  There's an interesting comment that the Iranian regime isn't actually Persian, they're Arabs who took over.  I don't know how true that is but it does reinforce the idea that the people really want this regime gone and the western left and media are effectively siding with the mullahs just to oppose Trump.  Meanwhile Iran is still popular at the United Nations, assigned to programs on women's rights and anti-terrorism.  Because of course.

I'm not even sure we're bombing Iran anymore because how much left is there?  Writing that, I realized that 'oh yeah, there's another ceasefire thanks to Pakistan.'  I guess that shows how much this has fallen off the radar.  It also shows that the leftist infidel is arguably Iran's best weapon.  I'm not even going to bother how much longer this ceasefire is supposed to last, I'll just wonder if China is still getting their oil and, if not, what will they do about it?

This was a fund created by taking a few dollars from every sale of legal pot.  But now the money is just sitting there until someone finds a way to help themselves to it.  Baltimore wants it spent on the city since that's where the money came from but the state wants to loot it for their own people.  So there's all sorts of arguments going on.

What exactly does it tell the descendants of slaves when the leftist reparations go nowhere?  It's like you just expect them to stand around waiting for you to get around to giving them some money for...  something.  This seems like more of an argument that government should get out of the way and Democrats in general.  This is just adding a problem for no real reason except ideology.

I will assume, for the sake of argument, that the money is sitting right in the bank-account where it's always been.  But this sort of thing comes off as a scam, that it's already been taken by someone anywhere along the line, a grifter or some other political organization.  Most people should be very suspicious about anything like this.  But the left are the masters so there's nothing that can be done about it.

□ [“Disney Is Giving Up on Mandalorian and Grogu Weeks Before Release?"]

We're only a month or so and they're giving up on merchandise.  The franchise has been all about selling toys since it started so it's a big deal that Disney is dropping that.  They cancelled the tv show so it could be turned into a movie and that is looking like a bad idea.  Don't know how popular the show really was but it certainly did better than the more-recent shows.  The first Star Wars movie in theaters in seven years and this is the best they can do.

How much can they blame Kathleen Kennedy?  She's basically responsible for all of this disaster but it's been over two months since she left so, at least in theory, the people in charge now are responsible.  You can argue against that but then the people in charge now should be openly-admitting how wrong this is.  Anything else is dishonesty and trying to hide responsibility so why are they in charge?

It's only been barely ten years since Disney's first release came out and with this movie, they will tie the number of releases by George Lucas.  That's not counting all the tv shows and everything else they've failed at.  This movie has very little chance of being successful.  It might have more chances if nobody sees a Star Wars logo anywhere.  But if it fails, I think they really need to question Kathleen Kennedy publicly on how she made this happen.  Of course if you're going to do that, you'll need to ask other people who recently left Disney why they let KK get away with it.
