Just an anecdote and there's no details given, but my guess is that this is another indication that society is collapsing.  "Staff," whether teachers or janitors what whatever, basically said that either this trans garbage doesn't show up that day or they don't, no middle ground anymore.  At some level, the college isn't completely stupid and would rather their employees actually show up to work.

I assume most of it is based on this trans nonsense, but a fair chunk of it probably isn't.  These people are tired of the elites pushing their agenda, whatever it is.  Pretty sure the trans wouldn't use a bicycle or solar powered airplane to travel to campus.  But this is just causing extra problems for people who already have enough and for what?  To pervert children, because there's not enough of that going on.

A spokeswoman did say this was canceled “to respect differing views of its staff.”  Then why was it started in the first place?  Did you just assume the staff was uniformly in agreement with the people in charge and only found out at the last minute that wasn't the case?  Aren't colleges the ones saying everybody's views need to be respected, so shouldn't you check into that before you make these decisions?

Probably not, they expect everyone to obey, so they've never bothered to look into what being disagreed with is like.  That's going to be changing in very short order.  Then they'll find out how many employees with useful skills disagree with their employer who has none.

A sign of cracks?  Some Columbia University students are realizing that their actions might have consequences and they don't like that.  They made it to their 20s without a clue about how adulthood works and now they want to avoid it at all costs.  So they're demanding "amnesty" for their voluntary crimes for a cause that they self-identify as whole-heartedly believing in.

My guess it's more about the economy.  I'm sure they aren't paying for college out of their own pockets but their parents probably are and they're not going to pay for a replacement college that teaches you nonsense like this.  You want to do that, you pay for it, which means you'll need to get a job for a change.  And those jobs probably won't be sitting all day in air-conditioned offices.  Good luck.

If there's a good thing to say about how things are these days, it's that many people are getting a real lesson which the last few generations haven't had to deal with all that much, at least not as much as leftist propaganda talks about it.  These are problems which we all have, individually and collectively, and they are clearly imposed upon us by our elites in mansions who claim to be fair and open minded.

Since these are kids, mentally if not biologically, they don't know anything, and since they're at college, they have no chance to learn what might happen.  Some of them are more scared than they want to admit, so destroying Israel becomes less of a priority than they've claimed.

Some of the protestors are getting scared, they don't know what they're doing or why, or they might have to face consequences from their decisions.  Meanwhile others are stepping forward to admit that the Philistines aren't really that big a deal, they're all trained for revolution.  They're funded by George Soros and his allies, but this is what the left always does.

Of course none of them consider doing this at Nancy Pelosi's house, or any of the other people who would have to be overthrown in the revolution they aspire to.  They think this is worldwide, showing how limited their vision really is.  We've seen this since 1918, when none of the leftists thought Russia had a chance of letting them rule everything, then it spent the next several decades as their ideal, followed by China, Cuba, Venezuela, etc.

They certainly don't show any interest in what the Philistines would think of this.  But they'd know that the infidel's belief in more than two genders and abortion is their undoing, so Islam will prevail.

Well, this came and went with no big deal.  The protestors probably all went home to rave about all the celebrities they got to meet.  Or they stuck around for drugs and orgies, who knows.  Might as well have called it a Biden campaign event for all the people who showed up.

There's a couple of stupid lines from Biden but that's normal.  Nothing worth paying attention to.  I wonder if that was the point of these events in the first place, like they Oscars or something.  They used to interest a lot of people, but now it's just the elite talking about how wonderful they are and getting paid for it.  It's not like anybody would point out the problems with Biden who's right there in front of them.

Otherwise, this just looks like the crumbling of the elites, wasting their own time in events like this.  It used to mean something, but you can't degrade everything else and expect your own special places to stay the same.  It's like they're just doing this out of obligation rather than anything meaningful.  Even being sucked up to, as we see here with Biden, is basically worthless.

The elites are really being open about their superiority to the rest of us and their ability to ignore whatever laws they want.  This is probably where I came up with my theory that they're actually part of the 'new world order' government, so they can willfully disregard the lower ranks.  She won't get charged for the speeding or the arrestable offense of not stopping for the sirens behind her.  She certainly wasn't arrested.

This isn't the rule of law.  It's not even the rule of men because men aren't allowed anymore.  How can they expect this to last?  The female DA did make a statement that she respects the law.  She waited until the next day to plead guilty because that's how much she cares.  She'll probably get promoted for this.  The cop will probably be demoted to compensate.

She obviously took it as a given that no one could stop her.  She called the police chief to tell the subordinate to leave her alone.  That's why the elite keep people around to keep other people away.  They even use men with guns to make sure nobody tries to get in their way for some stupid law enforcement.
