□ [“Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost Elected 267th Pope — Taking the Name Leo XIV"]
And suddenly I have no interest whatsoever in an American pope. Maybe if his first statement was "Make Catholicism Great Again!" I'd have a different opinion, but I took it as a given he'd be a leftist and what little I've checked on him confirms that. He's already said he supports open borders so that shows us where he'll stand in this struggle. If there aren't already transgender bishops and cardinals, he'll put them there.
He was born in Chicago, not a good sign, but he moved out fairly early. It looks like the rest of his career was mostly in Peru and Rome. He'll turn 70 in September, not sure how he ranks compared to other new popes. Can't say I'm that interested. There was John Paul II, his successor was a place-holder - similar to Biden, including being taken out with a coup - and since then it's been just what liberals want.
He'll appear for all the trendy leftist causes but it's not clear if anybody else will care what he says about anything. Probably one of those Catholics which non-Catholics say every Catholic should be more like. And maybe we'll find out who he met at P. Diddy parties.

□ [“Bernie Sanders Doubles Down on Use of Private Jets"]
"You run a campaign and `you do three or four or five rallies in a week, the only way you can get around to talk to 30,000 people. You think I’m going to be sitting on a waiting line at United waiting while 30,000 people are waiting? That's the only way you can get around, no apologies for that."
The conversation starts out about Bernie's own words that Democrats have abandoned the working class. It's bad to ignore ordinary people. But he isn't going to put up with those ordinary people. He only focuses on billionaires because he's not one of them. This interview is stupid, it was clearly a lot longer and they just put in clip after clip, so there's no natural change of direction or subject-matter, although Bernie always goes back to talking about billionaires.
Haven't really listened to Bernie in a long time, if ever. Notice that he sounds more coherent than Joe Biden and no Democrat mentions that. Anyway, he does demonstrate the basic collectivist mindset. He's ignoring how problems are caused, thinking all he has to do is complain about people who are richer than him. But he's not going to put up with people poorer than him, except as his fanbase. With no evidence, he just insists there's lots of Republicans and independents at his rallies.
And he made damn sure not to mention anything about the private jets. Not just the earth-killing fossil fuels that he opposes from anyone else, but where does he get the money to pay for these? As a rich leftist, he's not going to pay for it himself, so who's funding this? He's not fueling those private jets with $10 and $20 donations from poor people.
Thinking about it, this is probably an attempt to redo what Biden and Harris were supposed to do. The old leftist handing everything over to a younger female. It was Biden and Harris so, well, that wasn't going to work. They couldn't even have public events. So Bernie and AOC are having public events. You know, like Trump did, which Democrats hated. They're trying to fake a genuine political movement that has real people show up.

□ [“In Dumpster Fire Appearance on
The View
with Jill Biden, Joe Biden Mumbles Incoherently"]
It is strange how he's suddenly making public appearances even though nobody actually wants to see him. He did an BBC interview a day or so ago. It's also unclear why he'd show up on Disney/ABC's
The View
, given how many problems they've been having. And he's just babbling. He finally gets to some point, Trump's had the worst first 100 days of any POTUS, and the audience was waiting for a chance to applaud. These aren't actual speakers, they aren't thinking, they're all just following a routine.
Then Biden does get asked about all the books coming out about his senility and dementia. His answer is just as bad so Jill has to jump in. She gives him a signal to shut up and he at least recognizes that and obeys. They're obviously quite used to dealing with this.
I think it's been mentioned before but there is speculation that the Biden family is out of money. Having only one profitable family member be a politician who's now out of office means nothing is coming in. But they still have expenses built over half-a-century of bringing in money with all Biden's influence. This may be why whoever's in charge is pushing him out there, to keep him trotting until he keels over. It's not like Jill, Hunter or James have any other options.
There is even talk of releasing the audio from his two days of interviews with Special Counsel Hur. Can't find when the interview was done but the public was told about it in February 2024, and Biden was just to mentally deficient to be punished for giving away classified documents. But Democrats and the media assured us he was totally capable of running for POTUS again and this time might even win a fair election. We'll see if the Hur interviews are released. If they are, the left will ignore them anyway.

They've spent years and a lot of money insisting that Ukraine is more important to the EU than its actual members. They're just giving Russia more incentive to wipe them out, having already shown that there's nothing the EU can do about it.
The EU is currently trying to cut off all imports of Russian oil, gas, and nuclear fuel and doesn't seem to realize that they have no replacements. Nations like Hungary are very dependent on Russian fuel and if this goes through, it's going to make these nations beg Russia to set them free from the EU tyranny. Just look at the example set by Spain and Portugal which recently lost electricity for quite a while.
There's also another option, which is more amusing. An EU foreign affairs leader recently insisted that Crimea belongs to Ukraine and “no EU country would accept recognition of Crimea as Russia.” So all Hungary or anyone else needs to do as say Crimea belongs to Russia and they'll be kicked out of the EU. The EU has to follow their own rules, don't they?
Currently there is another ceasefire for "Victory Day." No idea if either side is accepting a truce. They need to be wary, if Ukraine starts getting used to a ceasefire, they might not want to go back to battle. And then what would Zelensky and the EU do?
