□ [“James Carville Calls on Ilhan Omar to Start Her Own Party and Quit Hating Whitey"]

Hating whitey is what made her so popular among Democrats.  That's the party Carville helped to build and he doesn't even notice.  To my knowledge, Chairman Mao was the only leftist dictator who was able to bring the younger generation into his dictatorship.  Of course they had to purge the older generation but that's how it goes.  Otherwise they're just going to be fighting each other, as Carville is doing here.

But does anybody even pay much attention to him anymore?  He thinks he's entitled to be popular and influential and doesn't seem to be asking for anybody's consent on this.  He may be getting more attention from right-wingers (like me) than anybody else, and even I'm just waiting for him to be asked about insisting the Republican party would be dead in a month.  It's been quite a while since he said that and there's no evidence he has any clue what he was talking about, so why should anybody listen to him for anything else?

As to hating whitey, sure, that's a major problem for Democrats.  Whites are still the majority but more and more of them are being chased out by this racist rhetoric.  That's going to hurt the party but it's what most of the party's leaders want to do, so you either change the leadership or you accept how they want it.  Maybe the whites should leave and form their own party, let's see how well they do in the elections.

□ [“Trump Teases His Next Post Will Be 'One of the Most Important and Impactful' Ever"]

How to demonstrate you don't actually have anything big to say without specifically saying that.

We don't do the teasing.  It's one thing to do hype - 'I've got some big news to put out in a couple days!' - but this isn't the right way to do it.  If you can't just flat-out say what it is - and it's really stupid if you can't do that - then at least be up-front about what and when it's going to be.  This is just so pointless there's no reason to even speculate on what he'll be revealing.

□ [“Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene Says Epstein Files Likely Destroyed — ‘He Didn’t Kill Himself’"]

See, this is at least a little more helpful.  Not much, but something.  Admitting defeat in releasing the files and possible back-up sources, Israel and the UK may still have files.  But she specifically cannot say what happened to them, who destroyed them or why.  For that matter, why not just start saying whatever things she does know about the files.  Won't hold up in court, ok, but how is anybody going to prove it's "dis/mis-information"?

As to Israel, Britain or anyone else having back-up copies?  Probably, maybe, I dunno.  Britain's elites would certainly be involved with Epstein and Israel would be spying on everyone so they'll know about it whether or not they had anybody doing it themselves, so ok.  But it's been six freaking years, they'd know if they still have the files or not, and they obviously haven't released them...

As for whatever Trump's announcement will be, probably some peace negotiation or something to do with the tariffs.  It might be cool and maybe it'll even be a big deal to some people, but I'm very skeptical it'll mean much.  Given how much is going on, it's possible that by the time whatever-it-is gets released, we may have forgotten Trump made this statement.

Having written the above, it would be amusing if in the next couple days, the release is actually from Obama, thanking Trump for freeing him from the slave traffickers and starting to name his biggest "supporters" who were in on it.  Something like that would be very big and effective, but what are the odds that will happen?  P. Diddy's trial is starting, nobody's going to think of stuff like that.

□ [“Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent Strikes Breakthrough Trade Deal with China"]
□ [“Russia and Ukraine Set To Start Peace Talks Thursday in Istanbul"]

There's also the Houthis, the India/Pakistan talks, this is quite a peace deals going on at the same time, even though most of the conflicts aren't connected.  I'm not complaining about that so much as I'm wondering what this overall war was/is about.  You can give Trump full credit for getting these peace talks started or you can say the true powers-that-be wanted to move to the next step so they installed Trump to make it look like he did this.

It's clearly deliberate.  Peace talks are a good thing so that's fine, but we don't know who's behind it or what the intended results are.  If all the deals are signed and then Trump announces he's handing over all authority to the World Health Organization, is that something his supporters would go along with?  Doubt it.  It's just we're not given any real information about what's going on, nothing trustworthy, so all we have are guesses.

I still think China is the main enemy here so it's not clear what they're getting out of this.  Ok, there's both sides finding and excuse to lower the other side's tariffs, there's looking for ways to cancel other costs.  This isn't limited to USA/China and it isn't just economics but there's no way to know how much is deliberate and how much is just a coincidence.  P. Diddy on trial?  New Pope?  David Lee Roth on tour several years after saying he was done with touring and he's lost his voice?  Every spy agency using giant computers to keep track on every single one of us here?  We may never know what they're negotiating.

□ [“David Lee Roth:  ‘I’m throwing in the shoes.  I’m retiring’"]

This article is from October 1, 2021, yet Dave is now doing a series of shows again.  He was supposed to do a few shows in Las Vegas that were cancelled because of the virus, he did an opening for Kiss and that was supposed to be it.  He hasn't even said why he was lying about it.  It's not like he is just having fun, this is the same set as always, except that he's dropped the one or two solo tracks.

Sammy Hagar says he's still playing live shows, he's just given up touring in itself because he's too old for that now.  He's always been about playing live so that's understandable.  His recent sets are heavy on Van Halen but he still includes the rest of his career because his fans would want to hear that.  He even includes a couple Dave-era songs for the novelty.

My suspicion is less about DLR himself and more about celebrities in general, I think a lot of them are facing serious financial problems.  Partially there's the war and DOGE, cutting off lots of income.  Partially I suspect they're just more willing to keep expensive lifestyles even when no money is coming in for a long time.  I have not listened to any of the videos, but comments suggest Roth can't sing.  He's 70, what other reason is there to be out doing this if he doesn't need the money?

Which leads me to Guns'n'Roses who are already back on tour again, the same thing and Axl Rose is definitely not capable of singing.  There is no reason he should be doing this except a desperate need for money.  The guy's lived in that gigantic mansion since before he turned 30, spent tons of money with nothing coming in.  All he can do is hope there's enough cult-followers left to keep buying tickets and hear "It's so f*ckin' easy" again.

I'm sure celebrities are used to funnel money to other groups around the world, but I also assume that they aren't the brightest of people so they often spend more than they make.  I even have to wonder if rock'n'roll was created to bring in cult members, from Elvis down the line and that's why they've mostly faded away to irrelevance.
