If I'd known then what I know now, I wouldn't be here now. For that I blame Trump, the Jews and my ex-girlfriend.

□ [“Executive Order Shutting Down ALL Physical Entry Of Migrants at Southern Border"]

As always, there aspects of Trump to be wary about.  He's been promoting vaccines and gets along well with tech overlords who should be tried and executed.  Not a good thing.  But then there's stuff like this.  Not sure the border is completely shut down but this will require a lot of extra work to find the areas that aren't.  Trump is also sending in active-duty military to secure the border and says in 90 days he'll decide if they should become actual law enforcement with the Insurrection Act.  Good stuff.

ICE says they picked up 300 illegals on the first day, which isn't as good.  There should be a few more zeros on that number.  We can hear the words, they're irrelevant without major action.  One thing we need to do is maintain constant observation of Trump.  We can be happy he won but he's not getting much more slack than other Republicans.  It's time for payback.

I get that this isn't something that can happen overnight.  He hasn't even had most of his cabinet appointees approved.  There's the economy, the war, the bureaucracy, it's not just about sealing the border.  But we need to stay loud and critical.  Every day we can't point to a definite victory like this one here, make sure whoever's spying on you knows you're not pleased with Trump's latest actions, whatever they happen to be.  Good or bad, he does seem to be someone who takes public reaction into account, so keep pushing him the right direction.

□ [“All DEI Federal Employees Will be Placed on Leave by 5pm Today as Offices and Programs are Terminated"]

Placed on leave, as in they aren't being fired.  They're still getting paid.  Not happy about that although I'm sure there is a legal reason they can't just be kicked out on the spot.  But at least they can stop pushing their influence on whatever department they were employed by.  What are they going to do, start calling their former co-workers at home or after-hours to make more plans?  The more people would want to listen to DEI officials, the more they risk losing their own jobs.

The executive order also requires offices to give out possible codewords used to disguise DEI practices.  That's going to be needed as the Defense Intelligence Agency says they'll just ignore their leader because *their* DEI hires weren't just for DEI.  This will happen elsewhere in the executive branch and there will be numerous lawsuits filed.  This is an accomplishment that's nice to hear about but it will take quite a while to make it stick.

Trying to think of what else the bureaucrats can do and I gotta admit, I can't think of many options.  They can resist what Trump is doing but he's the boss so that's already limited.  What else, sabotage their own workplace?  Attack the citizens?  The best possibility I can think of is trying to unite their fellow employees against their boss, which might do something but it will also show how irrelevant their co-workers are and make the case for more firings.  Maybe there's a way they can get help from Congress but that's about it.

□ [“Trump Orders ‘One Flag’ Policy Across All U.S. Embassies — No More Pride or Black Lives Matter Flags"]

The POW/MIA flags are still allowed and there's something called a Wrongful Detainees Flag, but that's it.  The flag does represent the nation and our leftist rulers have been all about degrading that.  I think they were going both ways, it's about destroying the nation itself as well as just degrading it to be meaningless.  I am very afraid that they've been successful and we've reached the point-of-no-return but there is still a chance and here Trump is showing it.

They'll need to go through the embassies, and every other federal office, and find out who pushed these other flags in the first place.  I have looked a bit into maintaining the flag and its history - the Army made us do that - and I'll be the first to say a lot of it is pointless, but at least I'm aware that it took a long time to build.  It's not worthless just because I think it is and the point is it really does symbolize our nation.  You take it down or denigrate it, you do that to the country it stands for.

The pride and BLM flags were just a way of showing that denigration.  They couldn't really even make an organization, much less provide the requirements of a government or a nation.  No one's in charge, they have no rules and they don't owe anything.  It's more about showing off to others of their kind and that's about it.  Possibly it's about declaring their superiority to others, who knows.  My theory is that, over thousands of years, we'd moved from individuals to families to tribes to city-states and finally to the nation.  These people just skipped all that and think they're on the same level, which is why they demand their meaningless flag be treated "equally."

□ [“Los Angeles Union Liberal:  Part-Time Mayor Karen Bass is a 'Dead Woman Walking'"]

There doesn't seem to be much news on the fires anymore.  Have they been put out?  I don't think so, I saw a headline today that another fire had just gotten started.  Maybe they finally ran out of stuff to burn down, I guess that's possible.  Or maybe it just makes the media and leftists look bad to report that California's still having problems, since we're all supposed to aspire to be more like California.

Some people are saying that this is happening to protect Gavin Newsom.  That's certainly part of it, because a black woman has no chance against a white man from a rich family, but I suspect that it's more about needing someone specific to blame and she lost the coin toss.  She's also supposed to be closest to the city, assuming she bothered to return from her world travels, so it's easiest to blame her.

But the problems just build the more you look at them and always with leftists at fault.  There's the voters going after this year after year.  There's the state ignoring fire-prevention.  There's the city forgetting how to have a functioning fire department.  There's the constant demand to blame global warming and Republicans.  There's the ridiculous amount of taxes being paid for nothing useful.

Then there's ignoring all of this whenever it's convenient, like the law voters supported years ago to build reserve water storage precisely to stop fires, and paid more tax money to make that happen, which the government never got around to.  Fine, blame Bass for whatever, but she's a small part of the real problem.  Blame Newsom for pushing all the blame onto her, but he's just desperately trying to be considered a national political candidate.  That was always stupid but he's not going to give that up, no matter how much gets burnt to the ground.
