□ [“Neil Gaiman's Journal: "Breaking the Silence"]

He posted this yesterday, around the same time as the New York article posted.  Gee, that doesn't seem deliberately timed.  The media has to work together on these things.  Not having mentioned this scandal ever before, so far as I know, the New York Times immediately followed Gaiman's post with a report on his post.  Not sure if it's intentional that these media and Gaiman are all in New York, but interesting coincidence.  His wikipedia page already includes his response, the same page which said for years that he was in an "open marriage."

Gaiman's statement is bland and self-pitying.  Also contradictory, or at least missing some major details.  He doesn't specify which accusations are true and which are lies, but he said he'd kept quiet out of respect for the people that he says were lying about him.  That's not a way to combat false accusations.  He points out that the sexual relationships continued for quite a while, which the accusers confirm and doesn't make them look good, but Gaiman doesn't mention why, years later, he gave them large chunks of money in exchange for signing an NDA.  You don't need to do that with people you had happy consensual relations with.

He also says he was "emotionally unavailable while being sexually available" and focused on himself.  Besides just sounding creepy, this is now you get to abuse people sexually.  Try being intellectually available for a change.  The rest of his statement is about how he's growing up, trying to do better, because he cares so much.

This contradicts a tweet he made on September 28, 2016, about how "Men must not close our eyes and minds to what happens to women in this world.  We must fight, alongside them, for them to be believed," even as by his own admission, he wasn't doing that for the women in his life and we absolutely should not believe those making accusations against him.  But other women should be believed, yes indeedy.

He does not say, and as far as I know has never said, anything about other men being falsely accused the way he claims he's been.  But they aren't rich and famous like he is, nor are they protected by large corporations.  He's also a liberal, so the rules don't apply to them.

That said, from what we've seen, the accusers really don't come off as any better than Gaiman.  If they were so abused, why did they keep coming back?  I have a possible answer for that but I'm sexist.  If you want women to be treated equally to men, then they need to explain why they're putting up with this abuse and didn't call the cops or just leave.  They took the time and effort to connect to him, it's not like he's chasing them down to have his way with them.

We all have problems in our lives, but Gaiman and his kind live in a world where the elites and the peasants are just broken, mentally and spiritually.  I haven't even started looking into the Scientology influence.  The women were pathetic enough to worship Gaiman and he was creepy enough to get off on that.  He even paid off some of them, but years later they can come back with accusations.  They'll just get worse from here.

□ [“Trump Announces Deal For Hostages by Hamas — Will Be Released Shortly"]

It makes Trump look good and he can brag about it, that's fine, but the basic deal doesn't sound good.  First of all, there' s too much parallel with the Iranian hostages being released in early 1981.  I was too young to pay attention at the time, but something about it always seemed like we weren't getting the full story, and I'm not saying that as any fan of Jimmy Carter.  I don't believe Reagan just showed up and Iran had to give in, nor do I believe Hamas is doing that with Trump.

Israel still hasn't approved of the deal, but it says they'll release 50 Palestinian prisoners for every Israeli female soldier and 30 for other hostages.  No, unless the philistines have ticking time bombs implanted inside them to go off as soon as they reach their friends and allies, this should not happen.  The release should only be going in one direction.  This would be giving Hamas over a thousand of their troops back and should never be considered.

Unless this is just a starting point and Trump shows the negotiations in public, this will just make him look bad in the long run.  Arab leaders think it's great and even the US State Department was thrilled, saying “When it comes to the involvement of President-elect Trump’s team, it’s been absolutely critical in getting this deal over the line.”  It just sounds like anti-Israel rhetoric using Trump as a mask.

□ [“Hunter Biden Loses 200 Paintings in California Fires – Claims Value at ‘Millions of Dollars’"]

Is he going to be stupid enough to demand reimbursement for this?  Well, this is Hunter Biden, so of course he's going to be stupid enough to do that.  Not sure it'll work with the federal government starting next week, but California is probably already writing checks for him.  He won't even need to prove that these masterpieces ever existed, his word is good enough.  He can't even be prosecuted for fraud.

If he really does go all the way and demand money from the fed, Trump may have people ready to follow him and find out who he's dealing with.  Those people haven't been pardoned so they can be prosecuted for bribes.  But thinking about it, that may be why Hunter is suddenly announcing this now, because it's not like he's eligible for any more bribes.  His father was the only one people needed to go through him to get to and even if Biden was sane and not senile, he's still out of power.  He has nothing to offer that would make his son useful and it's not like Hunter is capable of doing anything on his own.

The sad part - if "sad" is really the right word - is that this is basically it for Hunter, and the rest of his family.  They currently have money and they'll probably get whatever estate Biden leaves, but face it, they only know how to spend.  At least for the time being, they have to pretend to look decent for Dad but that's not going to last much longer, and nobody's going to want them.  They could even reach a point where they need to call the Trump administration for help and will do anything to get it.

□ [“Newsom Capitulates, Withdraws Bid to Regulate Electric Vehicles Sales, Phaseout Gas-Powered Ones"]

The L.A. fires are dropping out of the news.  It looks like they have no hope of putting them out with manpower, so all they can do is wait for them to burn out by themselves.  In the meantime, the rest of us can at least be entertained by articles like this, where the left has to admit their plans have failed, even if they're still getting the overall destruction they crave.

Many people have pointed out over the years that the real goal is to limit the ownership of private vehicles, especially for anybody who's not among the elite.  The peons will have to wait in line for mass transit like the servants they are.  Then something like the fires come along and wipe out any support that notion ever held.

One thing that made the automobile such a wonderful invention was that it provided everyone who had one with freedom to move on their own.  If nothing else, you can go any direction you want with as much gas as there is in the tank.  Spare gas or money to purchase more can get you even further.  Situations like this really remove any interest in sitting around, waiting for the next bus or train to show up.

Newsome and his ilk could never conceive of such a thing by themselves.  Why should they?  They're the sort of people who will always be guaranteed private vehicles.  You need that when travelling thousands of miles to a global warming conference.  But now everyone else can see that they're totally screwed by the same government that made this happen, the same one that wants to make them dependent on everything.

You have to had good sunlight to get your solar power working, the heavy smoke gets in the way of that.  If it takes hours for the electric battery to charge, that's time for the fires to get closer to you.  It's not counting other issues like not being allowed to have guns to protect yourself or printed currency to make immediate purchases or anything else the leftist government wants to control.
