This is from a discussion on a leftist site.  It's Christmas so of course they have nothing to do but talk about politics but there aren't many comments here.  But nobody agreed with her and most comments stated this would be a bad idea.  Some did say it would risk their otherwise-guaranteed victory in the mid-terms but that's about the closest they got to the concept.

I'm not sure how Democrats will go for this - won't they need 60 votes in the Senate? - but I am certain this is a general consensus among them.  Considering how optimistic they were about the shutdown a couple months ago, they don't seem to have found any lasting benefits.  I'm worried that Republicans will cave in and give them bribes to vote for the funding bill.  Otherwise, will they just order those who voted for it last time to go along again?

It's hard to believe, but the federal government has now been reopened longer than it was shut down.  It's not even mentioned anymore.  The left doesn't cite it as any victory.  They don't even remind us how we watched all those people die without a government.  It was this big deal that happened and they've already forgotten about it.  Even those in charge realize that there's no incentive to try it again.

He has a good chance for winning the nomination so far but there's already a video of him saying this over and over for years.  I don't know if California actually keeps track of how many homeless they have but it sounds like they have a lot more than they used to, even during the time he's been in charge.  The clips go back to 2009 when he was San Francisco mayor.  Homelessness does seem to be his priority.

With the other recent revelations from DOGE and Somalians, it does sound like this money is just being laundered.  It's been said that California's funding scandals are much worse than Minnesota's and that's quite believable.  So Nancy Pelosi's nephew and his people have just been scamming the taxpayer all these years.  Makes you wonder what they've been doing with all the money from the high-speed railray they were supposed to build.

Then there's all the homes built down in the fire over a year ago.  There are virtually no licenses to rebuild and even fewer have been able to start construction.  The Empire State Building took a little over a year to construct and they had to figure out what they were doing for the tallest building in the world.  California just needs to build some homes for rich people and can't even do that.  Traps are being set for Newsom and his only chance to win the nomination is to have opponents that are even less competent.

In a sane world everybody would see this as a joke.  It certainly has no chance of being accepted, it was just a way for highly-paid Ukraine officials to pretend they were doing something.  Wonder where that money came from.  So now we'll see what they come up with next when this fails.

The first problem is that it calls for an immediate ceasefire without working anything else out.  The EU has already promised to send in troops as soon as there's a ceasefire, you see the problem there?  So there's no reason for Russia to even look past that demand.  Good thing because the next one requires the US, Europe and NATO to come to Ukraine's defense for any future problems.  With all that, you'd think Ukraine would no longer need to join NATO but don't worry, they'll still be allowed to join NATO.

You might wonder where Europe would get any troops worth sending to Ukraine since they haven't bothered to rebuild their militaries.  Strange way to live, ranting about how Russia's right on their doorstep all these years and not bothering to have a defense but that's the EU for you.  And the US is still obligated to join in so they're in no hurry.  If the loser of the war gets all this, what does the winner get?

But it gets worse, US participation will be guaranteed even without Congress declaring war.  It's a little iffy and you could make arguments that we don't *have* to go through with it but these people are used to giving unelected globalists control over their military so they assume the US will do that without hesitation.  Maybe Trump won't but they're looking at when he's gone.  There will also be some unelected council overseeing this, Trump and his successor are also expected to be part of that and go along with the decisions.  Ukraine will also get $800 billion for reconstruction.

Russia gets *some* territory and that's all I can find as proof that they won the war.  I really can't tell if the EU and Zelensky are that desperate or if they genuinely think they got everything.  And as always, we have to worry that Trump will go along with this.

In families that aspire to aristocracy, when the oldest man is senile and worthless, it's tradition for his son to take over the family.  Normally it would be Beau but he's out in Las Vegas working with Moe Greene.  With Hunter suddenly speaking out, it's clear he's trying to replace his father.  He's at the center of the picture and had someone put some nice clothes on him.  Or actually learned to get dressed on his own.

Joe is barely visible.  I'm no good at determining if there was photoshop but it does look very fake.  At least a decent photoshop could have presented him at the center of the family, or at least appearing relevant.  At a family event @25 years ago, my grandfather had health problems so he had to leave and was added to the family picture later, it looked at least as real as this one and he was quite visible.

I think Hunter is trying to make himself look like the top dog now.  Everybody in the picture is directly connected to him - his kids, parents, sister - and the only males are his son and father.  After all these decades of hedonism, he's trying to look like a respectable adult.  He doesn't have anything to offer so it might be entertaining to watch him try.
