□ [“John Fetterman: Democrats Shut Government Down Because They 'Were Afraid' of Radical Base"]
I would quote his actual line about 'turning it into a game.' He's clearly referring to the Democrat base there but the rest of his statement is mostly incoherent. Barely finishes a sentence and it's not clear which people he's talking about at any given time. I won't bother playing the video but at the text of his statement reads like he's either mentally ill or just very scared of what his party would do if he spoke out openly.
Anyway, the point that struck me about this was that the shutdown has been completely ignored since it ended. The mass suffering Democrats were complaining about, it couldn't have just ended, especially with Republicans mostly winning. Yet all the rhetoric has vanished. Even when they insist Trump has failed and Republicans will go extinct with the next election, they were saying that before the shutdown and nothing's changed.
And if that's the base they have, it should be clear that this is the problem. You can't be afraid of the people you're in charge of! Unless you've spent decades praising 'revolution' and 'overthrowing the old rich people' and... Let me try again.
You can't be afraid of the people you're in charge of. Being in charge means you have responsibility and authority, they need to know that you'll punish them for getting out of line. It's like when blacks speak out about freeing themselves from the Democrat plantation so you need to... Ok, let me try one more time.
These people voted to put you in charge. If they don't respect that, then they can't be relied on whatever decisions you make. They're also not the people you should be basing decisions on, so you're saying there was no point to this shutdown in the first place. Yet your party kept it going for a month and a half. Not only that but they haven't learned anything from the experience. And Fetterman is the best one to speak out about this, showing how low the bar is.

□ [“Fulton County Admits 315K Early Ballots Were Illegally Certified in 2020 Election"]
Biden won Fulton County with 380,212 votes, almost three times as many as Trump got, but only won Georgia by 11,779 votes. This may not be the only county in Georgia such fraud happened in. Or the only state of the US. Obviously Democrats don't want anybody checking into this, they still need to win elections. And they'll count all the votes.
The Justice Department is also suing 22 states + DC for not providing voter registration lists. The Attorney General requested these records, the Civil Rights Act of 1960 Title III gives him that authority but these states have refused to provide them. No idea how long it'll take to reach the conclusion but at some point Democrats will need to ask why they're opposing the Civil Rights Act. Their hope is that they'll have seized power by the time that happens but if not, what's their plan?
This is why voting needs to be as straightforward and as hard-to-fake as possible. I think that leaves computers out of the process, they could be hacked. Also, just because I'm naturally paranoid, I'd have to worry about who does the watching. For that matter, how many of these Republican lawyers would actually be doing this to cover for Democrats moving into whatever the brand-new system is to keep stealing even more votes? I don't know strategy or tactics but even I'm aware of the need to consider what the enemy can do with any new tool brought in to the match.

□ [“The Viral AI-Generated Video Depicting a Military Coup in France"]
2026 is going to be a year where we really don't know what's happening or if anything we see on the internet is real. We can't even trust this story, or what it reports, or its sources, or anybody's reaction to it. It says that this video was created by a teenager in Burkina Faso, West Africa. Uh-huh. He wanted to see how big it would be and was surprised to find that it had gotten so big. Right. Macron was pissed and ordered Twitter to shut it down but they don't have to obey him. I see. But it must be hugely popular in France because that's how they roll.
This illustrates my point, obviously any of that could be absolutely true but we have no way to prove it. Seems just as likely that it could come from anybody inside or outside of France for a number of reasons. Revolutionaries, pro- or anti-EU. Trump, Russia, China, anarchists. Even people in West Africa who are connected to the new immigrants in France. There's no way to know and not even a believable way to learn the truth.
I really don't know what a good answer to this is. So far I haven't gotten any sense of an A.I. bubble as we saw a couple decades ago when the internet became a big thing. If anything, it comes across as too overwhelming. Just in the production of videos alone, it would be easy to come up with enough to keep you busy 24-7. So far the quality is still very low but it has noticeably increase in a short period of time, even faster than the internet did when it was introduced.

□ [“
Supergirl
Trailer Dislikes Rise; James Gunn's Time at Warner Bros DC in Danger!"]
The movie's not scheduled to come out for another seven months and it's already looking bad. The teaser just has an annoying girlboss who's nothing like the *real* Supergirl. It also has her fighting Lobo because they've got to shove in more IPs. Lobo should be a stand-alone character as Marvel/Sony has done with Venom but anyway...
This
Supergirl
attempt just reminds me of the
Daredevil
movie in 2003 where they crammed in Elektra way more than they needed to, all to set up and immediate spin-off. Slightly different here, Superman was and is far more established. But for that matter, the Marvel movie was at least closer to the source material. [
Daredevil
anyway, I didn't see
Elektra
.] Even counting for inflation, it was probably cheaper to make too so the loss wasn't as big. That's what we've been reduced to here.
But everything about this is coming across as a guaranteed failure. The character isn't interesting and has little in common with the Supergirl who was popular for decades. The story seems pointless. Then there's the immense hassle of building these franchises as the primary goal of a movie. This is why the Marvel and DC franchises have been collapsing for the last several years and they're just pushing this yet-again.
