The peace talks continue.  Reportedly they're going well, agreeing on 90% of things.  Of course it's entirely possible that lying about this is the only thing they really agreed on.  If this is true, the main issues remaining are if Ukraine is going to withdraw from Donetsk and how the US will protect them next time.  A bit more amusing, it's agreed that Ukraine must never join NATO but Russia is fine with it joining the EU.

Ukraine hasn't apply for membership and if the EU actually hold to its standards, it has no chance of passing.  But now they need to ditch all the requirements and beg Ukraine to join because...  Well I'm not sure what anybody would get out of this.  They've already gotten whatever they need from Ukraine without it joining so far and it's not like they have anything to add to the EU except space to build more mosques.

But it doesn't sound like the EU leaders are sane.  They've already threatened to seize Russian assets out of European banks, defying international law and setting themselves up for the same thing by the rest of the world.  They've also threatened Belgium of all nations because it wasn't going along with this plan.  Now they're threatening to sell their chunk of US national debt.  It's not clear if all these threats are still ongoing or if the first ones failed so they moved on to the next.

They're definitely desperate to keep the war going but it's not yet clear why.  My theory is that this is the real globalist conspiracy.  It's not just a 'new world order' and might not even be a demon-worshipping cult, but these are nobilities going back centuries.  They've been part of what's happened in the world for a long time but suddenly they aren't getting what they want and they have few options.  There's just the belief that if they can't have the world, no one can.

□ [“Kamala Harris Planning Another Presidential Campaign"]

She's got nothing else to do.  Usually when people decide to run for POTUS, they have been doing something recently to show for it.  Even during the campaign, they still have their day jobs in Congress or as governor.  Trump was an exception because he wasn't a politician but he was an experienced businessman and had been a celebrity for decades.  I'll ignore any Independent candidates but the only other exceptions I can think of are Hillary in 2016, Biden in 2020 and now Harris in 2028 where they couldn't point to what they've been doing for the last four years as an excuse to vote for them.  Well, some of Biden's cabinet will probably run too, but you get my point.

She really doesn't seem to have thought this through.  She'd need to actually compete.  It's not like being attorney-general or a senator from California, you'd have to actually fight off others who want this job too.  She's never shown any ability for that, her 2020 campaign being a good example.  I'm guessing she expects everyone to cave in for her because she's non-white non-male.  I doubt Democrats will be playing that game two years from now and what other options are there, hiring celebrities to hang out with you?

And there are some in even worse positions than Harris.  At least she got away with pretending to be veep.  All Buttigieg can do is fail his way upwards and we're starting to see how many Democrat voting blocks really don't like this sort of person.  If he expects to be installed at the top, he's got some lessons to learn.  He's another example of someone who isn't doing anything now but expects to be given the top spot in the campaign.  Bernie Sanders would wipe the floor with these two if he decides to run again.

□ [“Marvel Officially Abandons Woke!  Captain America Steve Rogers Takes Over Avengers, Pedro Down!"]

Disney is not officially doing this.  There's really no reason to believe they're abandoning the *woke* agenda in any way, except on a surface level.  They destroyed multiple huge franchises in less than a decade, they really need a couple real hit movies to delay having to take responsibility for their failures.

Just a few years ago, they intended these three phases to build up to Kang as the main villain.  Most of the main actors were done and so were the characters they played.  The new ones were supposed to keep the franchise going.  But in addition to paying Robert Downey Jr. $50 million per movie as Dr. Doom, now they're bringing back the slightly-cheaper Chris Evans as Captain America.  Wasn't the Falcon available?

They've already shot the next Avengers movie.  They've been doing re-shoots for months, but now they've decided to make him the star.  The Fantastic Four was supposed to be the central characters out of the many dozens of cameos.  And all that comes in second to bringing back the actor who insisted he was done with this part.  He's as *woke* as anybody and this is who they turn to?

This just seems like an enormous loss no matter what.  There's no reason he should bother getting into shape again when they can use CGI.  It's already speculated that Disney has no chance of making any money even with two movies so they thinking of turning this into a trilogy.  And there's still no evidence that anybody is interested in this in the first place.  Given how Marvel movies have failed for the last six years, the audience might already assume it's over.

□ [“Rob Reiner’s Son Arrested and Charged in Grisly Murder of Parents"]

Still no reason has been given but it keeps being pointed out that his son was really into drugs for many years.  Rich Hollywood leftists, that sounds like a regular thing.  Can't find any reason to think Reiner tried to keep his kids away from drugs.  But then, might as well say this is an argument for abortion, it would keep your children from murdering you.  Maybe there will be some more information coming out, I always assume there's something we aren't being told.

Of course Trump came out and made comments criticizing Reiner.  It wasn't just passing-by to insult the dead, Reiner had been attacking him relentlessly for the last decade.  There are reasons to criticize Trump for this but it's not like he didn't have reasons.  He might just be behaving like normal Trump comments, but notice that even his supporters are criticizing him for this.  When do you hear leftists speaking out against their leaders for doing this?

We've spent the last three years hearing leftists praise the murder of Charlie Kirk.  No leftist criticized their allies for doing that.  So it's possible that's the real point Trump is making.  He makes himself a target for attacks by his own supporters for publicly criticizing an opponent.  That requires standards which the left can't even comprehend.  And it's not hard to find things Reiner said that would justify supporting his death the same way the left justified it for Kirk.

I find Trump's comments irritating and pointless but I'm not really bothered by them.  I'd never heard of Kirk before he died and got to see the left's reaction so I don't much care about Reiner's death either.  I had a slight temptation to see the Spinal Tap sequel but I didn't bother and apparently no one else did.  Maybe this will just be an excuse to get people to watch it at home like the first movie.
