□ [“Appeals Court Bats Down Biden Judge, Pauses Order That Blocked Troop Deployment in DC"]
How long are they going to keep doing this? They just keep bouncing these cases up the line. A vast majority of the rulings have been for Trump, at least on appeals. Meanwhile it just wastes time and taxpayer money with no overriding outcome. The left is very good at wasting time and taxpayer money - including pointless lawsuits like these - so what's the endgame?
□ [“Grand Jury Refuses to Indict Letitia James For Mortgage Fraud"]
Meanwhile this is still going on. She flat-out says the law applies to everybody but when she's caught ignoring the same laws she tried to persecute Trump for, she's let off the hook. This was set in Virginia so it's all leftist privilege. Perhaps this is one of the next targets they're going for here, the way the elites get to ignore their own rules. But this is a case where I have no idea what the Trump administration could do about it, not without actual help from Congress and/or the Supreme Court, and that's not likely to happen.
So the public can't see the point of these battles. We might see 'our side' as winning but it can be reversed at any moment. There's nothing we can do to contribute and unless we really pay attention, we don't really know what they're even fighting about beyond "Orange Man Bad." Trump can be looking at who's funding this 'lawfare' so maybe that's something but there is not a lot of encouragement to see, no matter who's winning.

□ [“Globalist EU Leaders 'Harbor Profound Distrust' of Trump’s Peace Efforts"]
Well at least Europe seems to realize they're losing the war and they're coming off as the real enemy here. Since they have nothing to contribute to the peace talks, they aren't allowed in. Why do you suppose they're not happy about that? This comes from a leak posted by German media of a phone conversation between Zelensky,
Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte and others, trashing Trump and the US. Did they always count on the US doing all the work to protect them and now they have no clue how to get buy without that? What government gives, government can take away.
Not sure how it would work but I'm wondering if the point of this war is really about wiping out the concept of nations. Ukraine has never really gotten that. This is basically where Russia was founded but Russia is a real nation (poor bastards) and Ukraine is coming off as more like the expendable front man for the globalist EU elites. They've been trying to infect Russia with their *woke* mindset and it hasn't worked, so that's when men with guns start being used. Just a new theory I just made up although something about it seems plausible. Anyway...
Meanwhile Ukraine is still attacking the Druzhba oil pipeline which sends Russian fuel to EU/NATO members Hungary and Slovakia. Strange how there's no consequence for this, hurting the countries you're asking for help from. The EU is also planning to seize Russian assets, such as money which the Russian Central Bank stores in the Brussels-based Euroclear. This would be against UN rules which are very strict on bank-reserves and would mean China, India, Saudi Arabia, etc. have the right to retaliate against the EU and their allies like the US. I can believe the EU would be desperate enough to destroy everything they have.
So Trump has to work out a peace deal including all these other problems. It's not like he doesn't have other things to do in the meantime. Maybe it's just a temporary observation but I really am seeing the EU as second only to China as the biggest enemy in the world today. I would include leftism but since the EU has always gone with that, I think they're connected. Russia and China have a lot of experience using leftism as a weapon but I don't get the impression they believe in it themselves anymore. But even if Trump gets a peace deal, I can't imagine it lasting very long if the EU is still around to ignore it.

□ [Guns'n'Roses - "Atlas" (Lyrics Video)]
□ [Guns'n'Roses - "Nothin'" (Lyrics Video)]
Wasn't sure this would actually happen but only two days late, the Guns'n'Roses tracks were released. Of course there's no explanation of why this idiotic mistake happened and of course most of the fans are gushing that it's finally released. Not that different from a decade or three ago when Axl was constantly showing up hours late to concerts.
This is one of those things that convince me this is more of a cult and it comes across in the new material. Well, "new" in an official sense. A demo for "Atlas
Shrugged
" was known to be recorded in March 2000 so it's not remotely new. These two tracks even include recordings from members who left in 2006 and 2008. But whatever remains of G'n'R fandom is so enthused about the material they've had on bootlegs for years is now finally official. And even the less dedicated fanboys will still buy tickets to the new tour to hear "It's So Easy" again.
I'm actually surprised, musically these aren't bad. I wouldn't say they're good but of the occasional singles G'n'R have released in the last several years, these are better than most. I still say "Hard School" is the only one that stands out as actually sounding like Guns'n'f*ing'Roses, something we haven't heard since 1994's "Sympathy for the Devil" cover. Musically, I'd say "Atlas" comes in second as sounding like decent rock, if not from any notable band. "Nothin'" could have fit on
Chinese Democracy
and nobody would have noticed. It's musically better than some of the crap that was included on that album, although it's still not good.
Vocally Axl just doesn't work with this anymore. The vocals were recorded decades ago and he's lost whatever range he had back then but his voice really only works with hard rock, which this isn't. He is capable of singing ballads but he seems to be deliberately avoiding any actual melody, anything that might be catchy or memorable.
Lyrically almost everything he's done has been virtually incoherent, ranting endlessly about how he's done so much for "you" and how horrible "you" are. At least on the
Use Your Illusions
albums he occasionally did something different, and others were allowed to write lyrics. Since then it's all been self-absorbed nonsense. So it's a surprise that these two tracks are a bit different. Not that they're good, and "Atlas" is another example of him just going on-and-on, never shutting up until it's time for a guitar solo.
"Atlas" lyrics aren't any good and they are self-absorbed but there's virtually no mention of how horrible "you" are for not going along with Axl. A definite surprise. They also don't use the word "Atlas" so as usual, there's no clue why this is the name of the track. But it wouldn't be hard to take the instrumental versions and add coherent words, maybe even with an actual melody.
"Nothing" was an even bigger surprise. Again the lyrics suck but it's an actual love song. Not sure they could be re-written to be acceptable but it's simple and straightforward, almost like normal verses and a chorus. 1991 was the last time any new song with the name "Guns'n'Roses" on it had that.
So these aren't great, they're not even good unless you've lowered your standards a lot, but I must admit these two tracks are at least a very small bit higher in quality than what we've heard from Axl in the last few decades. You might not find them listenable even once and it's not surprising if you hear them once and never want to hear them again. Unless you pay large amounts of money for a G'n'R concert, you'll probably never have to hear them again. And now they've released 22 tracks since 1994's "Sympathy for the Devil" which Slash has described as the sound of a band breaking up.
