Just think, I didn't care in the slightest about Greenland and thought Trump's comments on Greenland were weird at best and disturbing at worst, but now I really really want Greenland.  Let's start conquering it immediately.  Now it is true that someone used autopen in 2023 or so to sign a treaty that the US can't just leave NATO but I'm guessing NATO can still leave the US so let's go with that.

It would be funny if that really was the reason Trump made those comments about Greenland, just to get kicked out.  I'm sure he's also seeing Greenland as a strategic asset.  There's also asking the EU how serious they're really going to be on this.  If you get to go without setting up your own militaries and the only price is giving up Greenland, maybe a lot of Europeans would go along with that.

Slightly more seriously, I don't know what Trump's main goal is with Greenland but I think he's making the point to other NATO members that we don't really need them with as little as they're providing to the partnership.  We can't officially pack up and leave just because Trump says so but there are many options to not doing everything we've done for decades.  I think the real point is to actually get Europe to stand up for itself against the invaders and the leftists but, failing that, we can at least charge them more for our protection.  Greenland's a convenient price, at least for the time being.

I keep wondering if his behavior is, "hoax" may not be the right word but I can't think of a better one.  It's like when they promised to support Joe Biden but then he showed how brainless he really was so they had to ditch him, but they couldn't be outright hostile about it, "we want you out now!" because they still needed to pretend he was POTUS despite being so mentally incompetent that he could never be allowed to campaign again.  Something about the situation Walz is in now looks similar.  He needs to accept the blame but he can't actually leave for another year although he's certainly not going to do anything about the Somali fraud.

DHS is now knocking on doors for daycare centers in Minneapolis, citing how much federal money they've received and asking for evidence of what was done with that money.  Sounds like a good step to take with a lot of potential for finding all the connections these people have.  This is probably why Walz seems so defeated, I think he's effectively out of a job, at least for the time being.  Since he wasn't going to investigate these scams, the federal government used its authority to take over and do his job for him.

They'll certainly find evidence that he could have done something to prevent all this fraud, your mileage may vary on how much he knowingly profited off of looting the taxpayers.  But you'd think every state would now have enough incentive to start checking these frauds out before the federal government comes in to do the work for them.  If you oppose fraud, why are you so willing to support the fraudsters and oppose those who are exposing the fraud?

That is something where I'm ambivalent on how fast or slow it should go.  If we start exposing all the other fraud going on - and at this point most of us think every city and state is full of fraud like this - then it might be overwhelming just to find out about all of it.  But if we focus on the daycare center fraud then we could be missing a lot more of what's going on.  I don't have an answer for that, just wanted to make a note.

I hope that's true.  Can't trust reports about the protests but anecdotally they do seem to be growing.  The government forces are trying to shoot the protestors but Trump has already said 'don't do that' and has proven that he's willing to carry out his threats.  Iran already saw that last summer.  Ayatollah Khamenei has to be worried that if he doesn't flee early, it'll be too late.

At a guess, I don't think Trump is as willing to kidnap or kill the Ayatollah, doing that would probably have caused more problems than it was worth.  There's something odd about Maduro, how the Trump administration is insisting he was not the head of government.  Not sure if that's a trick or something to do with the 'new world order' or what, but I doubt that would apply to Iran.  You want to defeat the mullahs, ok, but they've been the government for half-a-century whether you agree with it or not.

Because of A.I. we can't even trust the pix and vids at these protests.  Maybe they look a little more real than those leftists post to show support for Venezuela against Trump - these protesters are mostly white and rarely dressed like you'd expect for early-January - but even if they're real, it's still anecdotal.  And there's far too large a chance that these vids aren't real.  So now we're just waiting to see what comes of this for Iran.

Gotta admit, I'm a big giddy at the idea that Trump could get rid of Maduro and the mullahs by mid-January.  Suddenly facing a world without those dangers would be amazing, then there's all the worry our other enemies would have.  We could do this to them too.  And they'd have similar problems knowing what's really going on.  Those fighting for control of Venezuela suddenly announced that there was no fighting, everything was fine, just go about your business.  Do they really know what they're talking about?

An exaggeration, she's not out yet.  There's not even a given date when she's leaving.  It was reported that she wanted one more movie that had a chance of being successful to make up for the lack of successful movies while she's been in charge.  Her Star Wars movies made less and less money and could even be huge bombs.  The tv shows were very expensive failures and just got ignored.

So she wants to try something else again.  Whether or not she does anything relevant, I doubt she'll be leaving the studio before this year's movie comes out, May 22.  No idea if it'll be successful but the odds seem to be against it.  Think of it from a normal person's perspective, what about this would require the Star Wars logo?  Just change a couple names and details, why wouldn't this be a space adventure to stand or fall on its own.

Another problem is that her replacements all come from Lucasfilm, just promoting her own followers.  That's not going to solve the problem but there's also the fact that nobody wants to come in to fix things.  Anybody with the ability to handle a giant messed-up corporation like Lucasfilm would be smart enough to stay the hell away from it.  Then there's Disney which is really in charge, making everything worse.  No one would be convinced to work there.

Star Wars has driven away its audience.  So has Marvel but they've been spending so much money on the next movie that even if it's successful, there's no way it can turn a profit.  I've never followed Pixar so I don't know what they're doing but these three franchises, along with Disney as a whole, just looks like an enormous mess.  It's like the only chance they have to get anywhere is to get rid of all their leadership and then, I dunno, wait several years for people to forget about this stuff.  I don't know what else they could do.
