This is not the new year you're looking for. Move along.

□ [“Tommy Lee Jones’ Daughter Found Dead at Swanky San Francisco Hotel, Age 34"]

Another sudden death from someone related to a celebrity.  I misremembered the name, I thought we were talking about the Mötley Crüe drummer, which would be a bit more suspicious.  For Jones, I did like him as Two-Face in whichever Bat-movie it was and I've seen JFK once and remember nothing, that's all I know of his career.  Once again, another sudden death like this makes me suspicious.  Wouldn't she have a life, a job, her own family by this point, what was she doing in a hotel?  She'd have to be involved in *something* and no reason is given for her death.  Covid vaccine?

□ [“Will Smith Sued for Sexual Harassment by Male Violinist Subjected to Grooming, Threats, Retaliation"]

Will Smith is having his own career problems and it sounds like it's all based on his wife who resembles a demon.  He was fairly young when he became famous and I've long-suspected that Hollywood grooms these people.  Not sure heterosexuality is even legal there anymore, actors have always had that sort of reputation and being rich and famous means he doesn't hear 'no' very often on this.  Showing how far I am from watching movies, I was writing the previous sentence when I suddenly realized 'weren't Smith and Jones in the same movie?' and I probably would have missed that if I hadn't just looked up Jones' filmography.  But to restore his career, Smith has gotten back into music and is at least considering another Men in Black movie.

I've never seen Men in Black but it was a central point into building a lot of the modern movie industry.  It made a difference because Smith was considered as lead because it had nothing to do with being black, he was a popular marketable actor.  Since then, they've realized they can't do that again so we got the race-bating trend they're still pushing onto the public.

It was also a seed that built the MCU.  The IP started as a comic, published by Aircel.  The Canadian company then merged with Malibu Comics, based near Los Angeles.  They had a number of known creators and when Marvel artists quit to form Image, Malibu oversaw the new company for a time.  But Image became independent and Malibu started going down, only to be purchased by Marvel who needed access to a then-modern computer coloring system.  So now Marvel had acquired a bunch of new IPs to push to Hollywood that weren't just men-in-tights.  Men in Black became their first hit movie so they were able to move on to the Blade movie, also a success which led to companies looking into other characters, Spider-Man and X-Men.  A few more hit movies and they were ready to start the MCU with Iron Man.  I don't know how this is relevant to what Jones and Smith are doing now but it's clearly in the background as source material.

I was going to say something about another Bat-movie star George Clooney and his current online spat with Trump but neither of them really say anything interesting.  It's more a question of why they have anything to do with each other.  Definitely an example of this being a 'fake' Donald Trump, he really does have better things to do, yet here he is anyway.

I like but this is a very big gamble.  It's not clear what Trump can actually do if the Mullahs start wiping out the protestors.  That said, they don't know what he can do either but they do know he can hit them very hard.  He's not deploying the 101st to occupy Tehran so what else is there?

Haven't found any reliable list of how far the protests had spread but they are spreading and pictures show that a lot of citizens have had enough.  They're chanting “down with Khamenei” and even for the return of the king [shah.]  That's probably why leftist media is trying to ignore it, can't support 'no kings' rallies and side with people who want their king back.  Besides, these protesters face actual risks, not like those who go up against Trump.

For the time being, I'll ignore that Trump is doing what Obama could have done back in 2009 but was too much of an Iran supporter to say anything.  Even Congress had spoken out against the mullahs before Obama voted 'present.'  Well, maybe I won't ignore it, this is what Obama should have done.  These people have lived under tyranny for half a century and now there's an actual chance to help them be free.  Don't know if it'll work but Trump is trying to Make Persia Great Again and he has to do that while facing Iran's allies in BRICS.

So as I said, this looks like a complete gamble but I support that he's doing it.  We're still surrounding Venezuela, don't know what progress has been made there but it's definitely an ally of Iran.  I don't think Trump will be sending in the troops but if he can knock off two regimes without a real war, that will be the most awesome thing since sliced bread and you know how kick-ass that was.

□ [“Minnesota Department of Human Services Used DEI Hiring Policies at Fraud Oversight Offices"]

The only thing leftism can build is more corruption and degradation on itself.  This is where the trope comes from about how 'no one's ever really tried communism yet.'  Because they fail themselves before they ever get that far.  You hire people who can't do this job to oversee others.  They were chosen for skin color so that's the standard they're going to use, no need to have any competence.  And you're "racist" if you disagree.

As the investigations continue to spread out, we've already found the same thing happening from native Somalians, not just those who transferred to New Somalia.  Somalia's UN ambassador used to work for Ohio's Medicaid and then formed a healthcare company which was banned as a fraud for healthcare services.  Also in Ohio, Somalia's Foreign Affairs Minister runs a healthcare company.  Also located at the exact same address is a company that handles money transfers to the Middle East and has been known to support al Qaida.  You think there's any connection there?  A Somali NGO got a Maine government contract to register immigrants to vote and has since been caught on fraud.

More companies are being found and Nick Shirley says he has more video to release.  Not sure what the delay is but he's shown how worthless the media is.  The Washington Attorney General is trying to find a way to defend Somalis against those pesky civilian reporters, telling them to call the 'hate crime' authority if they're asked questions about their lack of childcare services.  This just isn't going to work very well for them.  They have no way to defend it but they can't start acting like massive taxpayer fraud is some sort of crime.  All they're doing is bribing tribes to vote for them using other people's money.

□ [“Trump Issues the First Vetoes of His Second Term"]

Nothing dramatic, which may say more about how little Congress has done for the last year.  One is to expand the land for a tribe in Florida - why? - and the other is about building a conduit to send Arkansas River water to Colorado, based on a bill JFK signed in 1962 which has just spent taxpayer money since then.  Gee, wonder why he vetoed that?

This just seems a bit weird as the old year ends and the new year begins.  Why is this relevant at all, of anything Congress could be doing, this is it?  And just the novelty of Trump vetoing anything.  He probably vetoed other stuff in his career but he always struck me as the sort of POTUS who goes along with the bills Congress actually passes.  Maybe it's typical when the year changes and we just don't bother keeping track of that.

I don't know what Congress expects to do this year.  Democrats are probably already planning their victory parties which shows how far off the rails they are.  We don't know how many Republicans are actually part of the Uniparty so they'll keep that hidden.  Without that, what do they actually do for a paycheck?
