□ [“Sen. Ed Markey Calls for Millions to Protest, National Strike on Election Day Over Midterm Interference"]

I already covered this, I'm just following the calls for protests and a strike.  I still can't find any locally except for the standard 'old white people' events that we've had for the last year and a half.  If I remember, I'll go check them out but it doesn't look optimistic.  It's possible they're handling this on some internet or site that's not normally found by the usual Al Gore-ithms but that seems unlikely for your typical leftist.  That said, I'm sure they do have allies which could handle this so it's still a possibility.

I'm more curious about the chances of a strike.  I've been advocating one for our side for years, although obviously I've dropped that for Trump 2.0, but I've also tried to think about it as a possibility for the other side.  This is probably where I'm the most optimistic, would anybody even notice if they went on strike?  As I've mentioned, over the last year or so I've seen leftists saying it's going to happen and I wish I'd taken a note of that at the time because they never follow through.

So I guess we'll see if that's the case on Monday and Tuesday.  Those of us who have jobs will see how many don't show up.  If the left loses on Tuesday, we'll see their response on Wednesday but if they haven't started the strike by that point, I doubt they'll have any incentive to go through with it.  Riots maybe but not staying home from work.  If they win on Tuesday there won't be any reason to carry it out either.  I think they're trying to start a narrative of 'the elections were stolen' but IIRC they've done that before and then won anyway.

Whatever happens, I think we'll finally be at the end of this stage by the time we go to bed on Tuesday.  I still think the odds are trending in favor of Republicans but I wouldn't bet anything on that.  It's not even about optimism, I just refuse to believe without evidence that a solid majority of people are so insane.  If anything, I think Trump 2.0 has outright planned to show that, in fact, this is a minority.  Remember, they already proved it once in 2024 and that's with 2016 and 2020 as further evidence.  Just the fact that the left is openly talking about how they're going to punish tens of millions of people for disagreeing with them shows how off the rails they are.

□ [“Texas Republican Cites Little-Known Rule That Could Stop DSA Being Sworn Into Congress"]

Congress has to swear to uphold the Constitution to take office and DSA has already sworn to get rid of it.  His point is more that there's a rule allowing a newly-elected member to challenge any other newly-elected members from being sworn-in, assuming they have evidence.  Membership in DSA should be enough evidence but it didn't stop AOC so that's a problem.

I'm guessing this is based on political intrigue but to and including tyranny and civil war, but I don't mean that in a relevant way here.  I mean that a hypothetical, that two opposing forces ran for Congress and both won seats.  No clue when this rule was established but it could apply to Soviet spies, foreign-born hiding their origins, or the Irish.  It certainly applies here to but no one's bothered to follow that rule yet so why start now?

Unless Republicans win big, I assume it'll be irrelevant anyway.  For that matter, Democrats could use it if they win big and don't even need a real excuse like DSA.  If they win big, they can make up anything they want.  How many other rules like this have been sitting around, ignored for decades?  That's just another structural problem with Congress itself, their just keep adding laws without removing the old ones.  This sounds nice but any effect will probably be more of the same.

□ [“Virginia Governor Spanberger’s Boast About 'Most Diverse Cabinet' in State’s History Backfires"]

She posts a picture of her cabinet and they're virtually all black.  Virginia isn't a mostly-black state so that's not "diversity."  The few non-blacks are all white females which is even less diverse.  No white men, no asians or hispanics of any gender.  Any Muslims?  Any gays?  Any of the dozens of other genders you people claim to believe in?  Any Trump supporters?

This is a perfect example of the problems dealing with any leftist.  They're incapable of seeing anything wrong with what they do, even if it openly contradicts what they say.  Any rational person would just go 'how can you not see this problem?'  Then there's the fact that they're clearly surrounded by people who won't say anything.  I'll avoid the 'Titanic' as an example and just say it's like boasting that you're going to have the most sober driving experience ever, now let's jug a six pack.

It's why I keep saying there's no point trying to interact with these people.  They seem smart, or at least competent, and then blatantly ignore reality without even noticing.  It also demonstrates the importance of borders and the states occupying that space.  As much as possible, these problems should be limited to Virginia, it's what they voted for.  And they call it diversity.

□ [“EU Drops Adopting 'Associate' Orphan Canada"]

Well that was quick, they're suddenly discovering huge problems of just assuming countries can unite and haven't even gotten around to letting the citizens vote on it yet.  It's only been a month and a half since this was made public and now they're learning about difficulties.  I'd say this is like marriage but these are leftist elites-in-charge so they don't pay any attention to that.

Germany, France, Italy and Greece have all spoken out against this.  One problem is that the EU uses the word "associate" in multiple ways internally and none of them want to fit Canada into that.  They're trying to talk about making a deal without using that term but that would require a lot of dancing around and Canada doesn't have that sort of time.

It's not particularly related but I've been amused at watching leftists insist that things like the electoral college and the Senate must be eliminated, it should all come down to the number of votes with no distinction like state.  I keep asking if that would apply to the EU, still haven't gotten any answers, but I see that with the list of opponents here.  Germany, France and Italy are the three most populous nations in the EU and, along with Spain, make up over half the population right there.  By leftist logic, none of the other countries should be remotely relevant.  Our side knows that states are their own entities and behave according to their individual nature.  Well, if you disagree, here's Canada, how do you incorporate them?

Canada's facing its own problem, and not just that they haven't bothered to vote on this.  Quebec isn't permitted to be involved.  I assume it's because they're trying to be their own nation anyway, not to mention their close ties to France.  There's also an immediate economics problem, Europe imposes a carbon tax that is much higher than the similar US tariffs Canada is complaining about.  Canada would need to impose that tax which would cause much more problems.  Maybe they could argue for an exception to that rule but they'd need to accept the rule first.

There's probably a lot more of that waiting actual interaction between these states.  At least Europe is on the same place and has existed together for a long time.  Canada is a vastly different country on the other side of an ocean.  As a land mass, Canada is only slightly smaller than the entire continent of Europe and most of that continent is Russia.  You can't just decide to get married and expect it to work but that's what the leftists-in-charge believe.
