□ [“Vice President JD Vance Holds Anti-Fraud Roundtable with State Attorneys General"]
They need to start doing something about the fraud. The federal government has been investigating, at least some states are looking into it, private citizens are looking into what they can to gather information. Still taking much longer than it should but they are doing something. So this makes an opportunity to report on the progress by each state.
But for some reason, only Republican states attended this meeting. That's odd. You'd think Democrat states would want to look into what taxpayer fraud is going on and make sure something is done about it. Don't they think it'll look suspicious that as attorneys general, they actively want to stay ignorant about this? What possible reason would they have to deny any connection to the fraud being uncovered?
For that matter, they should be worried about the whistleblower program started a couple months ago. There might actually be people in these Democrat states who care about the fraud going on and since it looks like the AGs won't do anything, they'll need to take action into their own hands. As it is, we take it as a given that the 'deep state' of these leftist states are totally in on the fraud, what are you going to do if that becomes public?

□ [“Netanyahu Orders Expanded Military Operations Against Hezbollah in Lebanon"]
Maybe it's just one of those 21st century things but the war's been going on for almost three months, wasn't something supposed to happen by now? I'd like to think that we've used this time to let Iranian forces gather to be easy targets for strikes like this. But then, I thought Israel had pretty much taken care of Hezbollah by now. When are we going to get that "genocide" we keep being promised?
The 'ceasefire' is clearly irrelevant, I at least hope Trump stops pretending it's a thing. We stop hitting Iran when we see a reason to and start again when another reason comes along. They're hitting back any way they can, that's probably why Israel is hitting Hezbollah and the Cabinet is putting together what they have. Hadn't thought of it but each cabinet member is the head of their respective organization and they each have their own level of classified information.
I'm trying to be optimistic but I don't see the point to this. Especially announcing it like this, why does the world need to know that some people are meeting their boss? You think the mullahs inform the public like this? And that's not counting the fact that all these cabinet members are involved in their own internal political battles with their own agencies. Look at how many high-ranking officials keep resigning all of a sudden, you think they're all on Trump's side?

□ [“Texas Democrat Al Green Loses Primary Runoff After Over Two Decades in Congress"]
He lost to someone under half his age. I only know Green as annoying and certainly have no clue about the other guy. I'll assume he's far more leftist than Green but you still have to think there's a message that there's too many old people in charge. That's always been a leftist position, only ignored when it's convenient but otherwise constantly recited to the public. This is also a result of redistricting, they're both already in Congress but now they have to compete against each other. Amusingly, the winner is brand-new, he only joined Congress in January to replace a dead guy. And now he solidly wins against a long-standing congressman.
□ [“Ken Paxton Smokes Texas RINO John Cornyn in Huge Upset"]
Another primary-runoff, another established congressman being kicked out. I don't know if there's an actual plan going on here - although I'm sure a lot of people have made plans - but between the redistricting and the pissed-off MAGAs, establishment politicians have got to be worried and not just Republicans. Cornyn was calling for Democrats to help him by voting, if he'd done that a few days ago he'd have probably gotten even fewer votes today. If you can only win office because the opposing party votes for you, you're the problem.
It is a valid question if any of these elections are really being affected by voters from the other party. If so, that's another valid argument for voter ID. Otherwise, it's not really clear. I suppose there are districts that are always controlled by one party so some voters from the other party amuse themselves with involvement. It's kind of difficult to figure out how anybody would get away with that, or why they'd bother to try.
But the streak is continuing, particularly for Trump-endorsed MAGA candidates challenging the old-timers. One thing I give Trump credit for is that, despite how self-obsessed and egotistical he is, he's quite good at recognizing that he can't be the only working part of the party. He needs younger people willing to do their part in getting things done. I don't want to be too optimistic but the winds are blowing strong.

□ [“
Supergirl
Box Office Gets Worse, It's Tracking Like
The Marvels
"]
DC is starting to prepare for yet-another failure. It was already having problems, Supergirl isn't made for movies, this version isn't Supergirl, people are tired of superhero franchises, all that stuff. So as you might expect, the lead actress is going out of her way to insult potential audience members, which is most of them. Following the examples of
Snow White
,
The Marvels
and the female
Ghostbusters
, she knows who she doesn't want buying tickets to her movie so we'll comply.
In 2014, DC announced it would reboot its movies to all take place in one universe. There were some hits but those went away. A few years ago, they rebooted it and haven't even gotten the hits from it. Now that Paramount is taking over the Warner Bros. movies, they'll probably want yet-another rebooting. How can anybody who really likes movies think this is a good idea? Well, probably the same people who promote it this way.
They're increasing the appearance by Lobo which might actually help. But people would just want a Lobo movie anyway so why force this on them? And they're adding more with the Superman actor, so it's basically expecting men to fix the problem. Then what are the women there for? They're not buying tickets either.
So there's a month to go before the release. Soon we'll see how many advance tickets are being sold. We're at a point where it's pretty easy to predict failures, we're just being polite by saying anything could happen. Superhero franchises are the most obvious, they're just too big for people to be that interested in for long. I'm still astounded that the first three phases of Marvel worked as well as they did but you can't just expect that to keep going. A lot of the failures we've seen the in the last several years was trying to build a franchise from the start instead of getting a hit movie and a few more successful sequels.
