My sister said Ferris just passed out at 31 Flavors. That is so wack. But I told her show pix or it didn't happen.

□ [“Trump and Xi Jinping on Red Carpet in Beijing – Leaders Hold Bilateral Talks"]
We might be getting a slight bit close to figuring out wtf this war is about. Not sure if anything will be resolved from this meeting but it's probably safe to assume there will be some changes. Who knows, maybe someday we'll even find out what those changes are. I'm not happy that Trump's going there instead of Xi coming here but I will admit it's certainly in Trump's image to go out and do the work. There's also precedent, 'only Nixon can go to China' and all that.
It should also be a given that this discussion will be relevant to other parts on the war with BRICS. Russia has just announced that they will protect their citizens abroad. There is historical justification for that but for one thing, it doesn't accept that sometimes citizens in another country cause their own problems. For another thing, this really isn't the time and place for a sudden announcement like this.
And then there's Iran. I've been quite supportive and I realize that there are a lot of different things going on across the region. Maybe we were just spoiled by Venezuela being taken out in one day but this is still going on with no signs of ending. The Iranian people still haven't moved and Trump says he had expected the Kurds to help. They'd been given support but weren't doing anything either. This is putting Trump in a position none of us wanted him to be in.
The quickest and easiest solution might be to just wipe out the government and let them all fight to take over. Not sure that's the best option but unless some agreement with China is reached, that may be the only option. I still want to think we have planned this out but this is not winning. The Taliban was able to hold out for twenty years and regain control of Afghanistan, the mullahs aren't even in that weak of a position yet.

□ [“
Politico
: Democrats Trying ‘New’ Strategy of Blaming Trump for Everything"]
That's not really "new." They're just using that word in reaction to House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries demanding “maximum warfare, everywhere, all the time.” But then they got screwed on Virginia so now they have to turn back to what has worked best for them over the last ten years. And no, you're not permitted to ask how well they've done over the last ten years.
Maybe this is like a rock band realizing nobody is buying tickets to hear their new songs. Or a Marvel movie, thinking a minute or so cameo from some high-paid actor is enough to interest people. But at least the rock band and Disney have to actually produce something, this would be Democrats just repeating the same things over and over. At some point the tyrant needs to stop you from saying bad things about him or he's not much of a tyrant.
It's still quite interesting to see how the left and their moderates try to figure out what to do. Since leftism means denying reality, they can't even have any honest discussions about the problems so everything gets worse. Then there's the incompetence, they appealed the Virginia court decision to the Supreme Court and the appeal had multiple typos, including which court they were addressing.
They're really going to need people who have actual legitimate accomplishments they can rely on instead of what they have now. And they're probably going to get more desperate as they get closer to the mid-terms. This behavior just leaves them where they were with Harris, and Biden before her, and Hillary before that. But they're still stuck with a lot of the same people in charge.

□ [“83-Year-Old Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL) Has Missed 43 Straight Votes In a Month"]
A couple months ago it was a Republican in this situation, now more old people are having problems. I have to wonder if this is part of the job. Even if they don't do any real work, they're in the highest positions of the land and that may erode whatever mental capacity they have. Of course that includes Trump. I've wondered if some of his bizarre public statements was because of this, or maybe by some hidden method of combatting senility. Pretty sure the Chief Executive would have that option available.
In Trump's case, it's impossible to tell for sure because he's Trump, he's always been like this. But for more normal people, it's becoming a recuring problem that so many of the old people in charge are having these problems. Nancy Pelosi has barely been noticed since it was announced she's not running for re-election anymore. There's several reason for that but her mental status is one of them.
Experience does count for something, that's part of human nature and will never go away. But there's also a legitimate point to be made about old people getting less attention and especially being required to give up power. This is just like the left going after the Supreme Court and other judges but it's still a valid point. Maybe it's just ongoing problem that will never be solved.

□ [“Liberal Judge Quashes Petition Forcing a Vote on Alberta Independence From Woke Canada"]
Naturally the judge went for a *woke* stereotype, that this didn't consider the requirements of "indigenous people." Apparently there's some law that says something like this has to go through them first, the people you conquer are really the ones who make important decisions. Not sure they're even part of Canada but I guess that's not relevant.
It's Canada so I don't expect this to go well but Alberta's premier intends to appeal this decision. I doubt that will work but Albertans won't be happy. Nor will other Canadians because they're going to have the same issues that Europeans are facing. So this independence attempt will probably fail but that will just increase the resistance to the leftist government.
So ultimately this is going in the right direction even if this step goes nowhere. Canada is essentially where the worst of Europe combines with the worst of the US, at least as far as government is concerned. They've had decades to rely on the US for protection and I don't think they've even started considering what to do if that changes. At least the rest of NATO is seeing the problem. To be fair, Canada is our next-door neighbor so they are more entitled to protection than countries on the other side of the Atlantic.
