So now that winter has officially started, they've spent most of the year shutting down shipping, the stores are already getting low on food so even if the people stand, there won't be anything to eat.

Interesting news, several Marvel movies in a row have not done well.  "Black Widow" was the only one I had even heard of that came out and I've already pointed out that Scarlett Johansen was past her best-by date.  It's also worth noting that women just don't seem that interested in movies about action chicks so right there is a drop in the audience.

I'll have to look it up, but "Shang Chi" sounds like it didn't do well, followed by "Eternals."  I could see "Shang Chi" getting banned in China and, as far as I know, is just a generic martial arts character anyway.  "Eternals" just doesn't sound interesting despite being something I was slightly tempted to see.  [I miss having a memory.]

And suddenly the latest "Spider-Man" movie has set massive box office records, biggest first week in history or something like that.  I thought everybody was banned from doing anything in public, particularly if they aren't vaccinated.  Right there is a chunk of audience but the media is full of reports that everybody wants to see this movie, despite the virus?

Yes, that's what they're for.  Obviously they don't stop viruses, they don't even stop water.  But the self-appointed elites want to see their inferiors wearing it.

I saw something today which gave me a possible insight onto how leftists perceive individuals, the terms "platform" and "core" as effectively what defines a person.  I didn't really look into "core" and only briefly looked up "platform" but that struck me as something that requires an audience, it doesn't exist if other people aren't around.

It struck me that this may be a major part of leftist viewpoint, the requirement that other people be around to mean anything.  A "soul" is a part of you, whoever you and whether or not you're around anybody else.  If you neglect the existence of the "soul," you're left with lesser concepts which require other people.

Furthermore, they use this to mark anybody who doesn't follow whatever standards they have (individually) as automatically inferior.  And those standards will be individual because even though they don't believe it, they are individuals.  But they see it as something that only exists through contact with other people.

This would explain why they're so dismissive of people who don't agree with them, this would explain why people who do recognize individuality would shrug and say 'they go their own way.'  It could even explain how these... collectivists?... find code and clues to identify with each other while individualists ignore it because each of us/them has other stuff to focus on.

A "soul" is far more complex than this.  We can't even fully perceive our own soul, the one we're stuck with from birth to death.  Interacting with other people makes it far more complicated and effectively out of anybody's perception much less understanding.  This would also explain why I don't think the term 'leftist' is accurate.  But either way, as individuals no matter where we fall on this scale [?] we do look for ways to make our lives more simple, and hopefully others as well.

This seems like a really good insight.  Probably not remotely original but we need to hear it more often as individuals and collectively.  It might explain why I've always seen the military as the greatest form of collectivism, because from my experience they are very much about understanding that every servicemember is an individual and having to figure out how to operate in that context.

It's basically impossible to understand but progress needs to come from individuals.  What the collectivists crave is essentially mob rule, fascism or feudalism.

What inspired me on this was that I'm still going through Guns'n'Roses history and I ran into a few quotes from the early 1990s when Axl was in love with Nirvana and they didn't return the favor.  One of the Nirvana guys used the terms "core" and "platform" which is what led me to this.  It made so much sense about how leftists perceive themselves and each other.  Thankfully I've never liked Nirvana but obviously I've been thinking about Axl Rose a lot and this basically explained everything about him.

Anyway, I'll need to do more thinking about this and I'm sure it's not remotely original but it does seem to be something to go on with.

Apparently Biden has already given his "press conference."  He said that he wasn't even supposed to be having this press conference.  And nobody had a clue that there would virus variants.  The only way that could happen is if they believed this virus was magically different from every other virus in history.  And it took them months to realize they were totally wrong to believe that.

Winter has a lot of respiratory viruses, it's possible winter will be coming up time in the next six-to-eight months, are they going to look into that or is there no chance that this virus can be affected?

Oh, and you have permission to see your family this Christmas but only so long as everyone is vaccinated.

It's not totally clear, but it sounds like they're doing a Flash movie which includes Batman.  A lot of Batmen.  Most of the actors who've played the character in various movies over the last few decades.

If I'm right, this is more evidence of my theory that they're trying to create the multiverse.  Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck are the only confirmed Batmen I've seen but I haven't paid much attention, that's why it's not totally clear.

It seems like a stupid idea, you have to pay enough attention to lots of movies to know who these characters are.  If you don't, you'll have no idea who Batman is and why he's in a Flash movie.  There seems to be very little attempt to make a movie interesting for its own sake, it has to be part of a franchise.

The new Spider-Man movie (which I'm still tempted to see) apparently has Matt Murdock in it.  As you all know, Murdock is a character on one of the Marvel tv shows which specifically has no connections to the Marvel Movies.  And yet he's right there.

Which they've been doing in comics for a long time.  This is so far away from any interest or affection I ever had for any of these characters.  The issue is Batman #121.  I can remember when that comic was in the 500s.  How is Lex going to climb up walls?  He's never seemed like a guy who wants to wear a mask, or hang out with pre-teens.

With the recent news about George Perez only having a few months to live, I've found my copy of JLA/Avengers and have been going through it.  Slowly, it's partially my reduced reading ability and partially that I'm really not into superheroes anymore.  But I can find things to enjoy in this comic and there's at least something that's clearly based on the characters I used to give a damn about.

DC and Marvel immediately cut off all contact after this series came out.  Was that deliberate?  We're nearing 20 years since this series came out.  It's not exact but that's when Marvel finally made it into Hollywood.  Men in Black came out in 1997, Blade in 1998, the Ultimate Universe in 2000 to reformat the characters for movies, X-Men in 2000, Spider-Man in 2002.  Iron Man was 2008 and Disney purchased the company in 2009.

DC was purchased by Kinney National in 1967 which flip-flopped its way to become Warner Communications by 1972, the same year Stan Lee quit as Editor-in-Chief.  No idea how much of this is planned and how much is just part of being a megacorporation, but I think they're going to do a crossover at some point in the next several years if everything goes well.

Which led me to notice this today.  Handing over ownership to a megacorp.  How leftist of him.  The article mentions that Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, Shakira, Jimmy Iovine, and David Crosby have all done this recently.  There's comments about looking after their kids [Neil Young] or the virus removing making any money from live concerts [David Crosby.]  Either way, they hand it all over to capitalists that they spent the last half-century opposing.

And being leftists, obviously they'll get to avoid taxes on the huge amounts of money they're given.  They aren't going to pay for the invasion of Syria, right?

Just checked, Elton John has released more albums in the 21st century than Axl Rose ever has.  That's just counting recorded studio albums, not live albums or movie soundtracks, no collaborations with other musicians, only Elton writing and recording albums of new music with his crew.

You may not know this about Elton John but he actually had one or two songs before the 21st century.  I'd looked this stuff up after seeing Axl claim "Funeral For A Friend"/"Love Lies Bleeding" inspired his 'epics' on Use Your Illusions.  Of course I know the Elton John song, I have the album somewhere, and I was pretty sure that was written and recorded quickly.

Yep.  Bernie wrote the lyrics for the album in a couple of weeks, Elton didn't even need that long to write the music.  It's a double album, you know, released in 1973 and wasn't even Elton's only album that year.  Three records written and recorded and released in the space of twelve months.  He released 22 albums from 1969 to 1989, not counting live/greatest hits/etc.

It's called work, actually doing something with whatever talent you may have.

If the article said why the Salvation Army suddenly has problems this year, then the SA would understand that they need to spread the message they sent out on December 2.  Or would all those inferior white people who give them money every year not understand the message?
