This isn't much of a week. Or a month. Or a year. Or a decade...

Well, it looks like we got through the warmest winter week ever, at least what was promised by the NOAA and all the others predicting 'global warming.'  In reality we were covered with snow.  I live in a desert and it was a lot of snow.  Of course many people lost power because the government had insisted that they use windmills for energy, not oil or gas.  Some sources of energy work well in blizzards, some don't, guess which one leftists want.  Not for themselves but to force on others.

Still thinking about stuff which I'm not sure what to write.  I've been tempted to just make a post of random ideas I've been pondering just so I can keep track of it, but of course I haven't done that.

There are rumors that Diamond Comics Distributors will be purchasing DC Comics.  Obviously not owning the characters but they have the right of first refusal for publishing the comics.

I'm not sure how much to trust the report, but it was DC's attempt to move to other distributors besides Diamond that caused this.  It failed and Diamond sued, resulting in the first-refusal option.  I don't have a clue how they got this far, but apparently DC even tried to restore returning unsold books which was the whole point of the distribution market, that comics stores keep however many copies of a title they order.

DC has been firing some of its long-time employees and their corporate master wants more.  I think AT&T is now the official owner but I might be wrong.  It's also not clear why Marvel wouldn't try to get the rights although they may recognize that's taking too much and just looks iffy.  I was surprised to learn that there were any distributors other than Diamond because they were the only one in the business and got sued for having survived when every other distributor crashed.

And now DC's doing that as well.  Stay tuned...
