Now we have to wait seven more days before we get another Monday!

Day 20 without a federal government.  I always wondered what it would be like to go without someone kind and generous providing everything you ever wanted for free.  Now all I can turn to is mom and dad and step-mom and step-dad and the other step-dad.  They say I should visit them more but those nursing homes are icky.  But it's nice of them to handle my rent and credit card payments until the federal government comes back.  It's the least they can do.

So when are we going to burn everything down?  Blacks aren't getting free money anymore so we should probably start in their neighborhoods but if that doesn't bring the federal government back, we'll find other neighborhoods to burn down.  Amazing how we got to this point in less than three weeks.  It's almost like this was planned by our rich leaders in guarded mansions.  That's why they're in charge so the government can never take anything away from us.  At least not after we burn everything down.

Since it's been a while, I decided to look into how Disney movies are doing this year.  Yikes!  As far as I can tell, Lilo and Stitch is the only actual hit they've had all year, aimed at kids and as far as I know, nothing *woke* about it.  Fantastic Four comes in a distant second.  Then there was Falcon America and Thunderbolts.  These movies were all expensive failures.  Fifth place was a Lion King spin-off that was released last December.  Most of its money was made last year and it's still one of the more successful movies in 2025.

A distant sixth place was a sequel to a 20-something year-old movie back when Lindsey Lohan was an up-and-coming thing, telling you how relevant that was.  Reportedly that movie was fairly cheap to make and it still bombed. Then the Snow White remake which was not remotely cheap to make.  Then two animated movies, one of which came out last November.  Then there's the latest Tron failure which is still in theaters.  Why are they trying to turn that into a franchise, has there *ever* been a successful release?

Three hit movies out of ten releases and two of them came from last year.  Another year has passed without a Star Wars release so we don't get to see how well that does in theaters.  That's probably why they haven't put anything out because they don't want to show the world how nobody's interested in this expensive franchise anymore.  But Kathleen Kennedy needs to justify her paycheck somehow so we're supposed to be getting at least one next year.  We'll see if it can do better than the Han Solo movie we waited decades for.  And then there's Marvel.

Combined, the three Marvel movies this year didn't do as well as Avengers in 2012.  That's not counting inflation and these movies were much more expensive to make.  They did do slightly better domestically - $665 million to $623 million - but that's about it.  You can add Ant-Man 3 and The Marvels and it's about the same compared to 2019's Endgame, $964 million to $858 million domestically, $2.001 billion to $2.799 billion worldwide.  Marvel has had a few genuine hits in the last few years and I've left those out for convenience, but the decline is big.  Deadpool and Guardians 3 don't make up for these losses.

This is fascinating and I don't think I'm alone in finding the self-destruction far more entertaining than any of the movies might be.  It's like Disney's corporate policy is to *NOT* appeal to the audience.  What else could explain this?  Why do investors let this continue?

Some of these may be A.I. - and I assume the military has much more advanced A.I. abilities than we have - but for convenience, I'll assume they're all real.  We know the left has been trying to infiltrate the armed forces for quite a while, especially by lowering the standards, so they need to make a move.  It's quite possible they're on Hegseth's list of people to get rid of, or believe they're on that list, so they may not have much to lose.

This is part of the next step to resist after this weekend's protests.  As a bonus, it's supposed to weaken the military anyway, although getting rid of the *woke* won't have as much of an impact as they expect.  It's not clear how far this will go, just because it's not what the military is for.  The left is also trying to hit the black community who are much more dependent on government money.  Those welfare checks are expected to stop coming in soon, so now at least the black females can threaten to loot and burn the stores down.

Of course they have no clue how the stores got there in the first place, so that would be wiping out their on communities.  Also they'll require men to do the actual work.  Men of all races are obviously moving in Trump's direction so it's not like they'll have the best available to handle this.  I'm sure the media is already planning how to promote them burning down their own neighborhoods as Trump's fault.  Perhaps that was even a topic of discussion for the white protests this weekend.

Not sure how it'll work out but I suspect this is where the Trump administration has made preparations.  They'll take some damage but I don't think those of us on their side will run away.  Events like this are why the founders knew we had to protect the right to bear arms.  The government is not here to protect you, it's all about protecting itself against us and they'll use any expendable forces available.

Does this qualify as an attack or is it more like sabotage?  If the former, I'd blame China, if the latter, I'd blame leftists, but there are plenty of other possible suspects for either.  In theory it might even be a total accident but this is 2025 so we're not really going to consider that an option.  It happened this morning and hit targets including banks and airlines.  No idea if it was related but at work we did have some problems in late afternoon.

The internet is a big target.  No idea how much there is in the way of back-ups so it can still keep running after a hit but it's been obvious for a long time that most of us are totally focused on it above all else.  So any lost will hit us hard, to say nothing about the lack of communication or information available without it.

I've always thought the "cloud" was a horrible idea for most of us.  Keep back-ups of your files, printed copies if possible.  And learn how to communicate with other people in person, or at least by radio.  Gen X is probably the last generation where we grew up learning how to do that.
