Day 16 without a federal government.  I spent the day watching movies, talking with family members, meeting some new and old friends.  I've been learning how to cook and we're talking about going to the museum this week.  Damn you, Trump!  You made this happen!  It's the worst thing ever!

If the protests this weekend don't make everything perfect, I give up.  I'll just kill myself so I don't have to live in this country anymore but can still vote Democrat.  It's not like I can move to another country, they all have guards at their borders and won't let us just move there.  I wish we were more like them.

Can't find any place the UN has tax authority over anyone, or even why it thinks it does.  Probably just 'we're the UN, we get whatever we want.'  Not totally convinced the US will leave the organization but it seems the quickest way to get the organization out of the US.  The fact that it's located in NYC would be basically the only protection it has and I highly doubt NYC has any authority in the matter.  The Trump administration just needs to say 'get out.'  It's not like New Yorkers would defend the UN.

Of course the tax is about global warming.  Because what else would these globalists think is relevant.  They rule the world, at least in their own minds, so they can charge people they don't like - the US - money for their illusions.  Haven't heard about them doing anything about any of the wars going on, which was supposed to be the whole point of forming the UN.  Afghanistan and Pakistan are starting a fight, anything?  Bueller?

We don't think much about the UN anymore because of how irrelevant they are, but they are worldwide form of the 'deep state' Trump and DOGE have been going through here.  On the one hand, this stupidity tax seems generic, like they would do this any time.  Perhaps they were always intending to impose this early in Biden's 2nd Harris' first term but maybe it's a sign of desperation.  No idea what weapons they actually have but they need to show they have some authority somewhere.  It's not like they could impose this on China.

This doesn't make sense.  They tried weekly protests after Trump took office and those were pointless.  They tried monthly protests but it looked more like they were just trying to keep everybody showing up.  Not to be relevant, just to keep the servants motivated.  I'm not aware of any recent protests, like they were waiting to try to build up to this.

The government shutdown is involved, with lots of government employees with lots of free time but not getting paid for it like they're used to.  The number of attendees will probably be higher than usual, but won't they still be a bunch of old white people?  Something about this just comes off as 'cult' behavior, the kind they accuse their enemies of.  They insist on this 'kings' nonsense even though it has nothing to do with anything.  Nothing about Trump suggests he has the slightest interest in being a king, why not call it 'no dictators'?

[Random thought:  Not really a fan or expert in chess but I used to know something about it and it's a very old game, so I've wondered if there's a leftist form of the game, i.e. promoting the queen.  That could explain pushing this otherwise-idiotic title on their pawns and this version of the game might be popular among leftist cults.  Obviously no proof whatsoever but doesn't that sound believable as a slogan for 'no kings'?]

 So they're supposed to be accomplishing *something* this weekend with the protests.  I forget who said it but someone in Congress said there would be no progress on ending the shutdown until after the protests.  So Democrats expect to be clearly victorious and Republicans expect it to be a pointless effort and the best the left has to offer.

I'm still avoiding making predictions but that said, I'm guessing the leaders will come out looking idiotic and their servants won't have a clue why this isn't working.  They'll all come home on Saturday night talking about how great everything was, they totally won everything, and then Democrat leaders will start caving in on the shutdown next week.  Don't hold me to that, just a top-of-my-head guess, but right now that's what I'm expecting.

But we knew this would happen, which suggests this was always the next step in the plan, whatever it was.  Whether there's genuine peace on the horizon or if we're just going to wipe out everyone in Gaza and build a casino, there was always a goal.  Especially considering we knew these people were violent tribes who would turn against each other whenever they saw a reason.

I doubt there will be any real peace but I think that was the victory at last weekend's peace deal.  Only the elites really know what it means, the rest of us believe what we're told or are skeptical for whatever reason.  Trump and his staff presumably saw a victory, others either agreed or had to go along to maintain their public image.

The Philistines are getting yet-another chance to show they can act like civilized people.  Good or bad, they'll have to wipe out a lot of their violent people first, which is why Trump is offering to handle that.  Wiping out Hamas - and any other gang leaders - is one of those things I would support the US as 'world police.'  Problem is that I only support it if we strike fast and hard, but this is a situation which would require a long-term occupation, which I would not support.

Even worse, this is only "phase one."  What is phase two?  Shield using the cube to make weapons?

Here we go again.  I'm not even going to bother whining about Trump still being involved in this.  I'm totally right but he's flying high these days so my complaints would make even less difference than usual.  He's already speaking with Putin on the phone now, so why do they need to fly to a meeting?  Trump says they're talking about selling Tomahawk missiles to NATO who will sell them to Ukraine.

A week ago, Russian drones and missiles shut down 60% of Ukraine's gas, as well as electricity and water for Kiev.  If that's true, they're not going to be happy this winter.  But, also reportedly, US intel is helping Ukraine set up long-range targets in Russia.  If that's true, we're already at war with Russia and they could nuke us any moment.  That's a bad thing.  Trump was supposed to prevent things like that.

Ukraine has been arguing with Hungary and is trying to get the EU to side with it against an EU member.  Sounds like that's going well for them, but Hungary won't like it.  Ukraine is also trying to purge Odessa on the Black Sea of anything Russian, including statues of historical figures and the Russian language, even demanding Pushkin Street be renamed because Alexander Pushkin was a 19th century Russian poet.  They have also stripped the Odessa mayor of his Ukrainian citizenship which violates the Ukrainian constitution, article 25, even under martial law.

Just reading that stuff makes me wonder if any of it is really true.  Then there's the story that Mexico and Colombia have sent cartel members to Ukraine to learn how to handle drones.  Part of me thinks 'WWIII is about to get even bigger' and part of me thinks 'what are they smoking?  Who would do this, who would permit them to do this and, hell, why did they pick Ukraine and not Russia to learn this from?'  Russia can funnel their money as well as Ukraine can.  Why do they need to go halfway around the world to learn about drones anyway?

So of course Trump is involved in all this.  Probably easier for him now that he doesn't have to try to get a Nobel prize, he can just work for peace because he can.  Not going to tell him to knock it off, even though just looking at this stuff is bewildering why anybody would voluntarily get involved.
