I could feel it coming in the air tonight, oh lord, but I choose not to.

Day 41 without a federal government.  I think we got 'em.  I bet the Republicans are ready to cave.  They finally learned how much smarter we are than them, how much better we are at running a government even when it's shut down.  The American people have finally fallen in love with our policies, our wealth and our cute little butts.  Nothing can stop us now.

There may be some political games we have to play first, pretending that we'll give some thought to something they want.  And then we'll have to have an actual vote for it, which will probably take a few weeks.  And then Trump is going to whine but we'll just tell him to shut up and obey or we'll use the autopen like we did with that other guy (can't remember his name right now).  They're all losers and we're not.  Wow, I feel really good right now for the first time in 41 days.  Nothing can stop us now.

□ [“Senate Takes Final Vote on Funding Package to End Government Shutdown"]

Haven't heard the current status of the vote although we can assume this step will be passed sometime tonight.  The references I've seen all day are that the government has re-opened but that really makes no sense.  House and Senate need to agree on a bill, they both need to pass it and then it goes to Trump for signing.  It's still going to be a day or two before the House even votes on this.  I assume they'll pass it but there's always a chance...

I still won't say I'm in favor of this bill passing but I will admit the left's response is major evidence that it's a win for our side.  The main part that struck me was that it's supposed to re-establish the jobs of all the people Trump has fired during the shutdown.  That might just be a technical detail, it doesn't require that the people who were fired get their jobs back, they can be replaced by competent non-leftists.  Or they might not be replaced.  The jobs exist but that doesn't mean they need to be filled.

But it's the left that makes this a win.  They are going insane against the 8 Democrats voting in favor of this bill and Schumer for picking them and picking this fight.  They can't ask what this fight was really about because they'd have to admit that Democrats could have voted for the bill in the first place and the government wouldn't have shut down, so all that's left is to blame each other for giving in.

All this time we've been told that Trump and Republicans are losing, yet here they are.  This is what makes leftism so impossible.  At no point are they going to consider 'maybe they weren't losing.  Maybe our leaders lied to us all along.'  They thought the public would jump in to side with them and that's just not happening.

So now the Democrats are in for even more internal conflict.  Another 80-year old House female has announced that she's not running for re-election next year.  Schumer may lose his job of being in charge.  There's already lots of tweets and videos demanding a purge of the 8 votes.  I've been wondering how this is going to affect the planned strike for Thanksgiving week.  Will they all go along with it or will they use it against Democrats?

□ [“Unidentified Drones Over Belgium Lead to UK, France and Germany Sending Troops and Equipment to Counter the ‘Threat’"]

Uh-oh.  The most obvious guess is Russia.  The second-most-obvious guess is EU leaders faking it as an excuse to blame Russia.  Not sure which would be worse.  Probably the latter because the EU will openly be militaristic and then realize that they've ruined their nations' military capabilities.  Wouldn't surprise me if they announce Islam is the official religion to try to convince *someone* to enlist.  It won't work but then actual Europeans will be ready to get rid of the EU permanently.

If it actually is Russia, it'll be similar but they'll be showing Europe how far across the continent their drones can reach.  They're already in Belgium who isn't remotely prepared for this, how far do you want to take it?  Or it might be China, which is just as much of a threat.

I still don't get how drones are changing warfare but those who actually study military strategy have put a lot of thought into 5G war which is going on now.  Much of Europe has dealt with drones from "unknown" sources in the last year or so.  Then there was the balloon last year, funny how no one brings that up anymore.  I really wish the threats were finally made obvious to everyone but I guess if that happened, they wouldn't be so threatening.  We may have to start working out how hard it is to take down a drone with a handgun or shotgun.  Too bad Europe would never do that.

□ [“BBC Apologizes to the Public for Misleading Edit of Trump J6 Speech"]

I haven't paid much attention to this because, well, it's the BBC.  We fought a revolution to not have to pay attention to them.  But something about this just comes off as very strange.  They played footage from January 6, 2021 of Trump's speech, but blatantly edited it to make it look like he was advocating an insurrection, which is what the left has claimed for going-on five years now.  So Trump has responded as you expect from him, up to and including threatening a lawsuit for a billion dollars.

Where else did they think this was going to go?  If they really wanted to do this, they could have done it at any point in the last four years.  They had to know he'd be ready to sue them in response.  He did that with 60 Minutes for their edit of an interview with Kamala Harris.  At least that had a point, trying to affect the election by making Harris look competent, what was this supposed to do?

But it seems to be having a similar effect, the BBC leadership is in big trouble.  Trump ordered them to apologize to their viewers, which they're doing here, but will that make a difference?  Any Brits with an ounce of sense wouldn't pay attention to the BBC anyway and the rest will just believe what they're told.  Obviously the network is an official part of the government so there's something going on but it's not clear how similar or different that is to CBS and 60 Minutes.
