They'll bring the virus with them.  Even if they didn't vote for this they spent years with the people who did.  My reaction is probably over-simplistic but I'd build a wall around the state to keep anyone from getting in.  And a wall around New York to keep anyone from getting out.  It might be possible to let people move if there's very strict vetting but even there, you have leftists on your side.  They'll just ignore the borders.

Or something like this.  Might just be a bluff, why would a governor how authority to do this?  But my worry is that the left has actually been doing this for a long time, deliberately moving to red states and cities to infiltrate them and wear them down.  They might even think they're doing it because they're not *that* leftist but they always wind up siding with the *woke* crowd.

It's also occurred to me that this is why Muslims side with Democrats.  With the numbers, they can get election victory.  Democrats think it's about pushing leftism but over time, their birth rate goes down and the Muslims stay high.  That's where history comes from.

Day 37 without a federal government.  See?  I knew we'd win when leftist cities voted for leftist.  That proves everyone else was wrong so now we can reopen the government and get everything we wanted.  Between that and all the judges giving orders, it'll be like we were never gone.  Now we can finally have our Muslim paradise.  I mean socialist, that's what I meant to say.

Now all we need are the Republicans to cave and other judges to start obeying our rulings and everything will be fine.  That's going to happen any day, I promise.  And by the way, I just realized that I wasn't writing this as a joke.

Like there's not already enough to be worried about.  As I've pointed out, the Supremes have mostly sided with Trump, probably because the Trump administration is smart enough to obey the law.  In fact they just did that again just today, ruling 6-3 that the POTUS has authority to require actual genders be listed on passports.  But there's still a valid reason to worry that they're setting Trump up for a big failure.

There's all the judges ruling against him, at some point they'll just outright ignore the Supremes.  Why not, who's going to stop them?  Add that to the fact that the Republicans are being pushed to cave in on the shutdown.  Soon Trump will be expected to rehire everyone he and DOGE got rid of over the last year.  I hope I'm wrong but I often hope that and often fail to get that.

Plans are to vote on this tomorrow and see if the government opens.  I'm still in the 'don't much care either way' group and I suspect there are lot of others.  What I would like is for the executive branch and Republicans in Congress to have plans in place to trap the leftists in the re-opened government.  I'm not sure what they could do but a win would be very helpful.  Otherwise I suspect a lot of people - possibly including myself - will start giving up.  We'll defend ourselves and those close to us but if they cave in, basically all politicians up to and including Trump will be worthless to us in any real sense.

It's depressing to see New York City wanted this.  People are already trying to escape, pulling their kids out of schools.  The first to leave will be the competent ones.  Maybe we'll be lucky and we can move all the illegal immigrants there, since obviously NYC voters want more of that.  A female city council member says they need $200 million to defend illegals.  Wonder where they're going to get that money.

It's probably depressing because it is, or was, New York City.  The population alone was enough to make it a living American fantasy.  Sure, that doesn't hold up but it shined across the world.  If it hadn't already gotten bad enough, now's their chance.  And it's only been 24 years since 9/11.

No word on what caused this explosion but it's going to happen more often and not be by accident.  Police, firefighters and garbagemen will be the first ones to not participate in this any longer.  I haven't gotten around to looking up one of the final scenes from Atlas Shrugged but I think that's going through a lot of people's minds.  This metropolis is over.  No Rudy Giuliani is going to come and save it.
