The word on the street is "potato." WTF is wrong with this street? That's just weird!

Day 42 without a federal government.  Thanks to the united resistance against Trump, I think we're nearing an ultimate answer to life, the universe and everything.  That never would have happened without Trump and it's why we all hate him so much.  That's why we should be in charge of everything.

I'm getting a little worried though.  One or two Democrats might be thinking about giving in.  This isn't the right time, we need to stay together, no matter the cost.  Everyone must be starving and dying before we do anything to save one person.  And that's going to happen any day, just like we planned.

□ [“Senate Passes Legislation to Reopen Government in 60-40 Vote"]

The House will vote tomorrow.  Most likely they'll pass it, not sure any Democrat votes are needed.  If they are needed, a few have probably already been told to comply and if not, Republicans will just pass it.  At the moment, they're not getting the blame for making things worse.  It is possible they won't pass it either, in which case I'm not sure what will happen.  It would be funny if they could make Democrats vote first, just to see if any of them are going along now, so then some Republicans could vote against it.

The House is where spending bills are supposed to originate but I'm not sure if that's relevant at the moment.  If they said 'no, we want our original bill,' what will the Senate do?  Entertaining to watch, yes, but this could be very chaotic.  That's not even getting into the possibility of Trump's veto, although I still don't think that would happen.

Now leftists are going after Schumer for the crime of letting welfare checks go out to poor people.  He isn't even voting for this bill but he gets the blame.  One constant leftist trait is that it's easier to turn on their own side than it is to attack the enemy.  Just a few days ago they were complaining that keeping the government closed hurt poor people, now they're angry that it's going to reopen.  This only computes in their own minds.

And they're all going nuts about this.  Normally I would just assume it's typical leftism, they can't accept defeat, but they're all doing this at once.  It's only the ones in the shadows who don't seem to be obnoxiously loud about this.  This guy is Nancy Pelosi's puppet and I don't think she's made any comments about this.  Unless she is through him.  The party was so happy for some wins in low-turnout solid-left districts and were going to ride that to the mid-terms and 2028, but here they are now.  This appeals to voters how exactly?

□ [“EU Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen To Set up Her Own Intelligence ‘Cell’ Despite Resistance From Member States"]

Officially this would be about 'coordinating' established intelligence agencies from the respective member states.  So it doesn't 'duplicate' their activities.  Of course.  And who, by the way, has the primary authority?  We see this conflict in the US as states try to resist the federal government and usually wind up losing that fight.  I'm surprise the EU hasn't already done this but here they are.

Meanwhile Britain is having it's own internal conflicts.  They lash out at Trump as we see here because of course, but they are clearly breaking up in many ways.  There's Trump's threat to sue the BBC for doctoring their footage on Trump, making his January 6 speech something it wasn't.  They just respond that their US audience is huge and they aired this right before the election, meaning they just made Trump's case for him.  So now the BBC has leadership problems.

Then there's Kiers Starmer's government, also breaking apart.  It's rumored that he'll be out of office in days.  Then there's the problems Charles is having with his brother and sons.  If they're still a real monarchy, that's not how they want to appear.  Then there's the endless reports of authorities oppressing Brits and supporting the illegal immigrants, up-to and including Islam taking priority.  And that's not even accounting for their eagerness to go to war with Russia.

We don't see how the Trump administration is fighting the British or EU elites but clearly something is going on here.  It's a foreign equivalent of what Trump is doing with Democrats, making them crave tyranny and destruction, whatever it takes to show they're fighting him.  And then losing.

Haven't heard anything about protests in a few months but I'd like to think the British are still willing to do that.  It is just so depressing to look at what's been done to this landmark of civilization.  The 100-year-old veteran who spoke up a few days ago and said winning WWII wasn't worth it because of this.  This is what you're losing and may be permanently gone.  Turn around now!

□ [“In Hilariously Cringe Interview, Kamala Harris Was Playing 'Three-Dimensional Chess' Against Trump"]

Is she aware that she lost?  She's obviously not very good at 3d-chess.  It's almost like she wasn't actually playing that in the first place and she's pretending now that she was.  Who is letting her push this nonsense out in public?  She's still one of the most prominent Democrats out there - sad as that is to say - but this is just digging her hole deeper, guaranteeing she'll never be allowed to come back.

"I was aware of my opponent’s strategy, and I wasn’t about to fall prey or fall into those traps."

And yet you lost. You had to have fallen into some traps for that to happen.

" And part of his strategy, and those around him, was to try and take me off our game and message, and I wasn’t about to be distracted by those little— those flames that he was trying to throw to get me away from one of— my highest priority, which is talking to people about the economy and their well being in terms of their financial well being."

This is not three-dimensional, this is babbling.  She would have no clue what his strategy was because this is just normal for her.  She says she can't be distracted and then just starts changing the subject without even ending a sentence.

And that’s— so, I was — I understood the game that was being played, and I made a decision that I wasn’t gonna get played."

And that's why you spent the first six weeks as the nominee staying out of public?  Not a good plan.  I'm positive these interviews are supposed to make her look good but I can't think of how they'd be different if they were intended to make her look bad.  Other than asking for very specific details like 'why did you pay so many celebrities to hang out with you?' or 'do you still have no clue what you might change from the Biden administration?'
