□ [“Massive Rally at Police Station After Henry Nowak’s Murder – Furious Brits Clash With Cops"]

So, hypothetically, what would happen if Trump sent in troops to help?  You could argue that he has the authority to do this with the War Powers Act although that's quite iffy.  It would be tough to prove this is a legitimate threat to the US which is the priority.  We already have troops stationed there but I'm thinking it should be dramatic.  Thousands of soldiers coming in on parachutes, the Navy and Marines on the seaside.  We're Americans, we're here to help.

How many Brits would turn that offer down?  Not saying we should lay waste to the land with the Air Force but we have armed men patrolling to protect the British.  We arm and train them to take over.  We keep their government officials out of our way.  NATO would be unhappy but what exactly could they do about it?  Especially considering Trump would need approval within 60 days.

There are some other options but none as dramatic.  Special Operations goes in to oversee the British Revolution.  But thinking about it, would it really be necessary?  It might be simple enough to just make the offer to the British people and let them call out their approval.  It's probably not possible but it would be funny to put it up to a vote, not one run by the government.  I know this won't happen but I came up with the notion this morning and can't stop thinking about the possibilities.  This would get rid of a lot of the problems Britain has been facing for far too long.

□ [“House Passes Resolution to End War with Iran 215-208 - Four Republicans Side With Democrats"]

This looks like a show and that's probably what it is.  The resolution should have no chance of passing the Senate and Trump can still veto it.  Why the hell the POTUS has the authority to veto Congress on declaring or ending a war is not something I have a clue about but there it is.  But Iran is really trying to push whatever influence they have around the world, and that includes Congress.

They're also using their authority in the UN to get appointed to committees that they were already banned from.  Some countries pretend to care about "human rights" but only for certain committees and the right approach will make that irrelevant.  They're also still sending out missiles and drones on other nations.  CENTCOM says we've stopped some but they have hit an airport in Kuwait.  Real helpful there.

Iran also says they've stopped negotiations with the US because Israel is fighting in Lebanon.  In one sense they're obviously connected but in another, shouldn't Iran be more concerned about their part in the war?  They make that claim which suggests their position isn't as weak as it should be.  It's definitely relevant, Trump even admits he just had an argument with Netanyahu over "constantly fighting in Lebanon."  It's things like this which is making the war drag on too long and giving Democrats a chance to speak out like this.  The clock is still ticking.

□ [“A Very Confused Joe Biden Crashes Jill’s Book Event, Steals Spotlight in Uncomfortable Moment"]

I get the impression he had had been sitting in the crowd.  He was probably supposed to stay there and stay quiet but he doesn't know any better so this is what you get.  He interrupts Jill and host Whoopi Goldberg asking "who do you love most in the whole world?"  She tries to treat this as a humorous moment but Joe keeps talking longer than he should and not about anything relevant.  This is what you tied yourself to, Jill, you're stuck with it.

It is strange that he was brought to this event in the first place.  Manhattan Upper East-Side, why would he go so far away from home?  But that's why I assume he was supposed to stay quiet and barely noticed.  But I suspect some of his staff feel an obligation to make him appear competent and not-senile.  But then you get scenes like this, you can't just order him to stop acting this way.

□ [“On Social Media, Hunter Biden Candidly Responds to Critics Trolling Him Over Cocaine Habit"]

Meanwhile the only other member of the family who can bring in any money is getting into online arguments about how much he did drugs.  Perhaps Hunter is still on drugs, maybe that's why he has no clue that he can't win this fight.  This is why famous people should stay out of these arguments.  There's a lot more people out there who would entertain themselves by making Hunter angry and he's not going to make himself look any better.

I'm guessing the family is kind of desperate.  Jill probably got tons of money for this book in advance, no need to actually sell any but is that enough?  It only needs to last a few more years, then she and Joe will be dead, but they have expensive lifestyles.  Hunter flat-out admits that he only got paid for paintings while his dad was staying at the White House so he's going to need something else to make it through the next few decades.

□ [“Hollywood Destroyed Boy Brands:  He-Man Box Office Disaster After Star Wars!  Is Avengers Doomed?"]

I keep pondering this, if their actual goal was to destroy boy brands, what would they be doing differently?  But then how could these people be in charge for so long and stay there through all this failure?  But then how did they stay there anyway with all the failure?  In 12 days, the Star Wars movie has made barely more than the 2018 Solo movie made in 9 days and that movie was a huge failure.

This movie was reportedly entirely aimed at boys who simply aren't interested.  Old people have a hard time thinking about this but the target audience, 6-12 year old boys, have only known Star Wars as a 'girl brand' their entire lives.  There's simply no incentive to see this.  And now they're doing that with He-Man.

I had a very slight interest in He-Man as a kid, had one or two toys, watched some of the cartoons.  Star Wars, Transformers and comic books were far more relevant so I've always seen this franchise as totally stuck in the early-80s for small children of the time.  It's not clear if the new movie is *woke* but reportedly it's looking like a failure just because the audience is sick of it.  Whatever merits the movie might have, I just learned that there was a cartoon done a decade or two ago, a reboot which killed He-Man and Skelator right away and left the 'girl boss' in charge for the rest of the series.  Yet again, any audience there was has no incentive to return.

In a few weeks, there will be the Supergirl movie.  That's sounding increasingly like a failure as well.  It's a bit iffy because the actor who played Aquaman is now playing Lobo and if anybody could get a hit superhero movie these days, Lobo's one of the best options.  But he'd have to be done right and there's no reason to think they did.  One more reason to have no incentive to find out if they did a good job this time.

I have a bit of personal affection for Supergirl.  I still think doing her right - totally girly - might have a chance.  But the actress is already killing any success this movie might have with her interviews.  Reportedly she's barely in costume the whole movie and nothing about the trailer shows any connections to Earth or human beings.  Males will still be the main audience, none of this will appeal to females and this is why these movies are failing.

So now we can expect Avengers to fail this December.  In one sense it was already known, they're spending ungodly amounts of money on this movie that there's no chance of it earning back.  Reportedly the point is to get people interested in the Marvel franchise again so maybe a future movie will make a profit.  I highly doubt it, I think people are done.  I'm not saying the franchise is completely over but social media has been posting ads for this movie for a year or two at this point.  That is the wrong way to interest anybody.

And once again, there's nothing to bring the boys in.  Actual customers, the sort of people who would go 'I want to see this so I will' instead of just complying with their friends or social media.  The current two most popular movies are very cheap horror movies made by people who started on youtube.  To the extent movies can be considered an art-form, that's the sort of sincerity that makes product people actually want to see.  In theory you could even make a movie franchise aimed at girls - why does Barbie have no sequel? - but that's where the real work is done.
