Trump gets credit for having a clue what actually matters to people.  Democrats weren't complaining about gas prices six months ago.  They didn't even mention gas prices.  They didn't complain about them two years ago either when they were at least as bad as they are now.  There has been a very slight drop in my town which I hoped was a sign that things would get better in the near future.

Trump says it'll be 90 days and the prices will be better than they were four months ago.  That would be just in time to ruin a lot of Democrat propaganda for the mid-terms.  Things like this are why I really hope Trump and his people have fully planned these things out.  I think any decent drop in gas prices would help the mid-terms but now he's on the record of saying things will be fixed.  Are the oil companies ready to start gushing out by then?  Because otherwise the Middle East needs to be fixed and you might need a little more than 90 days for that.

I actually started writing this to get to the Middle East but it does occur to me that it's been over a year and a half since oil companies started getting help from Trump and they had a few months to plan.  So things might be ready now and it's quite believable that everything was planned with this timing.  The oil companies had to restart whatever plans they had when Trump took his unscheduled four-year vacation but they're moving now.

This is why I hope the administration planned things out.  With all the build-up to the mid-terms, it would be awesome if this is yet-another failure for Democrats, especially since they always wanted high gas prices.  In fact it would almost be funny - not in a 'ha-ha' way - if the timing was off and the Middle East explodes, but gas prices are still going down.  People would have some major questions about that and how things work.

I get that Israel needs to deal with Hezbollah but it's been going on for a long time.  Lebanon is right next door, this should be something they'd have already handled, unless the Lebanese are overwhelmingly anti-Israel, which I don't think they are.  Iran clearly has close ties to Hezbollah but you'd think those would be cut off by now.

And Trump is arguing with Israel about this, at least publicly.  You'd think they would be on the same page and maybe they are in private but this just makes no sense.  That's not even counting the bizarre way the other Muslim nations are siding with Israel against Iran.  Meanwhile Russia and China haven't been able to help Iran as much as you'd expect.  They have other problems but they aren't backing it with major force.

The US has hit Iran in a few places, I haven't paid attention, radar sites at Goruk and Qeshm Island, but it's suggested this was a big deal for their side.  There is the impression that something has changed and the mullahs are clearly on the losing side.  The details are still not public and probably wouldn't be comprehensible if they were.  It is depressing, at what point will we be able to actually see what's going on?

There's already been a news story that some were already sent home and immediately sent to the front lines.  I'm skeptical that's true.  If they were really stupid enough to do that, wouldn't you be broadcasting it everywhere?  'Our heroes are home!'  I'm sure they're discussing it, Ukraine doesn't have any men left who are in the 23-60 age group.  I still don't get why their draft age starts at 23 but that's been consistently reported during the whole war so it's been going on forever.

But this shows the basic flaws of leftism, how they cannot fall back on their own beliefs.  The whole point of mass immigration is to get away from immediate danger, which Russia invading certainly qualifies as.  Europe is supposed to support that but suddenly they want to send the immigrants back home?  Is it because they're white men?  After all this time, they've still never found any other genders to draft.

So having destroyed the basic concept of 'immigration,' they're also telling everybody what they can do and don't require consent.  You believed the EU would protect you?  They won't.  Have fun on the front lines in a war.  The EU can't even announce that they're only doing this to Ukrainian men, everyone else will be protected.  No one's stupid enough to believe that.

Then there's the deeper hit at nationalism.  They aren't EU, they are Ukraine.  And for that matter, French, Italian, German, Hungarian, etc.  English, Scot, Welsh, Bogtrotters, they were never EU either.  The whole point of the EU, theoretically, was to get rid of these nations, now you're picking out one particular nationality and forcing them against their will to return to their home country.  Might as well require Russians to do that because their country f*cking started in Kiev!  They've had a thousand years to think about this, along with the influence of marxism and well, being Russian.  You ain't gonna win that argument but the EU is still trying.

Russia is currently taking the last part of Donetsk, the region they were fighting over in the first place.  Ukraine has recently been doing more with drones and missiles, I'm not sure how effective it's really been but at least it appears to have had more effect than the last several years of resistance.  This war will probably be remembered as where drones were really used in major ways, whether or not we find any other real purpose.

□ [“Disney Investors Panic!  Star Wars Flops!  Will Avengers Doomsday Be Next?"]

The latest movie has barely passed $150 million after its third weekend.  It's going to struggle to get much more.  Return of the Jedi made $250 million on its first release.  1983 money and it was only in a thousand theaters nationwide.  It also wasn't as popular as the two previous movies.  This isn't doing well.

Disney has been taking it hard all down the line so yes, they need to worry about Marvel too.  Next year is another Star Wars movie and there's no reason to think it'll do anything.  In ten years they killed the franchises.  Yet their stock hasn't collapsed.  The suggestion is that the investors have been keeping it up because a large part of the economy depends on Disney.  That would give the leftists in charge a lot of leeway which seems to be coming to an end.

I still want Kathleen Kennedy to be required to answer some serious questions in public.  But the damage goes much deeper.  This company has been a leftist icon for a long time and with its spread across the world, there's a lot of connections and influence.  Disney was basically dead by its 100th anniversary, now Star Wars is in the same situation for its 50th.

The new Avengers movie is already expected to not be a hit.  It can't be, they've spent far too much money to make it, but they need to hope it's not a total bomb.  Is there anything they can do to save it?  Especially when we can just post the youtube videos of the only Avengers actors anyone cares about promoting Kamala Harris.  Comics fans have long known that it's a lot easier to just drop the titles you used to like instead of spending more and more time and money just to keep track.  Yet leftists still believe that these corporate IPs will always be there and never notice the contradiction.
