It was forty years ago today! Sergeant Pepper got his revenge.

Chuck Yeager, the first man to break the sound barrier, age 97

I've been thinking about Lennon lately although I'm not sure what to say.  I didn't even realize until around noon that it was the 40th anniversary.

2060 Verified Dead Absentee Voters in Wayne County Michigan, how many more are there?
December 7, 2020

I am wondering if all these proofs of vote-fraud are building up to something.  Redoing the election would be the most obvious choice but is that remotely doable?  What other option is there?  My worry is that the Supreme Court will simply ignore all the cases they're offered.

Once again they show that they have no interest in the republic.  They aren't going to do any work, they'll just get a paycheck.

Another Youtube video series.  I started watching this looking forward to it and I've seen they've done similar shows with Ferris Bueller, Ghostbusters and Back to the Future, but I'm not sure I want to see those now.  This had the main cast, the director, several producers and still more people all for a video that's barely half an hour long.

Wayne and Garth could have handled that, maybe bringing in cameos here and there.  Tia Carerre was a nice addition - and the show ended with her singing a verse or so of "Ballroom Blitz" which made me smile - but that's just too many people.  Alice Cooper didn't need to be there, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry didn't need to open the show, Brian May and Roger Taylor didn't really add anything but their presence.  Queen's been my favorite band ever since the movie came out and this didn't help anything.

There wasn't much in the way of serious discussion, just a few brief descriptions of how the movie was set up and a few scenes mentioned.  They spent more time reciting a couple of scenes or lines than anything else and there was some brief "trivia game" with two or three irrelevant questions.  Tia and Rob Lowe were the best additions and brought the most content, Lowe describing the change to comedy and hosting SNL, Tia pointing out that she had to turn down a job on Baywatch to be in the movie, stuff like that.

It's a nice novelty but I don't see much benefit beyond showing that these people still exist.  I'm not saying I won't see any of the others - Back to the Future is still tempting - but they didn't even bother to get Chris Farley, what's up with that?

This one was more enjoyable because they had fewer people involved so they could get into more detail.  Nothing special was said but it was fun.  An amusing opening, Christopher Lloyd who thinks it's an interview and refuses to talk about Back to the Future so the guy asks about Taxi, what was that like, did Reverend Jim believe in time-travel?  This one ended with people (no idea who they are) playing "Power of Love" which I haven't heard in ages but I'm not complaining.

Obviously Crispin Glover was there, I assume no one wanted him involved.  No idea why they didn't invite Biff.  They did include both actresses playing Jennifer, the joke was that Claudia Wells only showed up after everyone else was gone, "I always wanted to meet Elizabeth Shue."

This was much better.  I'll probably watch the Ghostbusters video because it's Ghostbusters, duh, but how can they pull that off?  Egon is dead, Rick Moranis almost-certainly completely retired and Bill Murray is, well, Bill Murray.

□ [“GHOSTBUSTERS Reunited Apart"]

Also better than the first one.  They only brought in extra people at the end.  They weren't needed either but ok, Jennifer Runyan.  Again there was more detail than the Wayne's World video.  Bill Murray was, well, Bill Murray but not in a bad way.

It probably varies but to an extent, some of the actors have been more in character which is nice.  Annie Potts is always fun and they got her to open up the video as Janine answering the call.  I'm not really interested in seeing the people repeat their dialogue - although there are exceptions -  and they don't much detail about their characters or situations.  Sigourney Weaver at least said something about the work and apparently it was her idea to turn into a dog.  I had heard before that it was a deliberate acting challenge for her, she'd just been in Alien which was not remotely like dealing with Saturday Night Live creators.

I'm still ambivalent on the songs being used but well, Ray Parker Jr. singing and guitar for the theme song is totally worth watching.  The only disappointment was they didn't have everybody else  telling us who we gonna call.

I suppose I'll watch Ferris Bueller although they definitely won't have the writer/director in this one as John Hughes is also quite dead.  If I'm not wasting time on movies, it's still some sort of videos but that's how it goes.

There's also a tribute to John Hughes .  Most of the actors are not remotely recognizable and Chevy Chase is not remotely in shape, he could barely recite the dialogue and I don't remotely want to know what happened to Judd Nelson.

The Ferris Bueller reunion was all right.  Ben Stein looks about as out-of-shape as Chevy Chase although with their ages, it makes sense.  They didn't end with a song but did have Kristy Swanson repeat her line of dialogue.  "Thank you, Simone."  "No problem whatsoever."

I guess it is nice to hear the dialogue repeated.  It's not a big deal, they don't have to act or expand the characters, just recite what helped them get this far, but it's overall a fun idea.
